Our very own TVFan's televsion review blog PASS THE REMOTE has attracted an invitation to fly to San Diego on February 27. As many of you may know TVFan has been doing reviews of Cold Case, Veronica Mars, America's Top model to name a few. From TVFan:a PR firm that contacted me to see if I wanted to be added to their PR list for shows like Veronica Mars, America's Next Top Model, Everybody Hates Chris, etc. Of course, I did, so I have been getting press releases, pictures, episode descriptions, etc on all those shows. Well, that same PR firm just sent me an email inviting me to go to San Diego, CA for the Veronica Mars Bloggers Media Day!!! Veronica Mars and CC are my absolute favorite shows, so imagine my excitement, but it gets better. Here's what the trip includes:
Tour of the set Cast meet and greet with picture opportunities Lunch with creator/executive producer Rob Thomas And Warner Bros. and UPN are paying for my flight, hotel, all my transportation and my meals. In other words, it's a free trip and I get to meet the VM cast and crew! So, if you are a fan of the show and have any questions that you would like for me to ask Rob and co, feel free to post them here and I'll do my best to get the answers. I will be publishing a full report in my blog with all the questions and answers from you guys and the blog readers. My trip is February 27th, so it's quickly approaching. I'm so excited, but I also can't believe this is actually happening! I'm also a little scared to go out there all by myself, but I decided not to let fear rule my life, so I RSVPed that I would be going Congratulations TVFan! We look forward to hearing about the entire trip.

I'm still recovering from the red eye last night/this morning and catching up on some of these threads. Of course I had to weigh in on "Dog Day Afternoons" as well. Anyway, I wanted to give you guys the report on my trip to the set of Veronica Mars. Oh, and I have a little Cold Case scoop for you too! I had an amazing time out in San Diego! We got to watch series star Kristen Bell (Veronica) shoot three scenes outside when we first got there yesterday. We also got to tour all of the sets and take plenty of pictures. Not everyone from the cast was there because they weren't all scheduled to shoot that day, but we got to talk with the members that were there, and everyone was very friendly and super nice. If you're a fan of Kristen's, I'm happy to report that she is a sweatheart! She got pulled away to shoot a scene, so we didn't get to finish talking to her or getting pictures (the only disappointment), but we understood because she was very busy. The show's creator/executive producer Rob Thomas was awesome! He answered all of our questions and gave us an awesome tour. He was a lot of fun. Overall, it was an incredible experience and I'm really glad I went. And now for the Cold Case-related info: Jason Dohring, who plays Logan Echolls on VM, played the older version of Dominic LaSalle in S1's "The Plan" and had all those awesome scenes with Kathryn. I asked him about the experience and he told me that he had a fabulous time doing CC. He said that he has never seen a group of people work so hard. He was on the set at 6am and didn't leave until midnight, and everyone else still had another scene to film! He said he sees "those guys" a lot because of CBS and UPN being owned by the same company and he loves running into them because they were all so great (BTW - Jason't episode airs tonight on TNT). Tessa Thompson (Billie from S2's "Best Friends") is also on VM, but she was not there yesterday. If you're interested in reading more about my visit and seeing the pictures, click on over to my blog (shameless plug, I know, but I just didn't want to go into too much detail here because this isn't a VM board). I'll be covering the event for the next couple of weeks, but my big article with all the good stuff from Rob Thomas should be out on Monday on the blog. I'll also have some bits on Kristen and Jason, so if you're a fan of either or both of them, you can read those as well. I'll try to remember to post over here when they're up so you can check them out.

The San Diego Union-Tribune has a story up on their site today about the bloggers press day on the VM set and about television blogs in general. I'm not quoted or anything, but I thought I'd let you guys know in case you were interested in reading it. The reporter, Karla Peterson, followed us around all day, so she got a lot of good perspective. LINK

thanks TVFan. I remember now the character Jason played on CC. Since I don't watch other series, I don't know how these actors' careers have advanced. ~Naj
