The Bronze Horseman by Paullina Simmons That's my feel good book, appeals to my romantic side...even though love during the second world war...hmmm
Otherwise reading: Le dernier jour d'un condamne (the last day of a convicted felon) Victor Hugo...very interesting

Thought I'd bump this up, as I'm now reading The Andromeda Strain by Michael Crichton.

I read The Tales of Beedle the Bard earlier this week. Now I'm reading Harry, A History.
Beedle was pretty good. It's a book of five short Wizarding fairy tales & after each one there is commentary by Albus Dumbledore. I really liked the commentary. Even though Beedle isn't a typical Harry Potter book, it still had the feel of one, and it was a great addition to canon. I seriously wish that the series wasn't over. And reading this book made me want the Harry Potter Encyclopedia even more!
Harry, A History is about the whole Harry Potter experience. So far I've read about how Harry Potter changed a lot about fandoms. I didn't know that before HP books' release dates weren't really a big deal. And since I was only in fifth grade when HP was first released (I didn't even have my own email address!) it's been interesting to read about how the popularity of the internet affected HP's popularity, too.

Sleepers.Lorenzo Carcaterra: a wonderful book I love Sleepers. Well, I'm not sure "love" is the right word, given the context... but you're right, it really is a phenomenally good book.

I'm currently reading After the first death by Robert Cormier. I have to read it for school, but I don't like it very much. I read that book for my summer reading in school. I didn't like it very much, either, until I got to the end. The book overall is good, but I was a little confused by the ending. I'm not sure if I was confused because it's confusing or because I was only in middle school. I can't remember the ending now.

Death Message by Mark Billingham. I've already read this in German, but I liked it that much that I bought it a week ago in English. ;D
It's a great crime novel, well plotted and with believable characters and a likeable main character. All in all a very good seventh book of the Tom Thorne series.

All That Remains by Patricia Cornwell. It's the third in the Kay Scarpetta series of books, of which I've already read the first two (Postmortem and Body of Evidence). The first two I found really good, and read them in a couple of days, but so far All That Remains isn't really living up to my expectations. The case is OK, it's just not really attention grabbing, though it is getting better I will admit.
I'm reading A Handful of Dust by Evelyn Waugh also, which I'm about a third of the way through, and so far I like it a lot.

lean mean thirteen by janet evanovich.
There's quite a few books in the scarpetta series but anything after blowfly is not worth it. Her writing died a little. And if you like her writing you'll love the temperance Brennan series by kathy reichs. Elizabeth George is also an amazing writer.

Currently I'm reading One Shot by Lee Child. A friend, who introduced me to Jeff Abbott, recommended the Jack Reacher books to me, and I finally got around to reading one. More because I didn't have the next Scarpetta book in the series yet, and wanted to read something. Anyway, I half didn't want to enjoy the book, because there are a lot in the Reacher series and I could really do without another series, but it is very hard not to enjoy. There are 17 that are out at the moment, and the next one's due out this year I think. ETA: Kathy Reichs is a really great author, too. I've only read a couple of the Temperance Brennan novels so far, but I really enjoyed them both.
