What would to happen if Scotty got blinded , how would he react to it and Lilly?
6:00pm- Lillian Rush checked her watch keeping focused on the building where, Scotty had chased the suspect into. Something was wrong, but before she could the whole building went up in flames. Several minutes passed until the whole place was swarmed with police. From out the corner of her eye, Lilly saw Scotty lying unconscious as the paramedics loaded him into the ambulance. Following them she sat down and took his hand and silently prayed.
Arriving at the hospital, Lilly gave him a kiss as he was being wheeled down another hallway. Sitting down she could feel the tears forming. Scotty meant the whole world to her; he was her protector something who was there for thick and thin. Her right hand was wrapped in a bandage from a minor burn, but her eyes didn’t seem to notice.
Several more hours passed of sitting there hearing children cry, people in pain and the worry in her heart. Lilly ignored the sound of her empty stomach; she couldn’t dare eat in a time like this, not here and not now. Darkness took full effect as the snow came falling down lightly, pushing its cold winds into the room. People came in and out sick and well, until she was the only one sitting there alone.
The doors opened and a doctor called out her name, Lilly Rush looked up to see a man in a white coat standing there. He came closer sitting down next to her, immediately she knew that the news wasn’t good.
“Detective Valens, is temporally blinded in both of his eyes, we’ve have him on a high dose of pain medication but it isn’t helping “he said
Lilly took in a breath” How long wills his blindness last”
“Four months to a year, depending on how fast he heals” the doctor said leaving
Sitting there for a second, her eyes flooded with tears. Lilly mentally kicked herself for not going in there sooner; this was all her fault it always was. Taking a minute to collect her mind, she headed down to his room. Scotty lay there with a thick bandage over both of his eyes, as various machines were connected to him.
Taking his hand in hers she whispered “I’m here”.
“Lil” Scotty called out softly
Lilly leaned closer “its okay Scotty, I’m not leaving you”
He held her hand tighter “I can’t see”
She softly stroked his cheeks as tears ran down his face” I know the doctor told me”
“Told you what” he whispered.
