Anyone get the Census Bureau form? I did and it wasn't too bad, just took 2 minutes to do, unlike a few years ago where it took 30 minutes.

We've done it and turned it in already. It's a very important tool to make sure that states/cities/towns, even your neighborhood, gets the money and representation it needs. Filling out out a form every 10 years isn't that bad.

My dad and I were joking about that today.
The 2010 Census.
Name: How many people live in your house: Ethnicity
The 2000 Census
How many in your house are left handed? How many people who visit your house are left handed? What religion is your dog? What brand of crackers do you eat on Saturdays? How many in your household have brown eyes? Blue eyes? Green eyes?
etc, etc.

I remember when they came knocking at your door and then rudely came into your place uninvited and looked around.

Census workers are not allowed to just barge into someone's home and start looking around. If they were in your home, that's because whoever answered the door let them in. Back in 2000, we had a census worker in our apartment, but that's only because they had some questions to ask us and it was more polite to have them come in and sit down than stand at the door freezing cold. No need to be rude to them, they have a job to do just like anyone else.
And no, it's not against the Constitution. There's nothing in it that says "Census workers aren't allowed to come into your home". It's just a tad bit off-putting to me that you'd say that. :-\
BTW, when you say "looked around".....you make it sound like they were going into your bedroom and rifling through your underwear drawer. I am about 99% certain they were counting the number of rooms you had (bedrooms, bathrooms). Or the number of TVs you had, because on our 2000 census form, I remember that question being on there.

It was pretty simple when I opened it didn't look that way. The only problem I had with it was the household question. I don't really live at home since I live in the dorm room and the last question of each person asks if you live anywhere else and there was an option "college housing". Didn't really know if I counted in the household or not.

I just tried to image the Census Bureau barging into someone's house, looking around; realized that it looked wrong, and stupid. Decided that it had to be joke.
Besides, you guys could tell mine was a joke, and I didn't use a smily.

Let me clarify my remark earlier in this thread. The census bureau worker did in fact knock at my door and asked to come in but rather than waiting for my acknowledgment, walked right in to my disbelief. This was when I had moved here in 1991.
She did walk around my apartment ( and I stood in total disbelief at her gall to do so) and she stood and stared from the kitchen right into my bedroom area jerking her head back and forth looking over me into that area insinuating that there was another person living with me. I had felt like this person was totally violating me and my personal space an vowed to never let anyone from the census bureau to ever to do that again. That I'd not even open my door for them. I didn't know back then that this is really unacceptable. At the time my mind was on other things, like my mother had just passed from a life long illness and I was devastated and in bereavement. I had just moved from my hometown within two months of her passing because I was stressed out from so much traveling and getting home so late at night that I decided to move closer to work.
I should have explained this further when I replied to this thread initially but just wanted to make clarification.
