Sweet tea?!? We have that up here in Canada, it is called "iced tea". I know the Yanks don't like their tea sweet. Always have to remind my wife of that when we are in North Dakota!!

My name is John. I'm somewhere between 51 and 53 years of age, but that changes every year.
I grew up in SE Alaska, which is next to Canada. I now live in Seattle WA...which is next to Canada. I'm sort of a stick-in-the-mud.

I'm sort of a stick-in-the-mud. Don't worry jeyon, I'm a stick in the mud too! The only time I've ever been to Canada was when I went across to visit the other side of the Niagra Falls. I hear it is beautiful country, though. Seattle WA, I hear is a moderate temp but kinda dreary. Now I'd love to hear what Alaska was like. That place fascinates me but I have to admit I'd be scared to move there because many places are so remote. I saw this special on Discovery or somewhere where a man from the US moved to one of the most far out places in Alaska and had to have a plane drop his supplies every month or so. They showed him living in a house structure all in heavy clothing and you could see his breath. It was supposedly zero degrees in his house. I don't understand how he could live like that 24/7. ~Naj

Seattle WA, I hear is a moderate temp but kinda dreary. Keep telling people that. Now I'd love to hear what Alaska was like. That place fascinates me but I have to admit I'd be scared to move there because many places are so remote. Southeast Alaska is more like a suburb of Seattle. A guy from the Yukon Territories came down and said that he just wanted to see what it's like in the "banana-belt." When I was growing up, most foodstuff came up by barge (milk was frozen). No television. Things are much more modern now.

I am the new boy from London, England. I think that makes me the 2nd Brit to make it onto this great forum. Welcome, Buddy. I spend a lot of time on messageboards run by Brits. Only lately have I joined American dominated ones. It's strange that most everyone spells things the same way I do. I recall that a host of new American shows premiered over there recently. I had talked-up COLD CASE and JOAN OF ARCADIA. I haven't gotten any feedback on COLD CASE, however JoA is popular with a couple messageboards friends.

I haven't watched Joan of Arcadia, and judging by the lack of people talking about it over here, nor have most people. The main programmes I am watching are Cold Case (of Course!), Jake 2.0 which I think is superb and am thinking about watching Tru Calling which has just come out over here. Anyone tell me what its like??
Suppose I should watch 24 as well, but as it is now on series 3, I have got a lot of catching up to do!

Hi Naj, thanks for the welcome. Cold Case is still going strong here in the UK. We've still got 4 or 5 episodes to go. Not sure exactly where we are at as I've missed the last couple due to work When does Season 2 start in the US? and when will Season 1 be available on DVD?

Hi buddy,
Well the second season will probably air in September. So far I've not heard a date, though. I've also not heard anything about Cold Case as a dvd release. There's some good eps coming up for you in the remaining 4-5 pes and the last ep is kinda interesting as well.
So does that mean since you are in the UK that your season 2 will be delayed also or will they pick it up there at the same time it airs in the US? I don't know how those things work.

We are usually miles behind you. They are also still playing the third season of 24 over here, which is well behind you. The first Season of Jake 2.0 has just finished here, so that will give you an idea of how far behind we are!!

I haven't watched Joan of Arcadia, and judging by the lack of people talking about it over here, nor have most people. JOAN OF ARCADIA is broadcast on Living TV which sounds to me like a limited network (like our cable networks). Only a few of the messageboard members I talk to have seen it. Altho, there is another UKer who downloads various American shows and he has become a JoA fan, too. The main programmes I am watching are Cold Case (of Course!), Jake 2.0 which I think is superb and am thinking about watching Tru Calling which has just come out over here. Anyone tell me what its like?? You probably already know that JAKE 2.0 was canceled fairly early in the season. I don't know how many episodes are available. I watched TRU CALLING pretty regularly even tho it isn't high on my list of favorites. It's a formula show like EARLY EDITION (if you're familiar with that). However, they have the formula down and it plays well within it. What's more: it gets better as the season progresses. Nice little surprises along the way. And the last episodes were pretty darn good.

No televsion? Ah, there was I time I hardly watched TV. You do find other things to do with the time. TV came to town in the mid 60s. It was my downfall. So how is the Seattle weather really? Ain't telling.

When does Season 2 start in the US? Television seasons usually start in September or October. There are a few series that start later. I noticed that ALIAS will start in January with the result that it will air continuously without the midseason repeats which plague other series trying to stretch 22 episodes over 9 months.
