I can't figure out how to do the quote thing where you can pull down something from a prior post and have it show up in a box on the current post.

Michelle, just click on the "quote" icon in the upper-right corner of each message. That will open up the message reply page with all the code pre-written in the message input box.
You can also make quotes manually by using tags. For example:
Shakesphere once said, <quote>To be or not to be.</quote>
...except you would use square brackets " [ " and " ] " instead of angle brackets. It looks like this with square brackets:
Shakesphere once said,
That link at the top of this thread goes through all the other tags. You have to scroll down a lot to get to the post that explains it, though.

HELP! I am trying to set up a live chat for my students to discuss material at once. Can you explain to me how to do it in detail(I'm computer illiterate) THANKS Hi koufax.. Sorry, I didn't see this, but if you wish to start your own chat room then may I suggest this site: www.addonchat.com/They do have "free" edition if you wish to try it out. We have our own chat room not with proboard (which is Look Again) but it is embedded in our board. Now if you want just your own "Live" chat please read this site. They basically explain how to set up and if you have any problems, you can sign up for their support room and ask questions. They're pretty helpful. Now if you want a fancier chat room, then you have to pay. Like you see in this site; it explains it all. Good luck

Syntax of quotes:
[ quote author=*name* board=*board name*=*board id* post=*post id* ]*The quoted text*[ /quote ]
*your response to the quoted text*
Syntax: [ quote ] Hello [/ quote ]
To quote, simply click the "Quote" button on another persons post and write your response to it below the [ /quote ]. The board will fill in the variables (*name*, *board id* etc.) on its own if you use the "Quote" button.
