In real life most murder victims knew their killer (either family or friend) and it may be cliche but would we watch a cop show if each case would seem impossible? Anyway...Toddsmitts, I would also like to hear Crane's actual voice, know why they don't use it. Unfortunatelly, aside from CC, he just did two movies and in one he played really minor past BTW, he's looks remind me of Sam Fisher from Splinter Cell games and he would be perfect for that role Ninja, what Stillman said to the corupted detective is so true, that you make a case against one boss and when next comes then you make a case against that one and so one. I believe that that's your job as law enforcement officer yet if you work in that field and you don't see things changing it may be easy to lose your will and passion for the job and it's easy to 'cross to the dark side'

Most victims of violent crimes know their attacker. Either because it's family or a friend or a co-worker or a student they see in class every day....at some point, the victim and their attacker will have crossed paths. This is especially true for crimes of a sexual nature. So it's not surprising to me that the majority of perps on Cold Case are somehow connected to the victim, rather than being just a random stranger. Most cop shows tend to draw heavily on real life, because it lends an air of authenticity to what they're doing and hoping to accomplish.
I can understand how it can be a tad bit trite and cliched, but again.....if it was constantly a random person each time committing these crimes, that too would get old fast.

At least this murder was more planned and not the "heat of the moment" killings they like to do. Jack was killed by his older brother so he wouldn't be dishonored... yet in the end was found out anyway.

Seriously. I mean, it's okay that you hated it, everyone has differing opinions. But this is a discussion board, so you should at least discuss your opinion a little bit.

I knew I'd get a less than favourable reaction for simply stating I hated it with no reasoning, but sometimes you just get an episode that doesn't grab you but you can't figure why. I simply didn't really get into this one.
I felt the same about Witness Protection last Season, again I just didn't feel anything and only really stuck out watching for the sake of watching because I have seen every episode and at least want to keep that going.
Sorry if I can't be more clear - it is just one of those gut reactions that I just can't put my finger on.

After a long week and a half I achieved to watch the ep...!! As for the case, another victim killed by a close relative and a victim who fought for the good but he got beaten by the bad (the only difference was that his girlfriend's death was the motive to all this.). Interesting case though with the Chinese people and Chinatown.
Nice the combination with the storyline with Saccardo. This man seems to be a piece of work finally...!! Now is he dirty too? But who says that a person like Saccardo can't trully love a woman? The scene at the shore was really good but the sound was horrible!! The buzz from the sea was too much over the voices. I like this whole turn. Lil is actually in love with the "dark side"! However I didn't like that she didn't start questionning or she didn't even seem to have serious thoughts or inhibitions, except with the bracelet but she finally took it!

Rest assured that if somebody had just wrote, "I loved it!" we would ask for elaboration on that as well.

What is the name of Stillman's partner in '83? Or did he change partners quite a bit?

Finally saw this episode and I liked it.
I did think the ending was rushed as to the shooting but it was sad that his brother killed him but his mother got revenge on him by disowning him.
I also think it's sad that the some cultures that you don't talk to the police.
I loved the scene with Stillman and I can't think of his name but it was in the interrogation room.

This was a really strange episode. I found it really boring, but then the ending montage made me tear up. The ending saved it from being a bad episode. First, they used Sting's Every Breath You Take. Then you had the scene of Jack's mother and Tam's father sitting together, and then they saw Jack and Tam's ghost together. So sweet. I know people have complained about the lack of detectives seeing ghosts, but I actually think it's more meaningful if a loved one gets to see them- especially if they never got to say goodbye the first time. I also loved the sister and brother reuniting with Kat's help.
It's funny how the team looked down on the corrupt cop, considering the actions of most of them in the rest of the season. While this cop took bribes to avert justice, the team has a nasty habit of taking justice into their own hands. I'm not sure that's any better.
