Thanks for the info, boxman. Interesting stuff. I still feel the same as I did upon first viewing. I realize this must be a true story but I can't believe that many boys went around with constant beaten up faces (especially young white males) and no one questioned them or did anything about it. But I guess it's just like everything else. What's right in front of us we ignore if we don't wanna get involved - or cover up.
ETA: Loved Vera's expressions at the end with his g/f. ;D

I just watched this one last night on my DVR and...it was really, really hard to watch the very end when we find out how it all happened. I had to turn away when Tanner's Dad started....yea.
Jarring.

I gave this one a Good. Yep, that scene was terrible! Tanner's dad was so creepy. I loved when Tanner confronted his father. It was intense...

I have to say I wasn't very impressed by this episode.
Firstly, I've seen the whole Fight Club theme played out a lot on crime shows, and I found it boring the first time. I couldn't understand why James decided to start fighting. I don't think the show adequatly showed his transformation. It just seemed as if he was all "My dad's overbearing, so I'll punch some kids up"
You would think a private prep school would care when kids came covered in bruises. Surely they have some responsibilities to investigate and make sure kids aren't being abused or bullied?
I really don't like the really recent cases, unless the show can make a very good reason for them. One year is really not enough to be a proper cold case. It's not that dramatic when they show the flashback and everyone looks pretty much the same. I know they had a lot of budget concerns, but surely a ten year old case wouldn't have cost that much more? (Especially since all the characters are in uniforms or suits, so you don't even have to worry about fashions!). I think five years should have been their absolute minimum. There's been the occasional excellent recent case, but most of them fall flat. I also can't help thinking what kind of crummy homicide detectives are in the active homicide teams, because they don't seem to do any investigating at all!

Also, this episode is listed under Season Five episodes when it's a Season Four episode.

I think this episode was very decent but it wasn't high level. I loved the atmosphere from college, it is something I like very much. I didn't really enjoyed the story line when it came to the bare-knuckle scene but I guess that is just a personal feeling.
