So I just got finished watching this episode and I hope this is a sign of things to come on CC season 6. It was like the writers took everything that I didn't like from season 5 and they went in the opposite direction. First of all, I am so excited to be seeing older cases. My general criteria is this: if they need different actors for flashbacks and present day stuff, it's old enough for me. I also loved that they infused this episode with some much needed humor after the angstapalooza that was season 5. It just reminded me how utterly awesome these characters really are. I also love how Scotty kind of sort called Saccardo out for dressing like a teenager. lol. Speaking of which, that guy is actually starting to grow on me. Who knew? Anyway I loved this episode and I hope that the writers continue in this direction. YAY!

Pacing was much better this week, but something is still ever so slightly off-kilter. Can't put my finger on what, or even pinpoint any specific scenes or moments to demonstrate it, but nonetheless, something just feels... odd. I think I understand what you're talking about here, but I haven't really bothered to analyze it myself. I kind of like it, to tell you the truth. I know I'd be much more irritated if I could feel that "rhythm" in an episode--I'd feel as if the writers were getting very formulaic in their scripting. I think it's a trade-off one has to expect because each episode is really only about 42:00 minutes of material. (BTW, this is one of the reasons why I like Veena's episodes. She definitely writes stories that turns in ways that aren't predictable to me.) Still, I get a little peeved that I keep forgetting to turn around a desk clock near my television when Cold Case is on, because when I glance there and see that it's 9:55PM, I know immediately that the case is going to get wrapped up. I've mentioned earlier on the "Dollhouse" thread (in the "Other Shows" area) that FOX-TV is experimenting with cutting commercial time out from some of their shows this season. It's an experiment they're calling "Remote-Free TV". As a result, a few shows are getting about 50:00 minutes of material, versus the typical 42:00 minutes. Tonight's T:TSCC had limited commercial interruption, and I have to say it was FANTASTIC. The extra time they had for 2x05 "Goodbye to All That" definitely made me feel that I got a solid hour of entertainment. It's not Cold Case's fault, but I've always felt that this show has a tendency to feel "rushed", and that a lot of important developmental scenes have been cut to fit the show in it's timeslot. I think CBS should seriously examine FOX's experiment, because procedurals like Cold Case can definitely benefit from the added minutes: www.reuters.com/article/televisionNews/idUSN1633809620080516My general criteria is this: if they need different actors for flashbacks and present day stuff, it's old enough for me. Ah! Good point! This episode also had some really good past/present actor pairs too.

So, it was nice to see something new and totally within the character of Lilly because we know that she lies in interrogations (as far back as the pilot when she lied about being a victim of domestic abuse). We know Lilly's had some problems with drinking and had a rough childhood, so as far as I am concerned she is stretching the truth rather than lying. She draws on her own experience to create a rapport with a suspect. In this case Lilly used her knowledge of her own drinking to talk to a drug addict.

I had to vote for one of this season's best! This episode made me cry because It made me dream again even if I am facing one of the hardest moments in my life... =) Some people said they did not like Laura, I really loved her, she was the kind of person the world needs in these horrible moments... I felt identified with Laura who wanted to help these poor people because If we help poor people Crime will decrease(I say it because I live in a country with high levels of crime) Talking about the show, I liked the final song, the actors, I loved it when Renaldo saw Laura...It's one of my favorite episodes ever!
BUT.. Have anyone seen that they are not putting dates in the beginning of the episode as they have done before?

Have anyone seen that they are not putting dates in the beginning of the episode as they have done before? I had not noticed that €duardo, but you are correct. They did at the beginning of "Glory Days" so it is not a change of policy across the whole season.

I had to rewatch this one because it didn't hold my attention as I felt it should. It was somewhere between Good and Excellent. I agree with Collider, Laura didn't come off as a great inspirational teacher. I guess the scene with the newspapers was suppose to represent that. Another thing was Kenneth. In the flashbacks he looked to be about 35. So at present he's about 52? He looked 65. Anyway this is an example of how one person, Laura and her death affected people. What I don't understand is why Renaldo wasn't taken in at the end for withholding information on Laura's death. He seemed to walk away free. As with last week we had some great and comical detective scenes. Heck, I love being entertained by Vera and the gang. Everyone has mentioned all the scenes already so I won't go into them. I wasn't all that impressed with the music selections but felt there was going to be a R.E.M ending song like possibly Shiny Happy People. That wasn't the song but R.E.M. did close out the ep. I did enjoy Lilly's final interrogation of Kenny and we saw some of her spunk with Margaret. It was nice to see! All in all it was another Good episode.

I think I'm going to have rewatch this episode again, because it didn't quite grab me from the get go. I will say that I was pleasantly shocked that they didn't use a ton of rap music. I mean they used it, but it wasn't the only type of music used.
I kind of knew the killer was that one teacher when he first appeared on the show. I'm not sure how to describe it, but lately it's become easy for me to guess who the killer is just by observing their eyes, their body language, and their surroundings. (anyone remember the S1 episode Huburus? (or however it's spelled.) I made the guess that the professor was the killer, because the word "LIE" is seen on the chalkboard behind him.
And, does anyone still think that the victim(s) who appear at the end are still a part of someone's imagination? Because the look that that one guy gave was all "WTF? why am I seeing my dead teacher?"
I also liked the interactions between the detectives during this little pranking war. By the way, Jeffries shirt being pink, someone tell me that was a prank too.
I'll have to give this one a good.

Yeah, This is one of the few times The person who sees the victim is not like... This is normal... when he was the adult BUT When he flashback-ed to when he was a teenager he smiled... so It could be his imagination... I LOVED THIS EPISODE A LOT! I LOVE COLD CASE

I certainly wondered that but I don't think it's the case. Here are a shot from the Bad Reputation scene and one of the phone picutre: In Bad Reputation Lilly was wearing a dark coat and was not pulling a goofy face for the camera. She was not happy at all. In the phone pic Lilly is wearing a red coat, it looks like she's outside and is pulling a goofy face. To me the phone pic showed that they had been spending time together.

I liked the episode and the part about schools is sad and they way things are.
I liked how Vera lost his tie but if I was a guy, I'd be tiffed that someone cut my tie.
I thought it was Renaldo but it surprised me that it was actually the teacher.
I thought Renaldo did get arrested.

This episode didn't do it for me... I'm not sure why. Also, to my knowledge, this is one of the few times the doer didn't confess. And that being the case, I can't imagine him being convicted at trial. This is one of the times I wish we could have seen what happens after the arrest trial wise.

I loved this episode.
Laura was a great victim. I liked that she wasn't a natural and at first had trouble reaching out to the kids. She really did manage to get through to them in the end.
I liked that Renaldo got his redemption in the end, and thrilled that he was the one who saw Laura's ghost.
Love the music, especially the ending song.
