I agree with Naj completely. This was definately the worst episode of the season. It had potential with an Elvis-like story but the plot was below average.

Excellent analysis as usual boxman. I noticed the rain and Scotty as well, but I missed Lilly drinking water. I love your attention to detail (as I'm sure the cinematographer, director, etc on CC do as well).

Yeah, along with the Art Director, their work makes this show very enjoyable for me to watch. I like the way this show is styled pretty much the most of any show I've ever watched on television.

Has anyone got any clips of this episode? Me, being Scottish, hasn't seen this episode or any of Season 5 It sounds like quite a good episode and I really want to hear about Scotty & Will. That sounded quite funny.

I absoloutely loved this episode! I thought the music was great and there were a lot of different suspects. I like to guess who the killer was but this one had me guessing right to the end. I think the last montage was great. The music fitted really well and I like how they tackled more racism issues. The scene with Scotty and Will was so funny! I couldn't stop laughing all the way through it. And as usual, Vera was funny too! I also enjoyed how Bingo followed his dream. Ok...so I'm a sucker for big dreams...so sew me ;D This story had a good meaning so I enjoyed it! I also felt really sorry for Scotty in this. He always puts up this act like he's a big tough guy but he just seemed so defeated when he was talking to Will. Like the fight had been taken out of him Anyway did anybody notice how modern day Miranda looked like Meryl Streep from "Devil wears Prada" and "Cold Case" Miranda worked in clothing??? Meryl's character name was Miranda also...I wonder if it was an inside joke(??) Modern Day Miranda does seem a lot like Meryl Streep in Devil Wears Prada! I never noticed that. She's played by the same actress who plays 'Grams' in Charmed! I worked that out all by myself! ;D

Meryl's character name was Miranda also...I wonder if it was an inside joke(??) Ahh... I was lucky to catch "The Devil Wears Prada" (2006) on Shotime Thursday night. I think you're right, SkonyGirl. There definitely appears to be an allusion to Meryl Streep's Miranda in this episode. --Now did you notice that Tracy Thoms is also in this movie?? Tracy's character is named "Lily". There's also another tie-in to how both the movie and this episode have the word "Devil" in the title. --At one point in the movie, they say how if Miranda Priestly was a man, no one would question how she lives her life and would be considered a successful businessman. That was interesting for me to hear, as the same is true for Lilly as Philly's first female homicide detective. --Lilly had to deal with 1) a shooting, and 2) a death of a loved one. Miranda Allison also had to deal with both. While she wasn't shot like Lilly, her boyfriend died of a gunshot wound. Miranda Allison eventually went to therapy, as what Lilly is about to undergo. While there wasn't much work available for Miranda Allison when she first returned to civilian life, she eventually found success as a businesswoman in the fashion industry. All these factors taken together appears to be a positive foreshadowing for Lilly as she deals with the shooting, her mom's death, and her current therapy sessions.

... well, it was fun, and I liked it... but it didn't really make an impression for some reason. The case was well orchestrated and I liked the Scotty subplot but... sort of a neutral episode to me. I'm giving it an "ok".

This one is tonight's ep at my place. According to the short thread (only 2 pages) I assume you don't think this is one of the best episodes. I haven't read your posts yet, because I don't want to spoil it for myself. You'll hear how I liked it tomorrow.

Watched it I gave it a 'good'. It wasn't as shocking as other episodes, but it was still pretty good, to my opinion. I don't know really much about the whole American Rock and Roll history. As a matter of fact, I don't really know anything about the period 1950-1980. That's why Cold Case always makes such a deep impact at me. I believe what they say at once, because it seems they know much about it. You know, the more convinced they show me what happened the sooner I believe it I liked Bingo. I wonder what had happened with him when he just stayed alive! He might have become a bigger rockstar than Elvis. I don't know much about Elvis either.. Just the general things I loved the part about him and the mother, when he sings Oh, and I loved when that mother says: 'As a teacher or a nurse?' Like those are the only options! I wouldn't want to live in that time if I could only be a teacher or a nurse! Not even a cop! What fun is it if you can't even become a cop.. I guess I already mentioned a couple of times Kat isn't really my favorite cop. I loved "Josie chippy" Sutton more. And Kat didn't replace Lilly as my favorite character. She always irritated me a bit. But now Lilly is deeply depressed (her face gets whiter every day, and with a little sweat on it she looks terribly ill!) Kat just fills the hole which existed. She makes the show a little fun again! I love the way she says: 'Hell no!' Makes me laugh . Anyhow, Kat is getting better and better. She doesn't irritate me anymore. I love having her on the show. She's a big part of it. I wouldn't want to miss her anymore Keep on the good work, Tracie! Pity enough we didn't get no part about Lilly and her shrink. But as a lot of people have already said; You wanna watch problems? Go watch a soap! I'm glad the case still plays the main role in Cold Case. This episode did had a lot of personal parts. I'm not sure I really like that. I noticed things like interrogations and opening the box and stuff don't end like they did before in this season. At first they always had an endingsentence and you saw a bit of Philly and another part came. Now it's always silent fo a while and there comes something about Lilly and the Boss, or about Scotty. Or Lilly's phone rings. That kind of things. I do loved how they did that. Lilly called Nick and it switched over to Nick. But I didn't like Lilly in the store. She seemed so ill! Scotty makes me bored. I've now had a bit enough about his anger attacks and his temper. I've always liked Scotty, but he's a bit boring right now. But the part about Will and Scotty was brilliant. Must have been fun to film that! I'm sure the cast had to laugh . Will was great in this episode I hope he gets more time in this season! Unfortunately I got to get dinner now. But it's Easter dinner, so it's nice Byebye!

I really enjoyed the first half of this episode – but then the second half seemed to go kind of downhill. I didn’t really think the cousin’s motive was that convincing, and I had to laugh when they brought up the thing about the substance on the sleeve showing he brushed against a record. It just feels weird when Cold Case uses science.
I thought it was worth it for the ‘team dynamics’, though. Scotty acting like a sulky teenager and making all those not-so-subtle digs at the rest of the team was hilarious, and I loved the way Jeffries straightened him out – I love Scotty, and even I wanted to shout at him by then. But then that scene did also give you a glimpse of the fact that Scotty’s scared more than anything, and that’s why he’s acting out, which made a lot of sense.
Jeffries “yelling” was priceless, as was that look Vera gave the guy at the store when he started talking about karma and offered him the berries. And I enjoyed the ending montage, so it wasn’t all bad!
I agree Khaya ! I always like it when Kat comes onscreen because she usually has something funny to say that lightens the episode up a bit, especially with Lilly and Scotty being kind of depressed/angry at the moment.

Me too, I'm from the few who liked this episode very much! I loved it and I found it pretty interesting as for the information.
Maybe it wasn't so shocking. Maybe it wasn't so out of the clichets. But it was so "human" and with a subject a bit rare in series... Bingo facing all this, not only because he wanted to live from a music not-socially accepted but because he wanted to live from creating, in general. He wanted to live as an artist. When at the same time all the others didn't understand and they just looked for stability and security.
Two quotes that mean so much to every person who wants to try something in the life, to every artist specially. It's the answers that the artists give or look for or hang on... Bingo finally paid with his life his will to show and change...
The storyline with Scotty was good. His behaviour and his lack of trust to the team showed the dark side of him. However, the few words with Jeffries were enough to make him look clearly. He was just scared reacting angrilly (to all, except Lil). I loved it when Jeffries said that they should shout in the interrogation even there was no need...!
