Anyone watching?? The victim was called "Icarus" because he had angel wings and fell from the sky into a church!! And Scotty Valens is a guest in this episode!!

What did you think?? I usually *never* watch the CSI shows, but this was really interesting to see Scotty there, especially with the Greek reference right there at the start of the episode!

I thought it was a great... ... show-within-a-show! And I distinctly remember we had a discussion about CC collaborating with another tv series, am I wrong? But I really like how they added Scotty into the show. It seemed to flow well. Yea, I liked how they began the show too. It reminded me of Cirque du Soleil's creation telling the story of Icarus.

Yeah! For someone like me who doesn't view it regularly, both cases were very interesting to follow and flowed quite well together.

This must be my week for "I don't normally watch" shows ... LOL! Same is true with CSI: New York; don't normally tune in but did so to see Danny's appearance - and it was really good! In fact, I found myself really enjoying his portrayal of Scotty, and how it meshed (and also clashed) with the CSI group. There was a nice pace to the ep, and the story was pretty interesting. All in all, wouldn't mind seeing more cross-over eps with the CC group - I like that it gets them out of their cold-job routine, gets them into a different environment and shows off their additional skills as detectives. It was a nice change of pace.

I watch the various CSIs as they are broadcast here in the UK, rather than bothering to keep up with the US via other means. We are about 2 months behind the US with CSI: NY at the moment. I decided make an exception this time, out of curiosity. Of course I found out a couple of things that are probably spoilers for the next few shows.
Personally I found Scotty's appearance a little awkward. Not that it was bad or anything, but I just didn't feel he was particularly connected back to Cold Case, other than the mentions of Philly. A more complete cross over episode would have been better, like CSI: Miami and CSI: NY did with the previous CSI when they started. Start in CC with a new case and track it through to CSI: NY.
Plus the early comments on the show suggested that there was big news about Stella and who she really was. That certainly didn't play out. Yes we found out something about her past but it wasn't anything that changed her current position.

Nice idea, RichE. I saw the Miami/NY one, I think (where Horatio goes up to NY to solve case/make good on the promise he made to a little boy ... ? I think that was it ... when NY was just beginning). I was curious to know more about Stella ... does she have a bit of a curious past, or was it just set-up to seem that way for this episode?

I think that was it ... when NY was just beginning). I can't remember the exact details of the cross-over episodes but at some point during the series that existed before (eg CSI:LV) at least one of the main characters from the future show (eg CSI:Miami) appeared in the series (eg CSI:LV). I'm not aware of much from her past. She suffered an attack by someone (weird artist boyfriend I think) in the previous series, which I think was subtly referred to, but otherwise nothing much. The info we'd heard about this episode suggested, to me at least, we would learn some shocking news that would change our view of Stella. Perhaps she wasn't who she claimed. When Scotty was talking about DNA evidence I was expecting that sort of news. Danny (in CSI:NY) has a checkered past, which was alluded to several times in earlier series and eventually came to ahead. But again it seemed lacking when it did come out.

I thought he was there to be obnoxious to yet another strong female character... Heh heh heh... Just kidding. But I thought the way that the evidence of the Philly "old cold case" was buried in dirt made an interesting symbolic tie-in to "digging up Stella's past" so to speak.

I liked this episode but since I never watched CSI:NY before it was hard for me to understand the main characters. I think there was something between Stella and Scotty I think he did like her( that's just my opinion). To me Scotty came off a little pushier then on CC, trying to prove that he knows everything.
Interesting case, I wonder why they didn't show Scotty talking to any of the squad back home on his cell or even Lilly?? Well all and all it was a good crossover between the two shows.

Hah, I came here as I was curoius what you think of Cold Reveal (the CSI NY episode). I am totally in love with CSI NY and especially with Stella so when Scotty tried to jump on her I wanted to jump on him :] Maaan, he was a guest in NY crime lab and he acted like in the interrogation room in Philly. But I find his appearance rather nice

Pity it wasn't Lil' over there. I would have watched ofcourse! But I'm not a Danny Pino-follower And Scotty isn't my favorite CCcharacter. But it's fun they connect shows with eachother. Thanks for the stuff, RichE. :)You're great .
