Hello sydg!
The last I heard, Cold Case is contracted for seven seasons. I haven't heard anything different.
Was there a news article posted on your french web site? Do you have the article?

Hi sydg,
I don't know anything for sure, but I would be surprised if CBS cancelled CC. It's still a Top 20 show and draws in around 11-15 million viewers a week. Plus, the crime procedural formula seems to be working for the network. Experts have said that it is the only format that seems to have weathered last year's 100-day writer's strike. Where other shows, such as Heroes, are suffering tremendously from it, the crime dramas seem to be relatively unaffected. This gives CBS even more reason to keep it around. The show is contracted through another season (not that that's any guarantee), so I don't think we have to worry. When the contract comes up next season, I imagine CBS will renew it unless something drastic happens (and at this point, I would imagine it would take Kathryn Morris herself leaving for the net to pull the series).

Yeah, I agree, as long as KM is around, they will keep the series. Which is a good thing, because I wouldn't watch it if it didn't have KM/Lily Rush. Or even worse, if they got a cheap KM knockoff to play Lilly if Kathryn left.

I'm very sure that CC is contracted to have at least seven seasons. Since now, I've never heard anything different.

Hello sydg I read that information (although my French isn't better than my English ). I heard the same of the others: the "expected end" of Cold Case is season 7. That's not true. As TVFan said, in America Cold Case has a wide audience, and also in France: www.toutelatele.com/article.php3?id_article=14009

Thanks for posting the source of the article, ali. I'll take your word for it what the article says. Guess I could get my babel fish translator out!

It's not the source about what sydg said ( this is the source) ;D I posted an article which confirm that in France Cold Case has a good audience, because the article she read said that Cold Case hasn't got a good audience: on December 15 Cold Case had more than 5 millions of viewer, with a percentage of audience over the 20%. It's a good score (better than in Italy ).

In fact this source is not a real source ;D but only somebody who asserts things without being based on official sources. In reality the way of which that is formulated, it seemed to mean that he had information on an imminent stop of the series, and that there would be no season 7. But as said TVFan, for the moment season 7 is not officially confirmed, but apparently there is no reason that it is not it. In short, this person caused some fears to the French fans. Yep Ali, audiences are indeed excellent in France, the 4x24 realized the best audience of the season 4 with 7 million viewers.

Not to be a spoilsport, but could someone translate the French article that was posted on page one? Technically, we shouldn't have that much written without a translation, as per Proboards TOS.

i think a lot of it is false, i hear about this and of King of the Hill going off, but as far as i know, they're all still making new eps each week. the one thing that i do know is a lot of great shows like this one get pre-empted by football here. Fox stopped airing all their other shows and the whole EPG shows 24-7 football (with the exception of News and Law and Order)and it appears once that's over basketball is following. CBS is also a sports airer and i hate having it preempt my shows, when it turns off Cold Case they've crossed the line.

I am hoping for a 7th season. I just don't think that CBS would cancel a show that is as popular as Cold Case. It is the main reason I watch CBS. If it does end after 7 seasons, okay but give them a proper send off, instead of like they did with Dr. Quinn back in the day and just yanked it off the air without giving the characters closure.
