Everybody wants to rule the world All for freedom and for pleasure Nothing ever lasts forever Everybody wants to rule the world A 17-year-old girl, blonde and with blue eyes, CATHERINE SORSEY, was waiting for her boyfriend to arrive while watching 'The Breakfast Club'. He was going to Harvard in the fall, so it probably was the last time they could have to be together before his and his twin brother's big move - which she was determined to help with. Yeah, and the fact that her sister seemed to want to kill her every time she saw her with Paul wasn't adding anything good to this situation either. If only Belinda could see the longing looks Jacob, Paul's bro, was throwing her way, she'd be happy and content. Oh well… When the lights get up after the end of the movie, she was dead - somebody slit her throat in the darkness. At the Philadelphia Police Department, we see somebody placing a box in the basement of the Department's building. It contains Catherine Sorsey's picture and leads to suspects and witness statements. On the box, it says: August '85 85-40 Sorsey, C. It was immediately archived and forgotten. PART 1 - LOOKING AGAIN. Lilly Rush was at her desk, doing some paperwork along with her partner, Scotty Valens, when they were paged by their boss, Tom Stillman. "What do you need us for?" asked Lilly, in a curious tone, when they reached the basement. "Lilly, Scotty, meet Catherine Sorsey." Stillman answered. "17 years old, murdered in a theatre in 1985, and as obvious, never solved." "Never say never, boss." Scotty answered. "But why has this case been given to us just now? Is it because it's from 20 years ago?" Lilly asked. "Well, this is kind of complicated to answer." Stillman took a breath, then continued "You see, Paul Rowles died in September 1985, pushed under a train; cold case. But last week, Paul's twin brother, Jacob, went to the cold case unit in Boston, where he now lives, and asked for the case to be reopened and solved. To make a long story short, he was Sorsey's boyfriend, and one of the suspects in her case. So, we're reopening this too." "Hm, interesting." Lilly said. "So, I think we should compare notes with the Cold Case unit from Boston, too." Stillman nodded. "You will do that when you'll get there. You have already two seats booked on the 18:00 flight to Boston. Well, three. Agent Douglas Mabry has worked on the Sorsey case for six years, before having to finally give up, and he'll come with you to Boston." Then he gave the box to Scotty. "Take her with you." Scotty and Lilly left with the box. "So, what about all the witnesses?" Scotty asked. Lilly picked up the witness statements as she sat down to her desk. "Hm… It seems there was only a witness, a Lucy Arnold…" Lilly looks up the name in the town database. "But she died two years ago, Cancer." "Well, maybe we'll have better luck with Boston." Scotty replied. "I hope so." Lilly said, as she looked at the picture of the young girl, who had light brown hair and the bluest eyes she had ever seen. "I really hope so." TBC...

Thank you for the interest. Here is the second part. Notice that part 1 and 2 are happening at the same time, as are part 3 and 4. Marco PART 2 - THE BOSTONIANS. BOSTON PD. COLD CASE UNIT. MUSIC: Everytime You Go Away, Paul Young Hey!, If we can solve any problem Then why do we lose so many tears Oh, and so you go again When the leading man appears Always the same thing Can't you see, we've got everything goin' on and on and on Every time you go away you take a piece of me with you Every time you go away you take a piece of me with you Go on and go free, yeah Maybe you're too close to see I can feel your body move It doesn't mean that much to me I can't go on sayin' the same thing Just can't you see, we've got everything do you even know We Know Every time you go away you take a piece of me with you, oh Every time you go away you take a piece of me with you I can't go on sayin' the same thing 'Cause baby, can't you see, we've got everything goin' on And On and on Every time you go away you take a piece of me with you Every time you go away you take a piece of me with you Agent Mark Shorley was intently looking at the files from Paul Rowles' box. There had to be something, anything, that could help them crack this case. He was really obsessed by this case, or at least that was how George Dempsey, Mark's partner, saw it. "Please, Mark, slow down." He said, his blue eyes filled equally with worry and annoyance "This case can wait. It's from 1985." "Hell no, it can't. It's waited long enough." Mark said, waving Paul's picture up for George to see. "Think about it, George; what if this was your brother, son, boyfriend, anyway a person you care about? You had lost hope of having justice for his death, and you ask for it to be reopened. Would you mind if the Detectives in charge of the case were slacking, even a little?" Mark noticed George's pained expression and said "I thought so." Before the other man could say a word in reply, still holding up Paul Rowles' picture, from which a good looking blond-haired and light-brown-eyed 19-year old looked back at them, a smile evident on his sealed lips. “Hey, guys.” Said Russell Schwartz, the tough guy, the one who, no matter how obstinate the witness or the suspect was, always managed to get something out without compromising the investigation. “What’s up, Russ?” asked Mark. “We’re going to receive a visit from Philadelphia’s Cold Case Unit.” The other man answered. Mark rolled his eyes. “The Sorsey case?” Russell nodded. “The Sorsey case.” “Aww, hell, our guy was cleared; he had been taking a friend to the ER, which was confirmed by the witnesses and the evidence at the time.” Mark retorted. “They think the same person killed both of them… at least, I think.” Russell answered. “But right now, you have an appointment with Officer Sagemiller.” “He’s already here?” Russell nodded again. “Thanks, we’re going.” Mark said. George took the cue and followed his partner. TBC

And here for you, guys is part 3. Thanks for all the compliments. PART 3 – MEMORIES, PART UN. Lilly and Scotty arrived at the airport, where Detective Mabry was already waiting for them. We first see him the way he was in 1985, and he says “You the Cold Case Detectives?” Lilly answers “Yes.” He is still showed like he was in 1985, then there is a quick flash, and we see how he is now. “Well, it’s already 17: 58, they could call us…” The loudspeakers interrupted him, saying “All passengers of the 18:00 flight for Boston, please go to gate 4.” “at any time.” Mabry finished. After a while, already on the flying plane, Lilly began to ask Mabry questions about the Sorsey case. “Well, one thing I know for sure. That boy didn’t kill her.” The sentence confused our young policewoman. “You sure?” she asked. “More than that.” Mabry answered. “He had a solid alibi, and was in the hospital for the whole afternoon. There are tapes in that box,” he pointed at it, “aren’t they?” “Yes.” She said. “So, if he is not the killer…” “Maybe he’s another victim?” Scotty interjected. “Well, exactly what I was trying to say.” Lilly said. “Could you tell us a little more about that day?” she continued, while Scotty continued to read all the paperwork. While he speaks we FLASH to the past; he speaks over the movie which is still going on, a woman screaming while discovering Catherine’s body, Douglas Mabry and a colleague questioning everybody. “It was a hot summer day, in a well-populated theatre, so it was not really easy to convince people to leave the crime scene. A lot wanted to do the investigation themselves, probably because of that old hag on that TV show on CBS… ‘Murder Who Spoke’?” We FLASH back to the plane. Lilly cringed at how that sounded. “’Murder She Wrote’.” Again, a FLASH to 1985. “Well, anyway, somebody had sneaked behind her and slit her throat. It didn’t take a lot of force to do that. We questioned everyone who was in the theatre, including the people at the entrance, and it seemed that this… Lucy Arnold had seen a woman, or a man, or… anyway, somebody with too make-up, well, it was the ‘80s, on, enter the theatre without a ticket, and leaving soon after. We thought she was the killer – I mean, the ‘painted face’ – because of a smudge of make-up found on the victim’s left cheek, but apart from that…” We see Mabry shaking his head in 1985, and then FLASH back to Mabry shaking his head as he narrates. “Nil.” TBC

Here is the new chapter. You'll have to wait a little for the 5th, but I am assuring you it's in the writing stage. Besides, I've already written the ending. Marco PART 4 – MEMORIES, PART ZWEI. Meanwhile, in Boston, the two local Cold Case detectives and officer Stuart Sagemiller were seated around Mark’s desk. “So, officer Sagemiller,” Mark said, “what can you tell us about the Rowles case?” We see Sagemiller the way he was in 1985, and then, after a brief flash, how he is now. “Well, if there hadn’t been Jacob Rowles saying his brother had been pushed under a train, this would have been filed as a suicide. But even with his witnessing statement, we found it really hard to get any lead on this case. We did the best we could, but it wasn’t enough.” He then huffed sadly, “hope you’re luckier.” “We’ll be.” Mark said. You tell us what did you find.” “Well, there was definite evidence Paul Rowles had been pushed under the train, but no evidence that could bring us to who did it, excluding… an earring.” Stuart said as Mark took it out of the box, still sealed in the ‘evidence’ plastic bag. “This one?” he asked. “Yeah.” Sagemiller answered “At first, we thought it was the boy’s, until we noticed that his lobes weren’t pierced.” “Maybe Paul ripped it from his killer’s ear while falling down.” George said. “Fingerprints?” “Paul Rowles, Jacob Rowles, Catherine Sorsey, Belinda Sorsey.” “Well, the only one who doesn’t seem to have an alibi here is Belinda Sorsey. From here, I see she was studying at Harvard too, huh?” Mark said, fishing the police report from ‘Paul’s box’ and reading it. “We didn’t have any witness who had seen her at the station, and she claimed that she had lost it some days before. We thought she could be lying, but we didn’t have enough evidence to sustain a warrant, so…” Sagemiller huffed sadly. “It’s OK, officer Sagemiller. What you told us was more than enough.” Mark said. “And I think a visit to Miss Sorsey is in order.” “Rowles.” George corrected. “Huh?” Mark said, confusion clearly readable in his eyes. “She’s Mrs. Jacob Rowles now.” George continued. “And besides, we have to get the Philadelphia Cold Case Detectives at the airport.” “Hell, George, what do you do everyday instead of waking up, squeeze yourself from the screen-saver?” Mark said, a little irritated by George’s ‘knowitall’ tone. “Better than you, who even forget to shave.” George tossed over his shoulder, used to his partner’s mood swings by now, leaving a confused Mark touching his stubbly chin and then rushing to follow him in the squad car. And it should be me who is followed and he who follows, Mark thought ironically.

PART 5 – SAME JOB, DIFFERENT CITY.
Mark and George arrived in the exact same moment as the plane, and they directed to the gate the passengers of the flight from Philadelphia were going to exit from.
George took out a white piece of paper on which he had written in a readable capital MABRY, RUSH & VALENS, PHILADELPHIA PD, and kept it up.
In a few seconds, the three agents materialized.
Both Mark and Lilly were surprised of seeing each other, but for different reasons.
Mark had thought that L. Rush was a man.
Lilly thought she was seeing Todd Whitley.
“I thought you were in prison, Todd.” She said without thinking.
Scotty, Agent Mabry and George exchanged confused looks while Mark blinked, trying to understand who this Todd was.
“Miss… Rush, isn’t it?” Mark asked Lilly, who nodded. “My name isn’t Todd. I am Agent Mark Shorley, Boston PD, Cold Case Unit, and this is my partner, George Dempsey.” He said, gesturing to George.
“Oh, sorry, it’s just that you look so similar to somebody I arrested for murder, on my first Cold Case. His name was Todd Whitley. Murdered his girlfriend in 1976, beating her to death with a tennis racket.” Then, getting a good look at Mark, she added, “though I should have noticed the difference. He was a murderer, but at least he wasn’t so… scruffy.” Her lips curved up in a smile.
George chuckled quietly, Scotty smiled, while Mark stood there, hands on his slim hips, a bit ticked off by that remark.
“Just don’t.” he said with an icy stare to his partner, who just chuckled more. “Anyway,” he continued, “we were going to talk with Mrs. Belinda Sorsey Rowles. Do you want to come, or you prefer to be left at your hotel?”
Lilly said, “Well, I’d prefer to get immediately on the case, and about my partner…” she said, even as she knew what Scotty was going to say.
“I agree with Lilly. First in, first out.” Scotty said.
“Ok, so the Rowles residence it is.” George said while they all entered the car and Mark turned the engine on.
“Ready or not, Mrs. Rowles,” Mark said so low, only George, who was seated beside him, could hear, “here we come.”

Sorry for the delay, buuut... here it is, the latest part of my story!
Read on, guys!
PART 6 – BELINDA MYSTERIA
In a few minutes, our little group had arrived in front of the Rowles house.
Wordlessly, they got out of the car, and went to the door, Mark and George leading.
After two knocks, the door opened, and Belinda Sorsey appeared, as she was in 1985. “Yes?” she said, a little annoyed, then her appearance flashed to 2005.
“Mrs. Belinda Rowles?” Mark asked, unnecessarily, and Belinda nodded. “I am Mark Shorley, Cold Case Unit, Boston PD, this is my partner George Dempsey, and these are agents Rush, Valens and Mabry from Philadelphia PD. We are here to ask you some questions about the murder of your sister and the one of your husband’s brother.”
Mark noticed a flash of uncertainty in Belinda’s face before she said “Oh, right, Cathy and Paul. Come on, come on, enter.”
She led them to the living room, and said “Come on, sit down.”
They did so, and Mark wasted no time in asking her “Do you remember anything about the day your husband’s brother died?”, at the same time Lilly asked “Do you remember anything about the day your sister died?”
“Well, I don’t remember very much of either, but… well, the day Paul died…
FLASHBACK
MUSIC – CRAZY FOR YOU, MADONNA
Swaying room as the music starts Strangers making the most of the dark Two by two their bodies become one
I see you through the smokey air Can't you feel the weight of my stare You're so close but still a world away What I'm dying to say, is that
I'm crazy for you Touch me once and you'll know it's true I never wanted anyone like this It's all brand new, you'll feel it in my kiss I'm crazy for you, crazy for you
Trying hard to control my heart I walk over to where you are Eye to eye we need no words at all
Slowly now we begin to move Every breath I'm deeper into you Soon we two are standing still in time If you read my mind, you'll see
I'm crazy for you Touch me once and you'll know it's true I never wanted anyone like this It’s all brand new, you'll feel it in my kiss You'll feel it in my kiss because I'm crazy for you Touch me once and you'll know it's true I never wanted anyone like this It’s all brand new, you'll feel it in my kiss I'm crazy for you, crazy for you Crazy for you, crazy for you
It's all brand new, I'm crazy for you And you know it's true I'm crazy, crazy for you
I had gone to the station to help the guys, but then heard them talking about the death of Catherine.
Well, to be exact, they were fighting. At that time, you know, Jake wore a single earring, and when he pushed his brother under the train, Paul ripped it from his right ear.
FLASH Mark listened to her narration with a ‘I-don’t-believe-you’ face. He could tell when a witnessing was a lie, and this looked like a textbook example.
But before he could ask any questions, she said “I’m sorry, but I don’t remember anything about Catherine’s murder, but something from the day before.
FLASH
MUSIC: INTO THE GROOVE, MADONNA
And you can dance For inspiration
Come on I'm waiting
Get into the groove Boy you've got to prove Your love to me, yeah
Get up on your feet, yeah Step to the beat Boy what will it be
Music can be such a revelation Dancing around you feel the sweet sensation
We might be lovers if the rhythm's right I hope this feeling never ends tonight
Only when I'm dancing can I feel this free At night I lock the doors, Where no one else can see
I'm tired of dancing here all by myself Tonight I wanna dance with someone else
Get into the groove Boy you've got to prove Your love to me, yeah
Get up on your feet, yeah Step to the beat Boy what will it be
Gonna get to know you in a special way This doesn't happen to me every day
Don't try to hide it love wears no disguise I see the fire burning in your eyes
Only when I'm dancing can I feel this free At night I lock the doors, Where no one else can see
I'm tired of dancing here all by myself Tonight I wanna dance with someone else
Get into the groove Boy you've got to prove Your love to me, yeah
Get up on your feet, yeah Step to the beat Boy what will it be
Live out your fantasy here with me Just let the music set you free
Touch my body, and move in time Now I now you're mine You've got to... Live out your fantasy here with me Just let the music set you free
Touch my body, and move in time Now I now you're mine You've got to...
Get into the groove Boy you've got to prove Your love to me, yeah
Get up on your feet, yeah Step to the beat Boy what will it be
Get into the groove Boy you've got to prove Your love to me, yeah
Get up on your feet, yeah Step to the beat Boy what will it be
I had come home early, and Cathy and Paul were making out on the couch.
I hid, and watched as Paul got up. He was completely naked, and I guess that meant they had had sex.
FLASH
“Well, in the autopsy says she had consensual sex, but that very day.” Scotty commented. “And I really doubt that even a couple of horny teenagers in the ‘80s could have been so stupid, having sex where anyone coming in could find them out...” He said in a lower tone to Lilly, who just nodded.
FLASH
Well, anyway I knew my sister was just leading him on, and after she’d had her fun with him, he was going to be history.
So we spoke a little.
Needless to say, she didn’t agree with me, and the talk became a fight.
She was out for blood, and after that she didn’t speak to me anymore, until we found out she had been killed.”
“Yeah, well,” Mark said, “thanks for your help, but uh… could we talk with her husband, now?”
“Oh, well, yes you can.” She said, as her son Mark and daughter Helen entered the room and asked “Who are these people?”
“Well…” Belinda said, “they’re from the Police, and they are investigating on Aunt Cathy and Uncle Paul’s deaths.”
“Ah, you mean, like that show on CourtTV? Cold Case Files?” Helen asked.
“Yes, but this is for real.” Belinda retorted. “Where’s your Dad, by the way?”
“He is coming.” Mark, her son, said. “He had to park the car.”
And indeed, after a few seconds, Jacob Rowles appeared as he was in 1985. “Hello.” He said to the Boston PD officers. “You already here?”
“We had some questions to ask you and your wife.” Mark answered. “By the way, these are Agents Lillian Rush, Scott Valens and Douglas Mabry, from Philadelphia. They’re investigating on the Catherine Sorsey case.”
“Rush? Aren’t you the one who seems to have a knack for solving cold cases?” Jacob asked.
“Well, yes.” Lilly answered. “But I wouldn’t talk about ‘knack’. I’d better say it’s the ‘power of a second look’, as cheesy as it may sound.”
“So, can we hear what you remember of those days?” George asked, noticing that Belinda and the kids had left.
“Sure.” Was Jacob’s answer.
