I'm wondering if we have enough members here who dabble in making music videos to run a competiton.Post season is a good time to dabble. ;D We'd need to choose a theme. If you are interested or know someone who would be interested -let them know about it and have them stop by here and indicate their interest.  |

I might not be entering at all. Hey coldbones, that's kinda another question to you video makers. What is a reasonable time to allow for a competition for a new video? One month? Plus maybe whoever indicates interest could you all decide a time length. I mean we could have the competition begin in early September and have the voting right before the new season begins. So - you all need to talk it out on this thread as well. |

No, I don't ;D. My youtube friends are so much better than me. I only hope to be half as great as them someday. Relax, your videos are wonderful . A wise man once said, "Everything happens eventually" *winks winks*. I'd bet you know where that quote is from . Time Limit - My answer to this is that "It depends". A week seems fine, but mostly a month seems pretty reasonable. It really depends on the vidder and their idea. Some of my projects take a week, some take up to 1 month, and I have a huge project that has been taking me half a year and it still isn't finish yet because it's a complicated project....a Brennally video (Brennan from "Bones" and Lilly from "Cold Case") using scenes from both shows and trying to find the perfect sexual scene from "The L Word" to depict their love for each other when they were young ;D. |

Usually these challenges have a theme......and sometimes there's the "song" challenge where you can only use certain songs from the contest creator to make your fanvid out of.

We could make the first competition from one of ones you mention. Of course the list is limitless. Example: Angry Scotty. We could also have a future one on a Season 1-2-3-4- or 5 trailer of 2 minutes maximum. When you say "character study" what do you mean? |

A character study is a theme where you basically focus on one character. No shipping involved. Just what the character has gone through and how they've overcome or how they're fighting it etc.
IE: Scotty's girlfriend comitting suicide: How Scotty handled it, Lilly's near-death experience, Lilly's relationship with her family, Stillman almost retiring.
Of course, with a character study it can be AU. AU=Alternate Universe. It's basically something that's didn't happen on the show, but the vidder manipulates their watchers into thinking it happened.

I have made videos, but they are only picture slideshows. So thatwouldn't qualify. I would only be in if I can actually get my Movie Maker to WORK.....unlike stupid PHOTOSHOP for the banner contest.....pfff.
