With all the talk about this season's finale over in the episode forum, I thought I'd post a poll to find out which finale is your favorite. So, which is your favorite and why? You can select up to 2 finales.

Seasons 1 & 2, for sure. The show was just better then.

"Stalker," definitely. It had all the ingredients of a great finale (perhaps too many, since I found myself wishing at several times that it was two hours instead of just one): a good case, some personal stuff with the detectives, some great Scotty and Lilly moments, and a really dramatic cliff-hanger. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. Good stuff.

Although I haven't seen Ghost of My Child, I'll go with The Woods, no contest. I liked the music, the continuity, the suspense, the sinister-ness of George...Even my father was impressed with this episode, which is no small feat.

The Woods, still and forever. The quintessence of this show.

Definitely can't go past the woods. That was not only the best episode of CC ever, but one of the best episodes of anything I have seen on TV (IMO) Lover's Lane was pretty good as well. Joseph was absolutely deplorable. Watched it once hated it so much that I never went back into it. Waste of space on my computer, as well as 45 minutes. The show hit rock bottom. I liked Stalker, but unfortunately the followup was poor in terms of ditching the events from that episode (not as poor as post woods though) Haven't seen s5 finale, and by the sounds of things isn't worth me downloading. I'll wait til it airs (if that ever happens)

The Woods.
In my opinion it is THE season's finale. I was so impressed...I didn't sleep that night.

The Woods. As much as I liked Lover's Lane and Stalker, The Woods was just. Too. Darn. Good! Everything clicked in this episode. That scene in the attic (aka "the woods") is still one of the show's best.

"The Woods." No question about it. It has never gotten better than that episode. I will say I enjoyed "Lover's Lane" and "Joseph" for the Lilly personal stuff. LL had an interesting case, IMHO, and I loved the idea of Mark falling for Lilly because she reminded him so much of the true love of his life. That scene with the two of them out on the steps ... so great. I know I'm in the minority on "Joseph," but I liked this episode a lot given it was interesting to see one of those infamous pics of dead people come off the night stand and come to life (which George tormented her about). And the guy was a decent bloke. Also liked watching Lilly do something she would not have normally done - sort of lived a little, went with her heart, tried something new. I swear, I'll take that any day over what she's become of late (though with possible improvement pending). Did not care for "Stalker" or "Ghost of my Child" whatsoever. Rank as the bottom two of the series for me. Great idea for a thread, TVFan!

I liked Stalker, really intense scenes btwn the instremental music and the fact they disguised the voice until the end was very clever. Must say that episode kept me on the edge of my seat until the end, good acting by all. I did like how all the flashbacks started and ended with a click going back into a negetive after the film has been developed. Great Camera work was also the key factor in this one
The Woods was also one of my favorites especially how creepy George was but how everything somehow came together in the attic of his childhood home. The acting was beyond wonderful but the music brough the sounds of 1972 to life with a great soundtrack to boot. It was like a murder mystery movie to me especially how the lighting was so dark.

The Woods. And the Woods only. (maybe because I haven't seen Ghost of my Child yet ). There's no discussing about that.

Hello boys and girls! How are you all this evening? I hope that you are all rocking and rolling through your midweeks, just like me! Oh man, this poll is a great idea, TVFan! Oh man, this a tough choice! I don't think I can pick one specifically, I have thoughts on them all! Lover's Lane - Can't say for sure, I was not a fan, and did not even know about this show, when it aired. I did see it on rerun on CBS during Season 2 - it explained a bit about the Kite situation for me. The Woods - You know, I became a true fan of Cold Case after watching "Mindhunter." It was so intense, and the ending kept me in suspense for the entire rest of the season! And I can remember all sorts of spots on ET that Cold Case made back then - interviews with KM on talk shows over the summer. Just a wonderful time for a fan! Joseph - I have to admit that I liked this one and looked forward to its airing as well! Lilly getting a new boyfriend was interesting to me, and her breaking the rules was even more so. It did not pan out well for any of them, unfortunately. But an interesting episode nonetheless. Plus, I have to give a shout-out on this one, I got my famous return from KM the day after this show aired! What a girl! Stalker - Oh man, this show was creepy and intense. The ending was bad, as was the entire episode for our favorite girl. It was sad, and shocking at the end. But interesting, as I feel they all are. Ghost of My Child - Well, this was the product of most likely many late nights from the CC cast. They threw those last five episodes together on a short schedule, but I still liked this one. I cannot cast a vote here - I can make a case for any of them. KM is in them all, and that is what I like best.

I'm going to have to go with the majority on this one by picking The Woods, it was such a distinct episode.
Joseph was interesting from the point of view of Lilly's dilema and going very much against character. Stalker was OK but could have been far more tense if someone other that Lilly was badly injured. Ghost Of My Child was the last episode they are showing for a while, it wasn't a finale. I can't remember Lover's Lane well enough to comment fully on that one.

I voted for "Stalker" but I would say "The Woods" would come in a close 2nd with "Joseph" in the #3 spot. "Lover's Lane" was solid if I recall but didn't match the power of the other three and "Ghost of my Child" simply did not feel like a finale to me in any sense.
Stalker just seemed to have it all; interesting case, intense character involvement, plot-progression, cliffhanger, and of course Lilly/Scotty scenes. It left me wanting more Cold Case which I think is exactly what finales are supposed to do.

The Woods. Always, definitely, forever The Woods. I totally adored that episode, it was so perfect, so thrilling, so...wow. It was the only episode that made me cry while watching it. I saw it after the end of the third season (I started watching CC only from 03x06 Saving Patrick Bubley), so I knew what it was about, that Lilly wasn't going to die, etc..., and yet, I was barely breathing during the last 20 minutes. And that flash during the closing montage of Lilly turning to look at her colleagues....well, it is THE finale. The other episodes are a sort of post-the-woods.
