I was wondering about Lily's previous partner and the reason why he is no longer with her. Correct me if I'm wrong but I've read that he was a diabetic and he could not work nights so she got a new partner. My question is does anyone know if this storyline was intentional or did they add it in because the actor wasn't "working" out?
Personally I think Danny Pino is doing a great job compare to the other guy. Like the other actors on the show, Danny puts out a vibe that I can pick up on while the other actor, whose name I can't remember at the moment, I didn't pick up any vibe from him. I'm not saying the guy couldn't act but maybe this character was a little out of his league. Any thoughts?

P.S. Was the guy who portrayed Lily's first partner a Calvin Klein model turned actor?

Justin Chambers played Lilly's first partner. I agree, 25or6to4, he didn't leave much of a mark. You are correct about the reason given for the character's departure. I believe Danny Pino was set to enter when he did from the start, since an Aug. 25 notice puts him in the cast: www.darkhorizons.com/news03/030825.phpPino had previously done some eyeball-searingly awful stuff -- a sitcom with Bill Bellamy, Desi Arnaz in a TV-movie about Lucy, and a bunch of pilots that weren't picked up. Scotty's had a nice arc, from insensitive jerk at the beginning to where he is now.

From what I remember it seems like Justin was only in one episode. Me bad....I really need to rewatch some of these. I don't feel he had a chance. I just figured the bit about diabetic was a way to explain why he was replaced. I don't know how to feel about Scotty. I'm kinda indifferent of him for some reason mainly because there was a lag in the eps where the others filled in and I began to like that chemistry. I'm not one for tv star remakes but I feel Danny did an excellent job playing the part of Desi Arnaz. But that was the first I ever saw him in anything.

Hi, Naj.
TV Tome lists Justin Chambers as being on board in the first four episodes -- "Look Again," "Gleen," "Our Boy Is Back," and "Churchgoing People."
I'm not that crazy about Pino, either. At 30 he seems too young (and too unmarked by experience) for Homicide. But hey, it's TV. (I recall "Serial Bomber," a 1996 action movie in which the Seattle FBI office was staffed entirely by thirtysomethings.) Danny was reportedly very good in four guest shots on "The Shield," but I don't watch cable. In the break between CC seasons, he filmed a role in "Rx," an upcoming drug movie set partly in Mexico.

Thanks for the responses, folks. Right now, I'm trying to get caught up on the episodes so that's why I asked that question.
As for Danny Pino, I do remember seeing him in that show with Bill Bellamy and I knew that show was going nowhere. The title alone marked it for cancellation. Anyhow, about his age, well that's Hollywood for you. They have to have some eye candy and I will say he doesn't hurt my eyes. ;D
Actually, no one on that show hurts my eyes. I think they all look the part they are playing. They look very professional, someone you can talk to. I will give kudos to the make-up department on that show because they don't put a ton of make-up on Kathryn's face. As a woman I hate that. Her make-up, her hair and her clothes make her look professional which makes her look the part.

That many blankregus. I'm going to go see if I have any of those taped. I know I don't have the pilot and I want for them to rerun it before the next season. *pulls hair out*

25or6to4 - You read my mind. I always notice that it appears that Kathryn is wearing little or no make-up on CC and it makes me so happy. Not that I'm against make-up, but it just looks so unprofessional on some of these shows (the other JB shows come to mind). I also like the fact that she is always covered. She doesn't wear low-cut shirts, short skirts (in fact she's never worn a skirt that I can remember), or anything too tight (again, the other JB shows do). I've also noticed that she wears like a million shirts at once (okay, it's more like 2-3). For instance, if she's wearing a button up blouse type shirt, she'll have a white tighter shirt underneath. The only reason I noticed this is b/c my sister has what we call "the two-shirt rule" like Lill. She always wears mult shirts at once (it drives my mom crazy b/c it creates more laundry). Anyway, I really like the fact that they present Lilly in a very realistic and professional manor (although I'm sure those suits are way outside a normal homicide detectives budget, but that doesn't bother me like the hoochie detective look on other shows does).

I'm with Naj here, ive never seen Justin Chambers in any episode except for "Gleen", and i just assumed that he was in the pilot, because ive never seen it. *crossing my fingers for that one, although my hair will stay in Naj  *
Lol TVFan, i also follow the two shirt rule. It drives me crazy in the summer when i cant wear my sweatshirt.
and blankregus: i heard that Danny Pino was shooting a movie this summer also, but i think i have a different title for it. I posted in the Other Shows and Movies thread, ill go and check, cause honestly, i dont really remember the title. Guess it wasnt very catchy.

Hi, trublu. Internet Movie Data Base (http://www.imdb.com/) gives the title of Danny Pino's upcoming film as "Rx." The only info I've seen on it is at: www.killermovies.com/r/rxsinreceta/articles/3920.htmlPino plays Leo, a car mechanic the leads encounter in Tijuana.

Well this is interesting. I have the title of the movie as being "Between". Maybe they changed the title one way or the other...? This is the only info i have on it so far, so maybe the reason there is so little is because they changed the title to "Rx"
...among such shining stars as Poppy Motgomerry ("Without a Trace"), Mike Moroff ("La Bamba", "My Big Fat Greek Wedding"), Chris Gann ("XXX"), Alana Stewart, Patricia Reyes Spindola ("Before Night Falls"), [glow=red,2,300]Dany Pino ("Cold Case") [/glow]and Jose Yenque ("Traffic")...
Directed by David Ocanas for Opus Films, "Between" is a chilling psychological thriller about a young American lawyer (Poppy Montgomery) who goes to Tijuana, Mexico in search of her missing sister, and is immediately caught inside a labyrinth of reality and deception. Shot on location the movie succeeds in keeping the audience engaged providing a nice tension between the characters. The story by David Ocanas and Robert Nelm, written by the latter, is very reminiscent of the thriller-like and suspensful momentum mastered by Alfred Hitchcok. It unites an ensemble cast of great talents in an environment that compliments so flawlessly the overall plot of the script. Marilyn’s groundbreaking performance as "Maria", a beautiful, mysterious and tenacious young woman who assists Montgomery’s character in her search, is bound to create more than a buzz around her.
EDIT: I looked at IMDB and Movie Tome, and each one has something a little different. IMBD has the description that you said blankregus, and its totally different than the description of "Between", so maybe we're talking two different movies. HOWEVER, they are both set in the same town, and Neither IMDB or Movie Tome seems to have any information on "Between" Plus, Danny, even with his awesome talent, cant be shooting two movies at once... now can he? This is very strange, we'll have to watch out for these! I made a thread in Other Shows and Movies about "between", but thats all the info i have.
