Silas Weir Mitchell, so moving as the haunted James in "Sherry Darlin'," was great fun as a modern vampire on Sunday's "Crossing Jordan" (originally aired May 9). The script and execution were of course many rungs beneath CC, but Mitchell provided a stylish, witty surface.

Oh great. I don't recognize any of the actors on CC. Maybe it's because I don't watch any of the other series out there to see the actor pole move around.

You know I saw that episode the first time it aired, but didn't even realize it was James from "Sherry Darlin'"!!! Wow, he is a truly gifted actor. I remember the role very well b/c that show tends to do such offbeat stuff that it's hard to forget. I have to agree about the quality, though blankregus.

Naj, CC is the only series I never miss as well. This "Crossing Jordan" episode caught my eye. Longtime James Spader fan that I am, "The Practice" was something of a priority in that time slot during the year. But we watch things for all sorts of reasons. I've enjoyed "Navy N.C.I.S." because the female agent played by Sasha Alexander looks and sounds exactly like an evil boss I once had in publishing. Guest stars sometimes migrate from one Bruckheimer show to another. Canadian actress Christina Cox, the social-climbing Sherry in "Sherry Darlin'," turned up as a combative P.R. person on "C.S.I.: Miami."

Yeah, i was actually watching that episode of Crossing Jordan last night, and i started talking about how the vampire was the same guy on Cold Case. *Of course, then my family was like "shes talking about cold case again?"* His character was very uh, interesting. Ive always wondered what possessed people to believe that they are vampires...?

TruBlu - I had to laugh at your family's reaction. I've heard the same thing. But, you know a lot of these actors pop up on other shows that I watch. Sometimes I can't place them, and then I look it up and I'm like of course (slaps head), he/she was on CC! It's rough when no one else around you enjoys the same programs as you do. That's why I love this board!

Exactly. I am so glad that i can talk to people about CC and other stuff, and they arent all "ok enough about _____ " My sisters were quite surprised when i said that i had found a board with other CC fans :faint: *although, they shouldnt really be talking, they all have their shows that they are obsessed with as well! *

I had CSI: Miami on last night, and who do I see?? None other that James (Silas Weir Mitchell) playing a paparrazi photographer. Coincidentally, this was the same episode that Christina Cox (Sherry) was in as well. Blankregus mentioned her turning up in a CSI Miami ep earlier in this thread.

Very nice catch, TVFan. We should also mention Vincent Ventresca, who always adds flavor. He got sent up for murder TWICE last season, as the lovestruck doc in "Love Conquers Al" (airdate 11-9-2003) and on "CSI: Miami" in "Invasion" (2-23-2004). How about a "get out of jail" card for Vince??

If you watch the other Jerry Bruckheimer shows, you'll see they used some Cold Case guest stars there as well. Disco Inferno: Amanda Wyss who played Sonya was a victim in CSI: Vegas. '80s fans may also remember her from Better Off Dead, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, and as Freddy Krueger's first victim in the Nightmare on Elm Street Films. Hubris: The victim was also a missing person in Without a Trace. Gleen: The victim's daughter in the present ended up being involved in a crime on CSI: Vegas.
As for CSI: Miami, I recognized Christina Cox, but not the other guy. We'll just have to keep our eyes open.

All praise again to Silas Weir Mitchell, who truly rocked the house on tonight's "Medium" (NBC). Much too good for the show, which is cheesy and dishonest. Weir Mitchell is a large talent. Best o' luck to him!

I just caught him in the Fox show Prison Break the other night. Silas played the main character's (Michael) new cell mate. He's a creepy character that just got out of the psyche ward, and he has a condition that doesn't allow him to sleep (which is foiling Michael's escape plan). He's in the previews for next week as well. I'm hoping he's joining the cast.

I'd love to see James again in season 3, just so we can find out what Lilly has been writing to him? ? Has she been talking to him like he hoped she would?

Silas Weir Mitchell had a demanding role to play on CC and he did it exceptionally well. I'm glad to hear other shows have been noticing his talent. :smile49: I'm all for seeing his character return this season as well.

irishkale just entered a logo for our Episode Recap and Episode Review forum contest over in the Fan Art forum. I'm wondering if they will show some more correspondence between James and Lilly. I hope they do. :smile56:

I was looking at the IMDB listing and both SWM and the actress who played "Angie" in the CC ep 3.01 were in the same CSI episode. CC must be the testing ground for new talent...
