According to a blurb on TVGuide online, the Parents Television Council announced the worst programs for family viewing. CC was one of them. Here's the blurb and its subsequent address: "BEWARE, KIDS: The conservative family watchdog group Parents Television Council has named the WB drama Everwood the worst TV show for family viewing. Runners-up include Fox's That '70s Show, NBC's Fear Factor and CBS's Cold Case. The Eye net's Joan of Arcadia topped the best list, followed by Doc (Pax), Sue Thomas: F.B. Eye (Pax), Reba (WB) and 7th Heaven (WB). In related news, if anyone knows what the heck Sue Thomas: F.B. Eye is, please let me know." www.tvguide.com/news/entertainment/Not that it really matters. Although it did make me think about the 8pm timeslot, which is probably why it was singled out. Does anyone else think that CC is a little racy for the "family hour"? Not that I want them to tone it down, but the show overall seems more suited for a later timeslot.

I searched for the Parents Television Council website and found their review of Cold Case: "Episodes of Cold Case have contained strong language, graphic descriptions of murder, teen sex, and some disturbing and graphic violence. Language used has included [“crap,” and “darnn,” among other words]. The violence has been startling and graphic. A teenaged boy was shown beating his girlfriend to death with a tennis racket, a housewife was shown being killed by an explosion, and there were several scenes of rape in one episode. Sexual content is less frequent so far, but did include graphic references to masturbation and allusions to adultery. " link: www.parentstv.org/ptc/shows/main.asp?shwid=1781I don't think the show is so graphic. But it's a crime show, you can't do it without showing some violence. Maybe it should air later, at 10 pm. But if it's about the kids, I think a lot are still watching TV at that time. What I don't get is why Everwood was considered the worst one - it even has a lighter review than CC. Everwood gets a yellow light while CC gets a red light. (it's not that I like Everwood - actually I think it's one of the most boring shows on TV). {edited words in post to comply w/ Proboards}

Yes, I agree with the realism of the language used especially coming out of LIlly's mouth. :toothlaugh: It certainly grabs my attention. But I bet in real life detective offices the talk is alot worse... ~Naj

I think that maybe cold case would be better suited for a later time slot. I know that i cant watch it when my sisters are around, and i wouldnt want my (future!) kids watching it at a young age. HOWEVER, if they change anythin, i hope they dont tone it down, i hope they just change the timeslot.
AND ANOTHER THING: *a quick little side note* I am really am unhappy that 7th Heaven made the best list It is rated G, but they talk about a lot of things, such as teen sex, that i think are really inappropriate for young children. My sister is very young, and shes been asking questions about things she hears on this show, and shes really not old enough to know about them yet. *And on top of that, i dont think the show is very good!*

This list always bugs me. I mean, who really gets to judge right and wrong for people? Pfft.
However, Cold Case being on this list surely means that it has arrived.
