HONOR - "If You Could Read My Mind" by Gordon Lightfoot I've known this song practically all my life, and the way this episode told Carl's story gave me a new way to understand and enjoy the lyrics. I really liked the way the closing scenes were filmed also, like as if the camera was flying in air.
DOG DAY AFTERNOONS - "I Hope You Dance" by Lee Ann Womack I'm not into Country & Western music, so I was really surprised how much I liked this song. Great lyrics that perfectly matched the storyline of taking up an opportunity when it opens up to you.
8 YEARS - "One Step Up" by Bruce Springsteen Again, I'm not much of a Springsteen fan either, so I was very nicely surprised at how much this song fit with the story told in this episode. They lyrics really capture the hardships one endures in life, and the music was not so downtempo that it sent one into a rut after a rather tragic tale.
