"CSI" clones are better than the real thing

I caught this article on MSNBC.com and It's a good read. Talks about how "NCIS", "Cold Case" and "Without A Trace" are of the same genre, but has a different feel xD....and soooo much better than "CSI", the spark that started it all.

"Cold Case" took a little longer to focus on its characters, but by its second season, the lives of Detective Rush and her squad began to fill with love and loss, and secrets as well. The gimmicky but fun theme music episodes may get most of the headlines, but the show's real appeal lies in its star.

For me, this is so true. I still feel this show is fundamentally about Lilly and her passion for cold jobs. When she is front and center, as she was so much in the early seasons, I think the show was at its best. That's not to take anything away from the overall quality of the show on the whole, but at the end of the day, it's about Lilly Rush for me. Whatever gripes I have with the show now, I still have enjoyed watching Kathryn Morris bring Lilly to life week in, week out.

I liked this article a lot too xD. My favorite thing was that the writer didn't seem to lean towards one side. Although the writer did praise "CSI" for starting the whole hyped-up fan crazed Forensic-Drama near the end, the writer also pointed out that the other shows like "NCIS", "WaT", and "Cold Case" are different in their own way and are much better than the original now(CSI). Each show fits everyone's own taste xD.

Thanks for the article CBL. ;D Like you said, I like how they didn't focus on only one show. They all are truly unique shows, and if we didn't have CSI, we wouldn't have these other awesome shows to watch as well. ;D

i honestly find CSI and CSI: miami incredibly crap, but don't mind CSI: NY and generally watch it.
CC and WAT aren't just about all the forensic stuff. also most of CSI is very unrealistic as you can't get DNA tests back in 5 minutes. its all bull$h1t.
