Cold Case" Star Kathryn Morris Hints Series Needs

The show is definitely not the same and I think that might've hurt it a bit, Season 3 was a mess and although season 4 was a lot better its still not the same. Whether she's not happy that they messed around with the show when they souldn't have I dunno.

The point Myril makes about the show being a bit boring is true. I can remember finding some episodes incredibly boring and I think I even fell asleep in some.

I doubt she'll leave and if she leaves that's probably where they'll end the show as she in a way was the point of the show. I can't see it going on without her. I assume season 5 will be different but I hope its not ridiculously different otherwise I wont be watching it. I wasn't even gonna watch this season but the first episode was ok so I stuck with it.

I think it is quite common for the lead stars to be signed on longterm contracts like that. Often they go beyond the life of the show. Jennifer Garner signed something like a 4 year contract with only a couple of series to go in Alias. In that case it was written that if all the major people (writers, producers etc.) wanted to continue then they would, and Jennifer would be part of it.

My guess is that Kathryn is on something similar. Without her the show, as it stands, would most likely die. Of course they could be maneuvering the characters to reduce Lilly's role, making it easier to remove her partially or entirely in the future.

With Kathryn's move into production and writing she may be working towards playing a more significant role in the show's production in future. I wouldn't be surprised to see her get a director or co-writing credit by the end of S5.

I agree with you, RichE the show would be dead without KM, I mean if you search up ''Cold Case'' on Google or anywhere the description is always ''Show about a lone female detective...'' and that's how they started up the show, I think if KM left the show I'd stop watching it..
