One of these works shows better than any other that the series are a form of artistic expression as rich as the cinema or the literature. “Cold Case” (France 2, Canal+) reports the investigations of a young inspector of Philadelphia, specialized in the unsolved old crimes.
This series created by a woman, Meredith Stiehm, is an interesting historical exploration of America at the XXe century. Thanks to very good reconstitutions of atmosphere and with the use of songs of time, “Cold case” described as well the daily newspaper of the maccarthysme as that of the racial segregation, the time of the disco music and the war of Vietnam, the fight for the termination of pregnancy (IVG) or the internment in the psychiatric hospitals of the post-war period.
Extremely conscious of the culture of its public, the series does not hesitate to openly pay homage to the popular cinema - of Rocky Horror Picture Show in Laura, while passing by Cabaret. One can only congratulate France 2 (french tv) to have decided to program it every Sunday evening of the summer. Because “Cold case”, series still ignored here, is one of most beautiful works of television ever produced.

Look at my first post and click source. It's a french text (you speak french?)
To obtain the version translated from this text (my traduction is so bad ? ) you have to sign a subscription to the diplomatic world. But I believe that we don't find this newspaper in Austria.
I can try to translate all the text if somebody wishes it. To try, I indeed say.

I don't care about Hollywood.

I am very too boring to interest press tell Kathryn at once. A great modest smile on her lips. At the festival of Monaco, she could be spotted in her unusual dress of rock star of the 80s. A very different look from the detective Lilly Rush, the austere woman-cop who revealed her to the world. I love fashion but my role does not allow me many extravagances regrets the young lady.

Contrary to certain series as CSI or WAT, CC does not benefit from the same promotion. My character is not sexy and in the brigade, there is no torrid affair, explains Kathryn laughing, a thiny veiled reference to WAT. I'm a fan of Soprano and I regret that CC does not allow us to investigate the connection of the characters, cops, criminals, victims. A little more dramatic realism, more blackness … We are all positive heroes and the case is almost resolved in the end of the episode. I am afraid the spectators get sick of it.

In spite of the reservation of her heroine, the show holds good audience in the United States, since the 1-st season. The resolution of cold case likes to the nostalgic Americans of a time when the investigators interrogated persons and no microscopes. These same fans have the elegance to offer to Kathryn, an invaluable anonymity : I go shopping by myself, and when a little bit too enterprising people come to make a tour on my lawn, my neighbours chase them away !

Then the journalist speaks about the childhood of Kathryn (we already know that)[…]. The one that will see in Ressurecting the champ is happy to have already shooted twice with Spielberg, without playing along with Hollywood. The big cars, creators' dresses, and showing off, don't interest me. The fact that CC bring together grandparents and grandchildren in front of the TV every week is enough to cheer me up as an actress.

The heart which still beat two years ago for Randy Hamilton is lonely. I'm like Lilly, a little bit too on my guards. I inherited my marriage’s conception from my aunt. Love, respect, projects in common, and the kind of humor you can still share in the rest-home. I'm waiting for the one that will give me the desire to start a family.

This may have lost a little in translation (not a criticism frenchfan) but it is an odd thing to say. It implies she recognises that Randy is not "the one". There's still hope for me yet
