Here's more a rundown of what they talked about.
Rene Syler began by stating tonight was a rerun and she gave a small description of the storyline. That was followed by a clip from the show for tonight's rerun.
Rene told her it was great to see her with her hair down because she always wears it up. Kathryn told her it was the way the detective wears her hair but she lets it down on 'special occaisons'. They were smiling about it. KM was one big old happy smile like in Disco Inferno.
Rene then went on to talk about her acting history with Minority Report/Tom Cruise, Steven Speilberg, Paycheck and is referred to as 'that blonde' and now people are getting to know her more in the show. Kathryn agreed and added that the role really suits her. KM said that many roles she played over the years were available to her in this role.
*when do we get to see her sword skills-Tarik?*
Rene commented how the show is smartly written with meaty story lines. It's here Kathryn gives the back ground of the show like she did on her video interview early on the CBS web site.
Rene liked the cast of the show and then Kathryn talked about how they all get along and eat lunch together everday because they all get along so well. KM enjoys going to work everyday. KM feels the roles on the show are interchangable and that she could play their roles and they could play her role. Then they showed a clip between Lilly and Scotty. It must have been the ep where Scotty joined the cast and Lilly was talking about her life.
Cut to clip:
The scene where KM asks Scotty if he ever had a mom who forgot to feed him because he was too drunk..... or out looking for a man...living on food stamps.....
Rene pointed out that Lilly seems complex and layered. KM commented that the show storylines bubble up things within the characters such as Lilly.
Rene likes the double casting and the music because it gives a sense of the time frame for the story. KM stated how proud she was of the committment that Jerry Bruckheimer, Warner Bros. et al put into the script of the show even down to the rights of a song by Aeorsmith. KM was happy that the show was in the top 10 (she says four or five times)
*wasn't it more than that?*
And she feels the audience has really embraced the show and watches it weekly...loyally... and it means so much to them.
Renee told her to pinch herself.
