Wednesday Cold Case (TV One 8:30pm)
TV Week likes Cold Case because, well, it’s just nicer than the other murder-as-entertainment shows. The beautiful and sensitive lily (Kathryn Morris), the art directed flashbacks with accompanying period music; the CSI’s and ilk are just so Icky in Comparison. You know, if we see another dead guy’s head being boiled, we’ll scream. New York Magazine went Crazy over Cold Case too. Apparently, it’s Wagnerian (“a Different bloody libretto and a different leitmotif each week”) and even Faulknerian (“in cold case, as in Faulkner, the past isn’t over; it keeps it keeps on Happening”). Crikey. And you thought it was just about a team of cops in Philly solving old Cases.

This mini-review is awesome KF! I really couldn't agree more with it. I have always said that CC is more like a work of literature than most shows on television (excluding Lost which is basically literature visualized on screen). It's a rich show on so many levels, which makes it ripe for discussion. Thanks for posting this!
