By GREG BRAXTON Los Angeles Times Don't hold your breath waiting for Cold Case: The E! True Hollywood Story. You might pass out. The Sunday police drama does not generate sensational backstage stories or tawdry headlines about feuding stars. And although the series is from the hit movie and TV factory of producer Jerry Bruckheimer, the force behind the "CSI" franchise, among others, it hasn't been a flashy media darling since its fall 2003 premiere. What it does have are solidly strong ratings and a loyal viewership drawn not only to the emotionally tinged investigations but also to the show's flashback sequences that use hit songs from years past as homicide detectives look into unsolved cases. Said Bruckheimer, "The music is the perfect companion to the storytelling." Adds Nina Tassler, CBS Entertainment president: "It's part of the aesthetic that contributes to the integrity of the show in a very big way." One of those fans, though he has yet to publicly admit it, is likely Bruce Springsteen, the rocker who has rarely allowed his songs to be used in films and almost never on television. But with Cold Case, Springsteen allowed producers to feature nine of his original songs in last Sunday's episode. www.dfw.com/mld/dfw/entertainment/13599288.htm

Actually this begs the question: Should CC have some nice on set drama to get ratings? I mean if it gets them to 30 million viewers/week, maybe KM and Tracie Thoms should start catfighting! Or at least CBS could manufacture something to feed the tabloids.

KM and TT catfighting huh? We talking a 'women of Desperate Housewives' kind of fight here Irishkale? That'd be so funny actually.....

It's really sad though that that kind of behaviour gets publicity for all these shows which more or less provides extra advertisment! I'd rather CC got the ratings it already gets and for all the guys working on the show be working in a harmonious and friendly environment!

It got me thinking of the catfighting thing because I caught the Felicity Huffman interview on "60 Minutes" before CC. She was saying how the tabloids were wrong -- that they actually just got along fine on set. It kinda made me think about 2 things: 1) I was mad that 60 Minutes would do a Felicity Huffman story right before CC, which basically makes people think about Desperate Housewives on that other channel! 2) If everything was fine and dandy on the DH set, then all the catfighting stuff was manufactured to get publicity. And guess what? They are virtually swimming in it! Sometimes it's hard being a CC fan

No backstage cat-fighting!!! That would make the show trashy. Poor CC, I don't want it to get THAT kinda publicity. I know any kind of publicity's good but... still... We don't need it.

Sometimes it's hard being a CC fan That catfighting stuff suits a show that is about gossip and catfighting. And I sure don't want just publicity for Cold Case. I want it to be seen as what it is, a good show.
