The current lack of promos doesn't really bother me....yet. I haven't even seen any CSI promos either, and that's their #1 show. We HAVE been seeing the tons and tons of New Show promos, but that's just the natural behavior of the network. I don't really expect them to hype Cold Case that much anyways. They didn't do that much promotion for it last year. It always premieres a week or two after their flagship shows, which usually steal all the thunder. But once they DO begin to advertise CC's 3rd season, it'll be interesting to see if they feature SJB prominently in the season premiere promos, and in what tone they'll approach the new character. I could definitely see some promos which feature her looking "hot" and hyping it heavily during the Sunday NFL games. Not that I agree with any of this stuff, I'm just trying to "think like CBS" and prepare myself for whatever they are going to do

Even if Cold Case becomes an ensemble show, I'll stick around just for Lilly/Kathryn. I'll admit I will be highly disappointed though. Yeah, I think that's what I'll end up doing. Irishkale: I know what you mean! I could totally see CBS promoting the new season, and SBJ's character that way. And I don't like it. Anyway, like you said, it'll be interesting to see who dominates the promo's for this coming season....

Promotion budgets can get pretty high, so I would imagine that networks would reserve the money for one of two shows:
1. Shows that are hugely popular (like CSI) because they know people want to see what's going to happen on the next episode/season.
2. Shows that need a little boost. Maybe a show isn't getting the best ratings, so the network hypes the heck out of it hoping people will sit up and take notice, and then that will turn into more viewers.
It seems to me that CC doesn't fall into either of these categories. It pulls in great numbers and usually wins its timeslot, but it doesn't have the "cool" factor that gives it the buzz of other shows (I'm still trying to figure out why this is). It does well, so it doesn't need to be hyped up for more viewers. I think this leads to CBS slacking off in the promo department.
When other female regulars joined Without A Trace and CSI:Miami, CBS released full page press releases about the additions. It took almost two weeks of internet buzz and a confirmation in TV Guide's printed addition before CBS officially released SJB's arrival on CC. And when they did release it, it was in a joint press release about all the different former soap actors joining CBS's primetime schedule. All of this leaves me wondering if CBS will even promo the one who's name we shall not say's new role. I would imagine that we'll start seeing ads for the premiere about a week or two out, so it will be interesting to see if the one who's name we shall not say's mentioned. My money's on a Kathryn/Danny promo just like we started getting last season. I can't imagine it being just Lilly like in season 1, but I guess we'll see.
I agree with everyone who has said that it's frustrating to watch a show you love lose some or a lot of what you loved about it. I'm certainly not throwing in the towel yet, and I haven't given up hope. I still LOVE CC. I love the characters, the cases, the style, everything. I would like it even better if they moved back to Lilly. I don't even mind adding "Josie chippy", as long as they go back to focusing on Lilly. I was watching the rerun of "Who's Your Daddy" yesterday that I recorded, and I just loved how that episode revolved around Lil. She had some awesome scenes with Booker. I loved their showdown in the street at night when she was walking to her car. It was a classic tough Lilly moment, and I hold out hope that they'll bring moments like those back this season.

Yea, both Scotty and Lilly's interrogations in "Revenge" were very edgy in last night's reruns. Scotty and Vera did a good job too in "Revenge". Those kinds of interrogations are almost absent it seems. I want to see more of that and that great interrogation like Lilly had of Sherry in Sherry Darlin".

If we want Lilly, we all have to write to the show folks, Danny is out on the talk circuit and not Kathryn. He was on the CBS Early Show today. It looks like they aren't sending her out. I don't understand this at all.
If anyone has the address, please post it because I'd like to send a letter. That's about all we can do at this point.

Ask and you shall receive . If you want to send an email, click on the CBS site and scroll down to the bottom where it says feedback. It will pop up a window to write an email. Be sure to choose "Cold Case" as your subject. For regular mail, write to: Nina Tassler President CBS Entertainment 7800 Beverly Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90036 Email is okay, but regular old-fashioned mail works the best.

I sent CBS an e-mail and this is what I said.
I am mailing to voice my concern of the addition of a new female cast member to the Cold Case show. I am under the impression that the premise of the show is of a lone female detective and am a little troubled by the choice to include another female. I am a big fan of the show and in particular the character Lilly Rush played by the very beautiful and talented Kathryn Morris. I know myself and other fans of the show are concerned that Kathryn's role of Lilly will be further reduced this season due to the addition of a new cast member. This is certainly what we do not want. I am also a little concerned with the fact that Kathryn does not appear to be 'out' on the talk show circuit unlike Danny Pino who has appeared on CBS' Early show this morning. This is leading the fans to worry that Kathryn is going to be playing a reduced role in season 3. Again this is far from what the fans of the show want. I am sure the writers of Cold Case know what they are doing and I look forward to the show being broadcast here in England in the new year. In the meantime I would like to thank you for listening to my concerns and for you to understand that I am speaking on behalf of not just myself but a large number of fans of Cold Case.
I hope y'all agree???

It doesn't work, TVFan. Nothing pops up. I see you have to go to the Cold Case page on CBS then choose Feedback. I'll not say what I wrote...for now. ~Naj
