Yes, we've been having some fun in here. ;D Ah well, I believe it was started in a chatroom (correct me if I'm wrong guys!) when cellogal so aptly pointed out that Scotty would have had more chemistry with a Marshmallow rather than with ADA Thomas in that horribly uninteresting and forced relationship tptb tried to shove down our throats. More are on the way ETA: I was just re-watching "Sanctuary" this morning and had a question: Why do you suppose Scotty didn't want to set an official wedding date with Elisa? (he talks about it in the car with Ana) I mean, do you think it was only because of her illness that he was hesitant or do you think it's possible that although he did love her completely at one time, that as they grew up he started to see himself growing apart from her as well in the process? Just curious. |

My personal theory is that Scotty proposed to Elisa rather impulsively, and then perhaps months/years later started to have second thoughts. Her illness surely played into this, but since they were so young when they met, it stands to reason that Scotty would also have been pretty young when he proposed to her. As rash and impulsive as he can sometimes be now, I can only imagine that Younger! Scotty would have been even more so. Anyway, I see it playing out as an impulsive decision.

Ah I love your theories, cellogal. I agree with you here as well (what else is new). I think Scotty may have been stalling because he knew that things just weren't going to work between them (partly to do with the impulsive nature of his proposal). But because she was such an important person in his life (who had been in his life forever), he didn't know how to let that ... her... go. Anyway, thanks for your thoughts!! And yeah, I don't recommend trying the Marmite dipped Marshmallows. Although, I'm quite certain someone, somewhere has tried it lol. |
