Definitely. Perhaps I'm a nerd, but I would welcome the opportunity to meet folks like Veena, Liz Garcia, Corey Kaplan, etc. in addition to cast members. Cast AND Crew deserve to be commended for the jobs they do, but it's the in-front-of-the-camera folks that usually get the credit. If they are classy, they generally pay tribute to those behind the scenes.

(I also think this is one of the reasons I actually like the technical award categories for the Oscars, Emmys. )

And I agree that a bit of gushing and sucking up will sometimes give one certain advantages with "higher ups".

That said, I'm sure I will be a stuttering, gushing fool if ever confronted with someone I hold in high regard.
