Kathryn is on the cover of this weeks TV Guide in the Sun. It's a decent article about a letter she received, and how she feels it's a big deal when things seem better in the world for Cold Case bringing awareness to issues. I don't know if I'm making sense, but I'll try and get the article up in a few days so you all can see, or if someone else has it, feel free to beat me to it.

Really, really, really sorry for the delay. School's a...pain . The Law According to Kathryn
Cold Case star Kathryn Morris says she is "not a soapbox-type of actor" but the public response to recent episodes-and one letter, in particular-has caused her to re-assess her attitude to the show.
"I feel a greater responsibility(than I used to)," she says.
"We were doing a postpartum depression episode and I felt this incredible responsibility of being accurate and making sure we were not treating the subject in a movie-of-the-week way."
The premise of the series, now in it's fourth season, is that Detective Lilly Rush and her team re-open dormant murder cases, some decades old, and solve them.
Morris believes one of the reasons people like Cold Case is the closure it provides at the end of each episode.
"People feel there's a lot of chaos in the world and there's no justice," she says. "But at the end of the show you know that somebody's going to pay-the montage comes on and the bad guy goes to gaol after maybe getting away with it for 25 years."
This point was reinforced by a poignant letter Morris received from a fan. "It was from a girl in a really, really remote area of the world," she says.
"I had sent her an autographed picture, and she was thanking me for it. And she said, 'I just wanted you to know how much the show meant to me, because when I was seven somebody committed a crime on me and I know that he'll never be caught and I've never told anyone except for you in this letter. But for some reason your show gives me comfort in knowing that somebody's going to pay. Some people pay'."
Morris said the letter made her feel very humble and realise how much the series could affect others.
"I think I'm just an entertainer, I'm not interested in changing the world," she says.
"But when someone has somehow had a positive influence in their life because the feel that your show is contribution to their life in some way, that's a big deal. A lot of parents come up to me and tell me, 'You know, my daughter watches your show. We watch it together and she's considering getting into detective work or forensics-because she sees your character is smart and she's a regular girl and she's not perfect.' That's been a very nice surprise."
Not that Morris believes she has a lot in common with her character.
"Lilly and I are pretty different people," she says. "I'm not really a loner. I have a lot of great family and a lot of connection with my family and a lot of friends."
Morris is optimistic about the future of her character, despite Lilly's private life being in a mess.
"Towards the end of Season Three, she realises she doesn't have a life at all," she says. "She's just exhausted-all worked out-and she gets into a relationship she probably shouldn't.
"But now I think she's really hit her stride. I think this character is all about dealing with her demons, with her own past, through the lives of others.
"I think through the course of the series she works out her own problems through her work."
Hehe, all I can think about when I hear (or read ) the word 'Hero' is Shakespeare's' ' Much Ado About Nothing'. Yes, I'm an odd fourteen-year-old, to say the least. ;D

thanks so much Athame!! was there a picture of her along with the interview There was . The cover of the magazine was from the S3 promo photoshoot, I believe, and the two inside, one was the same as another article from last May and the other was a behind-the-scenes shot of her looking into a filming camera, or something. I'd happily scan them for you, but my printer/copier/scanner thing is still being annoying *sigh*.

Really great article; very touching - thanks Athame! I really like this: Morris is optimistic about the future of her character, despite Lilly's private life being in a mess.
Towards the end of Season Three, she realises she doesn't have a life at all ... She's just exhausted-all worked out-and she gets into a relationship she probably shouldn't.
But now I think she's really hit her stride. I think this character is all about dealing with her demons, with her own past, through the lives of others.
I think through the course of the series she works out her own problems through her work.I really like hearing KM's own thoughts on what Lilly is about/how she is progressing. KM tends to elaborate on some of Lilly's more "gray" areas that I find I'm most curious about (plus, I like to hear things from the source anyways, so ... ).
