Here's some more from the Television Without Pity Boards: McKay writes... Kathryn Morris is such an amazing actress. She can break my heart with one look. The thread with Lilly afraid of losing her humanity really got to me, because she always seems to be in so much pain, yet now I see why she almost seems determined to hold on to that. LINKNamarie writes... Kathryn Morris is pretty awesome as Lily on Cold Case. I hadn't seen her in anything else before this show, but she rocks. LINKMcKay writes... "Hitchhiker" was on tonight. Not a particular favorite of mine, but a good one. I wasn't all that interested in the story, but Kathryn Morris with the heavyset suspect was utter genius. LINK

I like TVGuide online's Matt Roush, he always says good things about CC and now something positive about kathryn.
Question: Can you explain the dearth of female-centric shows these days? My favorite shows of all time, from Rhoda to Kate & Allie to Golden Girls, were often centered around brilliant actresses and great writing. Their stories appealed to everybody and helped women. I just do not see any of this type of show anymore. Can you explain why this is happening, and if you expect it to ever change? — Joe J.
Matt Roush: I don't really understand this question, except to note that these longtime faves all appear to be comedies, and it's a fact that TV comedy is in a slump, especially comedies built around strong women — although hybrid comedy-dramas like Gilmore Girls and Desperate Housewives (and UPN's Monday block of urban comedies, for that matter) offer plenty of juicy roles for great actresses. But the boom of drama has also been good to women. Check out the casts of Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy, Lost, Commander in Chief, and the leads of such crime dramas as Cold Case and Close to Home, not to mention Veronica Mars and the hits on Sci Fi Fridays (especially Battlestar Galactica). Not such a bad environment for women on TV, if you ask me.

I put this in the Last Castle deleted scene thread but thought it would also go here since Rod Lurie seems to just love Kathryn as well!!
Anyways I watched it with the director's commentry and this is what Rod Lurie said:
...But this actree Kathryn Morris; you know I can't say enough about her. She was in The Contender. She was the FBI agent. She was black haired then. And she is one of the most gifted actresses I have ever met in my life. And, she is a treasure as a human being and as an actress. That little moment there where she touches her ear [talking about the scene] improvised, where she is asking him to speak up. What you see from her there is the quality of listening that is really one of the hidden treasures, it's great...... ...Also the pinnicle here is when she tells him she's gonna come and nail his a$$ if anyone else dies [talking about scene again]. Of all the scenes I cut out I questioned this the biggest one. She is so good....

I was looking over the Tango magazine with Kathryn, and came across this bit from photographer Robert Ascroft, who took the amazing pictures of Kathryn in the penthouse of LA's Mondrian Hotel. Here's what he had to say about her:
"I enjoyed capturing her beauty and true personality. It's a testament to her talent that she is so different from the character she portrays. Kathryn is truly charming."

Found this on Rate it all. She’s either an awesome actress or I’m a little infatuated, most likely both. I was watching a football game when on came a little promo for CBS’s new show, Cold Case. My initial reaction was – Wow! Who’s she? Needless to say I just had to tune in. I came to realize I had seen her before in an episode or two of Xena and was just as mesmerized then. Kathryn is now one of my favorite actresses, I watch Cold Case every week that I can and she has the prettiest smile in Hollywood.Link: www.rateitall.com/i-867984-kathryn-morris.aspx

That's a very nice one, sonny. I couldn't agree more with their thoughts on Kathryn's smile.

Another someone who thinks Kathryn is great.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I completely agree with you - I think she is the most talented actress currently working in Hollywood and has been completely gypped every year come awards season. I also think she is one of the most beautiful beings I've ever laid eyes upon. And she seems to be a very sweet, funny person as well. To say I'm smitten is an understatement - I completely understand where you're coming from.

From poster McKay at TWOP (regarding the scene in Debut when she found out that the autopsy found that the wife really died from an epilectic seizure): I caught that, too. Well-played by Kathryn Morris, but then, I think she's incapable of playing a scene badly. Even when the episode is weak, she brings 110% and makes it work.

by - OfficerBennett 21 hours ago (Tue Feb 7 2006 12:20:05 ) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I saw both Xena episodes with Kathryn awile ago i and must say: Beautiful! She's very talented. I love Cold case!!!!!!!!!! I don't miss any episode.

I totally agree with you sonny (wow beautiful declaration of love). I saw Kathryn Morris for the first time, a few months ago in season 1 of cold case. I think that it's an exceptional actress, with a very beautiful personality. And I am very surprised that the American producers do not give her a role with the measurement of its immense talent.(I am sorry for my very bad English).
