The latest issue of INSIDE TV magazine (the same one as the blurb on the actor who portrayed the Defunct Detective) has an article on Kathryn. There are six different photos of Kathryn at various events (that we've seen before), and a pic of her on the set (from the thread here on the board). It's the Sept 26-Oct 3 edition with Emmy Fashion on the cover. Anyway, here's the text. It contains no spoilers.
Kathryn Morris' Passion for Fashion (pg. 42)
The Cold Case star is hot on the trail of the latest looks...
"I am not a 'sweats' person - and I only wear flip-flops if I'm going to the beach," declares blonde and beautiful Kathryn Morris, renowned for her role as detective Lilly Rush on CBS's hit crime-drama Cold Case. "There are so many great things going on in fashion right now," she tells INSIDE TV. "I just think women are too beautiful to be frumping around in sweats." And clearly, Kathryn puts her money where her Manolos are.
On screen, on the red carpet or even at a low-key weekend charity event, the actress is the picture of fashion perfection - though never a slave to any designer's dictates. "I like to mix something sweet with something tough," she explains, noting a deep affinity for pairing things like beat-up jeans with delicate tops or cardigans from "girlie" fashion houses like Anthropologie.
And when Kathryn goes for the truly glam, she really does go all the way. "I enjoy dressing up," she says, citing Dolce & Gabbana - whose retro-sexy designs always make her think of Sophia Loren - and Australia's ultra-femme Collette Dinnigan as her favorite red-carpet clothiers.
A huge fan, too, of all things vintage, Kathryn derives more than a little inspiration from her Cold Case gig itself during the show's many flashbacks to various eras. "I love the shapes of period design," she says. "They really work with the female form instead of fighting it."
Confessing a special fondness for location shoots, where she can scout for antiques and vintage threads at local thrift stores, Kathryn reiterates her fondness for pairing unexpected pieces. "I always try to pick up something local - even if it's the T-shirt of the local waffle place that you could team with a coat from Barney's." she says. And her dream location, she notes, would most certainly be London, "where women's style, and the shopping, is amazing!"
When at home in L.A., Kathryn quenches her thirst for "vintage" and more at celeb-shopping spot Decades, where she not only buys for herself, but for friends and family as well. And this seasoned shopper's best advice to other would-be fashionistas? "Think 'timeless.' If you know you'll love it and wear it 10 years from now, it's worth buying."
The last page of the article is a nice picture of Kathryn in a black overcoat, and it shows you how to "get the look." Lots of nice pictures that we're used to seeing tagged with Getty Images or another photo company. Definitely worth picking up if you see it at the newstand.
