Kathryn on 'Celebrity Poker Showdown'

I was browsing the net, and found this little tidbit on Celebrity Poker Showdown.

Six new "Celebrity Poker Showdown" episodes air in August with Kelly Williams, Rosie O'Donnell, Kathy Najimy and Kathryn Morris. The men of "Desperate Housewives" ante up for six new episodes in January, he says.

The info comes from actor Joshua Malina because he's an executive producer for the show. It's not until August, but we'll have to keep our eyes peeled for any updated info on its airing (I know it airs on BRAVO, but that's it). It should be interesting to see how she does.

I haven't heard anything more byrdman, but I'm certainly keeping my eye on it. I definitely don't want to miss her on here. It should be a fun appearance. As far as I know, it's still on for some time in August. I'm hoping BRAVO's web site updates us on upcoming players. Hopefully, TiVo will as well.

If you go halfway into the page, you should see a bunch of spoilers that are blacked out (just highlight them to see these portions). Amysusanne posted some good stuff about the players in the next season. I'm assuming this to be true since she viewed the live tapings in Vegas. And if you go to the next page (99), someone posted that season 6 of CPS will air on Aug. 18. :smile10:

Thanks foxfire! I will take it with a grain of salt. It does seem pretty legit, though, since the person was supposively at the taping. I can't believe they taped it back in April, but it doesn't air until August. I had no idea there was such a lapse. I liked this little tidbit on Kathryn from the person at the taping (i'm only going to include the first part since the second part is somewhat of a spoiler on how she did):

I'm probably assuming the gap in time will be used to edit the tapes. Especially being that Caroline Rhea said lots of curse words during the tapings..

Caroline says "@%$#" a lot and will be heavily edited, but she amuses me.

It looks like we finally have a confirmed date/time for the first episode featuring Kathryn. According to The Buffalo News,[/u][/url] (scroll down to the last bit) episodes start August 18th at 9pm on BRAVO.

Buffalo State College graduate Marcia Mule is back as one of the executive producers of the sixth edition of Bravo's "Celebrity Poker Showdown." The first of six two-hour episodes airs at 9 p.m. Aug. 18 with 25 stars, many of whom wouldn't qualify for "Dancing With The Stars." Among the big names: Alex Trebek, Stephen Collins, Ricki Lake, Kathryn Morris, Rosie O'Donnell and Meatloaf

I notice that there are six episodes, so I wonder if Kathryn is in all of them. I have never seen this show, so I have no idea how it works.

I just checked BRAVO's official site, and according to their press release the show works like this:

Filmed in front of a live audience in the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, each episode of "Celebrity Poker Showdown" features five celebrities competing against each other for the chance to win a $250,000 prize to donate to the charity of their choice. Each week, a new group of celebrities meet at the table to go head to head until only one remains. The winner from each week's game will advance to the championship sixth game finale. Bravo viewers will have the inside track on the hands the different players hold via hidden cameras. They will also be able to hear commentary from the eliminated players, who will watch the remainder of their respective matches from the 'Loser's Lounge,' via closed circuit television.

So, unless Kathryn wins, it seems that she will only be on her respective week. According to the same release, she's part of "Ladies Night" and her ep will air September 8.

Sorta related to this.. Robin Weigert was on a Celebrity Poker show a few months ago. She was playing with 3 other players, all guys. She seemed kinda shy and didn't say much. But while the guys were talking, she quietly won almost all of the hands.. .she ended up winning the match. So Cold Case gals are 1-for-1 in Poker tournaments...

You're welcome byrdman. I was keeping an eye out for it, and saw the first story I posted. I thought of you immediately because I knew you were wondering along with the rest of us. I'm excited to see this piece because it sounds like a different sort of "appearance." I like the fact that the "losers" stay on and comment on the game while the others finish. This way, Kathryn will be a part of the entire episode even if she doesn't win.

Hey there, byrdman, Irishkale, TV Fan and all others who're kind enough to be posting news (that I never respond to :smile66: ).

KM's got such an expressive face I'm not sure she'll be able to keep it completely stony. On the other hand, she does exactly what she wants with it--so maybe she can command it to be totally blank. That would be great! I won't be watching that ep for probably a year or so, so you guys tell me all about it after it happens.
