I would cast Morgan Fairchild (I think I got her name right). Kind of dramatic-looking in a blonde, wasted kind of way... and she's got fine features like Lilly's. Think she could pull it off. But you know, they'll never cast anyone "famous" for that role. I'm still miffed about not getting Dakota Fanning or her lil sis to do Little Lilly.

Yeah, I think she must've had them really young too. That would account (partly) for her being so irresponsible. It's hard to have 2 kids under your wing when you're just a teen and a high school drop out... and your kids' dad (dads??) has left you. That's my take on Ellen Rush.
EDIT: I think Joan van Ark could work. However, she's too young. They'd have to make her look more wasted. I don't see Ellen Rush looking that healthy, not with her lifestyle.

You know, I know she wasn't originally meant for that role, but Jamie Lee Curtis wouldn't be a bad choice for Lilly's mom. They'd just have to dye her hair blonde and make her look haggard, like with Joan. I know Lilly's mom doesn't necessarily HAVE to be blonde, but I think she should be. If she's not, I'll be seriously disappoitned.

Jamie Lee Curtis as Mrs Rush...sounds good, really good.
They could find someone looking like KM to play the mom, blonde and all, but how could a cast director resist Jamie??

I think she looks a little like Lilly. I mean, not identical--but the overall features including face shape are alike. I think she could pull it off.
