OMG Lilly Kite is actually pretty bad... I don't think any last name that has a meaning will fit her. Lilly Kite sounds almost like a cartoon character. But don't worry... she'll find someone soon enough. Though I hardly think they'll let her get invested in a real serious relationship for a while... she's probably gonna have some fun and screw up a few times first. But that's the way of the world... ;D

Hm, I'm not sure about laws in US considering this, but here a woman don't have to give up her family name if she marries. The couple can decide to keep her name.
But I don't think Lilly Valens or Scotty Rush is going to happen anyway. ;D

Neither here. The woman can either keep her maiden name or add her husband's. And the husband can add his wife's name if he wishes (though I've never seen that). Scotty Rush.... LOL. Rush is a pretty strong name (I like the sound of it), she should never give it up.

I don't think she would! Of course if she were really in love she might. I always wondered at this willingness to give up your maiden name for your husband's name, and sometimes keeping it AFTER you're divorced (I had several friends' mothers in that situation)... it's so complicated. I mean, everyone's used to calling you one way all your life, and suddenly it's different???
I'm glad you don't have to do it around here. Though the alternative is worse. You can say you're blabla InsertLastname OF Inserthusband'slastname. Like you belong to the guy. You don't have to do it if you don't want to of course. I'm not doing it.

I can't see Lily with a last name other than Rush.Haha, it's kind of weird to think about.
When I was little, I told my mom that I was never going to change my last name because I "didn't want to lose my individual identity" (haha, even then I was a little feminist). But who knows now. I think I'll take my husbands name....that is, unless it's something really, totally strange! hehe.
