Well, believe it or not, I had to vote to see more of this guy. The writers opened the door here; I want to see it properly closed! There's too many loose ends and guessing on our part, and I don't find the uncertainty good for the major character for the show. I agree with both of you TVFan and Eurache ;D They've kind of made Lilly out to be an easy lay when it comes to this guy, so I want to see what's just so special about him! That's pretty much my sentiments too, though I hope they don't dwell too much on this guy. I think the soap opera aspects of this storyline can kill my interest in the show, just as it did with Kim Delaney's "Philly". No disrespect to anyone, but I also find it rather irritating how these thirtysomethings are acting like ninteen-year-olds.... I hope this isn't the way the writers intend to attract a younger audience. Since Lilly is somewhat a role model to viewers, impulsiveness isn't a quality she should be engendered with. IMO it would be rather reckless on the writer's part to do so. (Geez, I sound like an old fart --but guess what? I guess at fourty I am! )

I agree with you Boxman on this point. I hope as you that the authors we will allow to know the outcomes of this history simply to understand and not because I wish to see Ray more. I believe that it is significant that the authors do not move away us too much from Lilly, I want to say that I need to understand a minimum these reactions. I want to imagine well, try to understand but I don't want to speculate. Since the beginning of season 2, one knows the existence of Ray, it would be although the authors bring a true lighting of this history to us. But I don't doubt that we will have a lighting on history. Finally I wish it.

I think i see things differently then al lof you , maybe b/c i haven't had a real romance yet. But just listening your different opinions has gotten me thinking, maybe she really loves him and when you find the one you really want you don't want to let go of it. Maybe they haven't seen each other for a long time, but just maybe there is a second chance of them being together. .Don't we all want lilly to be happy and have someone there for her besides her kitties?

I don't! (pooh Disasterfreak--SHUT UP!!!) ;D
I just think it's kinda funny she found out 20 yrs later she loved the guy... she should've figured it out before. And if he really loved her, he wouldn't have let her go back then either. No, no, no--this whole romance is bogus. And I don't feel any particular desire to have it clarified. I just want it gone. ;D

Lilly's at this point in her life that she wants to settle down with someone not trying to have this notion that she had in "the house" about ray selling his Motocycle . What in the world was ray thinking, that Lilly would still be the some person that he knew. People changed throught the years, Lilly isn't the one to blame, she knows what happened in the past is gone. Ray has to let go but remember it ,but don't try to relish that.. Lilly has surely gotten past that ....

I want to see this door properly closed, as boxman so nicely wrote. But still I want this relationship be gone as soon as any possible, and so I voted yes, please I want it to be over. As much as I think that what happened makes sense to me, I nevertheless don't see, that this relationship has a future. Lilly might act for a moment like a teenager as some put it, but she isn't one anymore. Even if you would like to turn back time it's simply not possible. As the case of Pactrick Bubble was something, Lilly had to close for herself to see again why and how she is doing her job, I think she has to close the "case" Ray for herself and move on. But I hope they let Lilly come to the conclusion, that she could move on and find happiness in her live without any romance.

Geez, InsideR said this whole future relationship would be something that is determined by the viewers, well the writers aren't gonna have a clue what to do, we are all so divided on this :smile21:

Here's what I think we are divided on Lilly and ray relationship , if the writers are willing to put in at least a flashback of their past, or keep them as close friends. I don't think in this point of her life , lilly is considering to spead the rest of her life with him . She wanted to when she was younger but now in her thirties she can't chasing an old teenage love it's totally unrealistic. Lilly was too out of character , you meet up with an old lover and sleep with him , that's not the lilly we all knew. Maybe something more went on that triggered that, maybe a conversation or an impulse lilly had, who knows . I just want them to be friends , Lilly deserves someone new that she doesn't know.

Here's an idea, Get rid of ray we all know this relationship isn't going nowhere. Add a guy that Lilly doesn't know and there you go , problem solved. Ray might not know her past at all, she has been known to be secretive about this. The writers might clue us in on their past in a different way or just leave at that .. You never know with the writers that have a habit of referrings back to things ,so maybe something will spark about what happened that night and their past.
