I was reading some views on recent changes on CC. It was stated that in order to keep the show fresh and add potential storylines for their writers; new viewers might tune in to see the newest cast member, Tracie. By adding a young face they hope to attract more young viewers. What do you think? This poll is sort of a two part question too. Do you think the change in Kathryn Morris's character with her hair has brought in more younger viewers? Please state your views/opinions.   |

As usual, my snobby self and I have decided we don't care for Lilly's new hairstyle... it looks nice but if it's the only thing that's brought in new viewers, then we don't care for these new viewers. I personally thought the old one fit her better, though she looks great with the new one, but I wouldn't stop watching the show one or the other. I chose undecided... but I think I shoulda chosen "meh... whatever shakes their noodle". Dammit!

I picked undecided. I'm not sure if her 'do will bring in younger viewers or not. I would hope they would tune in for more than a hairstyle change, though. I don't mind which way she wears her hair.

* Adding Traci Thoms: No, How does one know that's what brings in new viewers. And if they show are they even interested in the concept of the show? We saw what happened with that idea already!
First and foremost you want to make sure you've got a quality show each week. Instead of adding someone to the group work to increase the quality of the cases. Approximately 6 top cases out of 24 per season is not enough. You make interesting cases each week consistently and the people will tune in. My guess is people tune in on the 16-18 lesser quality eps and that's not enough to draw them back.
* Lilly's longer hair down: No - I don't feel it will make a difference. It's not about Lilly's hair being up or down or cut or whatever.

Guh, I really don't hope new people tune in because of the HAIR! That's really not the issue here..
I, personally, would like the old hair back, but I don't think the new one is a descrase neither...
And that Traci, well... I actually don't care much for her. We haven't seen her that much, so I wouldn't know what I'd be caring for anyway. (And as some of you may have noticed, I'm not that open hearted when it comes to new detectives..)
Newbies might tune in for the hair...or the new det... but I'll tell ya, if that's the only thing, they'll soon tune out again..
*gaah* "Whatever" is kinda my stand here..

About the hair: I might seem shallow, but for me the hair up all the time was a part of Lilly's personality. So, now when I see her with her hair down all the time, it feels like something is missing.
About the new character: I don't know. I really don't care that much about any other character but Lilly. But this whole thing of "trying to appeal to a younger audience" annoys me... I never felt like CC was a show that appealed to old people (well actually I'm not sure if there are such categories as "shows for younger people" and "shows for older people", it all depends on your personal taste). And, why do they only think about the new audiences? It seems like they're not worried if the current audience will dislike the changes and stop watching the show. (well, it hasn't come that far of course, but you get my point...)

Don't care for the recent changes but personally I love the hair. Mainly cos I know Kathryn wanted it down so much cos she was pi$$ed off with people talking about it all the time.

I like her new style, but her hair in "Wishing", when she was having a fight with Scotty, was just perfect!! I guess I'll never understand how her hair down or up attracts more viewers. Traci: I don't care for her character. I'd rather Lilly as the only female. |
