We had a great turnout last night, we talked about alot last night. I thought it was a good episode. I truly enjoyed it
Here's what we discussed:
- How different Scotty looked back in 1998, kind of scruffy looking with a goatee (sp?)
- how well Lilly and Kat worked together in one of the interrogation scenes
- The look Lilly gave Scotty when he lied again in regards to giving his undercover phone # to Ana
- mentioning of his lies to Lilly about Christina, or his involvement or feelings of Ana.
- how sad that Ana wanted a better life, but to get there she was a drug runner (mule).
- How Father Peralta was a creep in the beginning with other younger girls and turned his back on Ana when she needed sanctuary from the drug ppl. He just gave her money from the poor box.
- mentioned of the music played espec the ending song
- How Scotty's boss, Manny, got the call and also turned his back on her. He didn't want the undercover case be blown.
- How they showed a cruesome picture of what they did to two ppl. The older woman who carried drugs in her stomach and Ana, who hid two capsule elsewhere.
- how chummy Ana and Scotty were getting each time he would pick her up from the airport. It seemed Scotty had feelings for Ana or truly cared for her.
- how sad Ceci, who was a druggie user and her b/f killed Ana. Just so they could get to Miami. Ana had the look, she knew she was going to die; she watched her dreams of working as a secretary in a big office gone. Not be able to help support her sister to get to school.
- At the end of story, Scotty lights a candle for Ana and we are shown where Ana hid the two capsules, in the statue of the Virgin Mary.
What we didn't discuss:
- That this type of drug running is still going on.
- Why do ppl go to such extremes that could kill them if one capsule broke open. Is that dream worth their life?
- How the man of the cloth could just ignore and go with the flow of all the drug dealings going on. He became part of the drug package and I feel he was just as guilty for not helping Ana when she needed to be help. Why wasn't he charged? Vera told the priest, he was scum...
- will Scotty really change? did he realize how some of his lies have made some ppl doubt him? The look Lilly and Stillman gave him when he tried to cover up about giving a phone number. Will Scotty change?
- What did Ramiro mean when he said Scotty loved being in a drug business? He can see the hunger look Scotty had; could Ramiro be right? Was it the money or did Scotty felt more at home?
- Miami? Why Miami to be Ceci's dream? Maybe for more drugs there? She is lucky she is alive today b/c she sure looked older when she was on drugs.
Okay, that's all I can think of. If anyone can think of something else or correct me, please do so. Also, if someone found the songs played for this episode, please post them.
