I am starting this thread b-coz I have just discovered that polish tv which used to play CC stopped it again. Why, whyyy, whyyy...? There is no good reason (at least I don't know it) and they put in CC's place some stupid polish series. I am particularly mad knowing there is going to be the 3rd season in Germany on Feb 3.
Excuse me if this topic is a trash, I just had to ease myself...

I know how you're feeling. The network that airs CC down here cut off the last episode of CC, CSI and WAT. That annoyed a lot of people

Oh no .. this is terrible Is there a site on this network that you can write to complain about this? I would do that and if they get enough complaints they'll bring CC back.

Oh, believe me, they won't! There are not too many CC fans in Poland. I'm afraid this change can be for good... Who's gonna complain but me? And ruda maybe -- if she only finds enough time to stop playing Tibia and notice that CC is not on anymore...

Hey Ewka I got ahold of (I think) a Polish episode of Cold Case. It has a male voice doing voiceover for ALL of the characters. Is that the way the audio is done for episodes in Poland?

Yeah... this is what they do with all the not polish shows -- we can barely hear the original voices and the lector is put a bit louder. Sometimes I find myself not able to focus on what they say, because these two voices interlace and none of them is clear... :/ I wish we could have the subtitles... Right now I wish we could Cold Case on tv... eh.

Don't people think it's weird though to have a man with a deep voice doing Lilly's voice?

He's not doing her voice, he's just letting us know what they are all talking about and our task is to pretend we don't hear him You can get used to it Besides, other people are so lazy that they don't want to read the subtitles and simply prefer that voice from nowhere

I wanna know that too! Go Ewka!
Wow, that's even weirder than MY dubbing. I can't stand watching dubbed shows--it gets on my nerves! And we don't even have 2 voices at the same time, just a regular guy/gal doing the character's voice. It still sucks though, cuz you hear the same voices in all the shows. Thankfully enough CC has never been dubbed and I hope it never will be. Go subtitles!

O Goood... my dictionary does not consist of such slag words... I believe (but I don't exactly remember) it was more less the same -- "Chcesz mnie przelecieæ?" means "You wanna do me, huh?"... But the fact is that most of the immortal quotes die lost in the translation...

One person does all the voices? That's bizarre... Thank God CC is subtitled here..

One person does all the voices? That's bizarre... Thank God CC is subtitled here.. I think it's an Eastern European thing. I know they have the voice-over in Bulgaria and Czech Republic, too. It's pretty fascinating to watch, but it does get annoying very quickly when you're straining to hear the actors' voices and some guy just keep interrupting. I don't understand why they don't subtitle foreign shows in any country. You would think it'd be so much cheaper -- especially cheaper than dubbing.

OMG... I feel so sorry for you ewka, that you can't watch CC.. and that there is a male voice..... Hmmm...
[We have subtitles in Denmark and we're finished Season 2...]

Cheaper... they take a bunch of idiots who think they know English and decide which lines are translated like they should be and when they have no idea what's going on they probably put there anything and most of the people do not even notice... The worst is that Poles don't know English, don't care about improving it and are too lazy to read... The same is with books in Poland -- damn expensive and on the other hand people read tv papers only... uh.

I don't understand why they don't subtitle foreign shows in any country. You would think it'd be so much cheaper -- especially cheaper than dubbing. If you take just one guy to speak everything it might be no big difference to subtitles. For sure subtitles are cheaper compared with all the effort they do in some countries e.g. Germany - translating, casting for every voice, and then do the dubbing. Not to mention it takes time. But people are so used to it, its unlikekly shows would sell without dubbing (not yet). Ugh, ewka, I hate dubbing simply because I simply don't want to hear an interpretation of the original, some things get lost in translation no matter how good it is. But a voice-over really sucks. And it sucks that they stopped showing Cold Case on polish tv again. :smile29:

Good news! We are going to see "Look Again" tonight! Some believe (well, ruda does and only she) that they will show us all the episodes with S3 included, but I am happy with what we are sure. I can't wait to see 1x02-1x06, because I have not seen it yet!
