I think it's going really well so far. The only change I would have made would have been to show more reaction from the George incident right off the bat. Of course, I would also like more focus on Lilly, but I still get the feeling that she's the main detective on the show.

I like it too so far.... Maybe address more the "essence" of Lilly and focus on her personality a bit more..Like this 49 HAS to be addressed at one point don't you guys agree?

Basically that Lilly always opens the case and discusses with Stillman or someone comes to see Lilly at the Homicide or it falls into her hands or Stillman's hands.
Lilly takes another detective with her on interviews each ep. They can rotate who goes with her but she should go to several of the interviews of suspects. Other detectives can team up to interview suspects too. Lilly interrogates and Lilly closes including the ending montage. Supporting cast is there to support. It's pretty rote with me a la any show that has a lead like Matlock, Murder She Wrote, Magnum PI etc. Also the continuity was lost from last season with the interruption of a new detective. (Like I cared exclusively about a new detective that isn't needed in what is known as small departments for Cold Case). I really feel they would /*should*have dealt with another personal storyline for Lilly had they not done this and it proved to really mess up the first 5 episodes. So much that I shudder to even think of watching them presently. So I wouldn't have a new detective. Whoever's idea that was needs a good schalacking. ;D It was a major disinteresting mess. (imo)
I'd also like to have more eps with some nice underscore in it and no more one muscian themed eps.
More Lilly centered cases.

Although the cases were pretty good in the first 5 eps the introduction of "Josie chippy" really ruined things for me and the show screwed up big time. It was such a shame when they could have done so much with Lilly in those first few episodes. I think because of that mistake it has caused alot more critism of the season so far and has made viewers want more than ever for the show to return to it's season 1 days. Apart from the first five eps I think it's going well at the moment. I'm still loving Lilly and what they are doing with her [even her hair!!!!!] but it would have been nicer to see more of her in certain eps. I think this has been a great season for finding more out about the guys and the how the show is using it's other recurring guest stars such as Frannie and Lindsay. There have been some weaker episodes but there were weak episodes in seasons 1 and 2 IMO. So overall I'm still glued to the show and can't wait to see what they've got planned for Lilly the rest of the season.

I´m not really liking this season so much, but it´s a feeling that comes and goes. I´m not sure anymore how I would have liked it to be. Thinking back to the time around last season´s finale, back then I was hoping for some reaction to the George episode--from Lilly and for the others. I was hoping to hear from Christina (though I didn´t necessarily want her showing up), I was fairly ambivalent about Lilly´s mom, I would have liked to hear more ABOUT her than actually see her. I wanted Lilly to have some sort of friend she´d open up to, not necessarily a romance. I would´ve liked to learn more about Patrick than MG. I was really never very interested about MG at all. And I sure had no plans for a new detective.

I want to hear more about Lilly's family (although there's still hope for that) -- I do want to meet her mom and I wouldn't even mind if Christina came back. As long as Scotty stayed out of that picture. I also want Lilly to have a friend she can talk to and confide in. I wanted Lilly to look better this season (although the make-up issue is improving). And I'm missing the emotional punch from the stories as well as the Lilly screen time we'd gotten used to. Something is just missing this season, but I can't put my finger on one particular thing.

I can nothing but agree with the two of you. And like you said, V, there's something bothering me that I just can't put my finger on.. But I definately expected more follow-up from last season. Aside from the Scotty-Elisa storyline, it's kinda like season 2 never happened..

Yea, I agree with you DF. Theres more to know about Lilly and those that were there early on even Frannie and Anna and Gil. It's all kinda odd what has happened with this show. . :smile32: I´m not really liking this season so much, but it´s a feeling that comes and goes. Think positive gals! There's still half a season [sort of] to go. I'm positive about it. I wouldn't have expected Lilly to be as strong this season as in the last two. She's had a gun pointed at her head, and that has so got to change a person! I certainly agree that something is different this season, but apart from the lessening of Lilly screen time I don't think the changes are negative, to me anyway.

Sometimes I wonder if maybe the only thing that's wrong with this season is, I'm much more picky than last season. Last season I just took whatever the show gave me. This season I had hopes and expectations, I'd discussed lots of things with you guys, so my way of seeing the show is different.
:smile13: Eurache... believe or not, I don't PMS. :smile79:

It just seems that they just tried developing everyone but Lily, like Scotty and Stillman with his daughter and ex-wife, and 2 new detectives, but I'm still positive...I still love the show, and I still find the actual cases as good as ever, although some may argue with that, but I've really identified with alot of victims this season, so I think that aspect of CC is just fine...maybe the season will go on a different path after its extended break, they may do something big to make sure they get their viewers back...

When you say viewers back you surely mean the faith viewers have in the show cos I'm not sure thew ratings have been suffering at all. I agree that the cases have been as good and that some of the victims have been easy to identify with. They have more outwardly developed the other characters while Lilly's own personal developments have been subtle and placed in the background. I think the second half of the season will focus on Lilly a little more, if CC/CBS have been reading and taking note of everything that has been said!! I think alot of the disatifaction has arisen from the first five episodes where the team dynamics were totally screwed with and the complete neglect of Lilly left most feeling the show was taking a nose dive. That's what I was thinking anyway!!! I'll agree with what DF said in another thread, since Saving Patrick Bubley this season is back on top form. I'm loving it, and I really can't wait to see what they are gonna do to with Lilly next!! It's her turn for some personal stuff now!!
