I know it's a little early to start to think about this, but the idea was stuck in my head and I wanted to think what other people thought about it.....
Basically, we know Scotty's girlfriend Elisa died falling off a bridge, but we don't know exactly how. Was she pushed? Did she jump? It seems the writers this season have been trying to build up some suspense about it, there was this whole scene in 'Start Up' where Scotty is interrogating some suspect about it but it turns out it wasn't him...it just struck me that her case is a cold case, and very personal, so maybe the writers would want to take it further....

Umm... lils231, I'm not sure exactly what season you're on, but in 3x05 (gosh, I'm not sure--correct me if I'm wrong), they kinda close that chapter.

Umm... lils231, I'm not sure exactly what season you're on, but in 3x05 (gosh, I'm not sure--correct me if I'm wrong), they kinda close that chapter. True it appeared that Scotty closed the chapter. But I can see if it did reappear. However I'm not sure if if would be good to bring it up again after watching Scotty put the note in the river. If they did a season finale about Elissa, I don't think it would make for a good season finale. So far this season we haven't had something as good as Mindhunter or even The Woods or some of the other good S2 eps. ie., Daniela, The Sleepover, Strange Fruit to name a few I think they have sacrificed the personal storylines to bring in a new detective. I feel that was a mistake for the series to make such an endeavor in the manner they executed it and then fire someone in the process. Who knows, maybe "Josie chippy" will return for the finale? Wouldn't that just tee off the base fans even more. But back to your thought of having this Elissa being a series finale. I don't think that would be interesting and exciting. Hmmm, what could be a good season finale, though? ;D ~Naj :smile80:

OOPS! I must've missed those episodes, but what exactly do you mean when you say scotty closed the chapter?

Agreed! What are the chances of us getting that for S3? What can Veena whip up for the Lilly fans? :smile61: :smile92:

maybe they are waiting for the finale , maybe the writer will sneak in Lilly's mother and her ex-finace and some major feelings will be reveled

I personally think it will be some sort of high-risk situation, probably NOT involving Lilly (because she was the subject of last season's finale), and it'll end as a cliffhanger. Lilly will probably have a minor cliffhanger, something personal.
Mind you, that's not what I want--it's how I think it'll be.

lils231 - In one of the recent episodes, Scotty found out that a possible suspect in Elisa's death was lying about his supposed involvement. Later in that episode, he placed the letter that she had left for him in the river that took her life. I think that was the writer's way of closing the chapter on the Elisa storyline, but you never know.

As long as our Lilly is the focus of the season finale then I'll be okay. I will be seriously disappointed with anything else.
If "Josie chippy" comes back I will seriously give CC and CBS a piece of my mind, but I think they are sane enough not to do that to us!!!
Cliffhanger?? Not for me, I don't think I could bare the wait till the 4 season.
Thw Woods was such a perfect episode [great case, massive amount of Lilly] they are gonna have to pull out something pretty spectacular to rival it.

I saw that episode where he places the letter in the river, but all that means is that emotionally he closed the chapter. At the end of the day, however, the case is still unsolved, and the writers may feel that a very personal cold case would make a fitting ending...
I'm not saying that's what I want, because I would much rather the focus be on Lily, but I could see them do something like that, if not in the finale, then maybe just a regular episode...

All I hope is that the season finale will be centered in Lilly. This is something that has to be always like that, because she's the center of the show. I'd be extremely disappointed in the finale was centered around Scotty or anyone else. But, regarding Elisa's case, I don't think it was really closed either. Scotty may have thrown the letter away, but her case still remains open (or not, if it was ruled as a suicide, but you get my point) and it'll always be a soft spot for Scotty...

I think the actor who portrayed the Defunct Detective burned that bridge with CBS, so I can't imagine the network bringing her back for any future episodes. I would be happy with any finale that is Lilly-centric as well.

I have to admit that I won't be happy with any season finale this does not have Lilly as the central storyline. I was just ribbing about SB but really it wouldn't be funny.

DF, you don't want a high-risk situation involving the boys or you don't want a cliffhanger? Or both? I personally like the high-risk idea, but the cliffhanger, NO WAY! :smile44:

High-risk idea is good, and not overdoing Lilly is also good IMO (don't wanna burn all our options ahead of time--patience, boys and girls). I'd prefer if we had a Lilly-centric one but it might be too much. They'd have to do it really well. And I HATE cliffhangers with all my heart. Don't think I'd be able to stand one on this particular series. But I just don't see how they're gonna pass up their chance.
Actually... cliffhangers are hard to do on this show. It's all about closure after all. WTF would they do about the closing montage? Hadn't thought of that before.
