I didn't find any other threads about a semi-short article about Cold Case in TVGuide.... it has a few spoilers so I'm posting it here of course. It also has a pic of Morris and Pino. I don't have a scanner unfortunately. But here's the article:


Where we left off: Det. Lilly Rush (Kathryn Morris) took out a serial killer, but not before he got her to reveal how she was brutally attacked as a child.

The aftermath: "Rush had her first kill," Morris says. "It wasn't a pleasant experience, and that's going to be filtering in." Her partner, Det. Scott Valens (Danny Pino), will come out of his emotional tailspin over the death of his fiancee. "But it's still a big question in his mind as to whether she committed suicide or was pushed," Pino says.

New face: General Hospital's the one who's name we shall not say Joy Brown join the squad as a new detective. "We meet her under a cloud of suspicion, so she's not immediately welcome," says executive producer Meredith Stiehm.

I like this. I'm sure we'll see much attitude be thrown around and I'm all for "Josie chippy" having to prove herself, although I don't think she'll be feeling the same about that.

Sounds like this season premiere's gonna be everything I had hoped for and then some. Let's see if it pans out.

Awesome! Can anyone give me info about Lily's abuse as a kid? Is this why Christina turned out the way she did? I know Geore was taunting her, but a viewer who's watched from start can give me a clearer picture about what happened to her as a child.

I didn't know that was her first killing, too. The BASTARD! This is gonna screw with her head, man. Afterwards, she looked completely out of it, like she hated herself for what she'd done to George. And she kept Valens and the others at a distant while she internalized the shooting. And George's comments about her sister and the photos she keeps nearby and how his will affect her, was eerie. It's a great foreshadow for Season 3. Does Lily feel she failed her sister, too???

Just maybe this is part of the reason "Josie chippy" comes into the picture. Maybe they need someone to relate to Lily in the aftermath of this shooting. I don't know; I'm grasping at straws here. And many are circumspect about why they need another detective to join the season: are we sure no one will die off this year?

I've seen shows in the past bring on a new character because one may be leaving.

Anyone care to discuss my wandering mind? LOL!

I'm already intrigued by this show and it took ONE episode to do so. Can't wait for the 25th! EEEE!

I'm sure attitude will be thrown around. From the episode I've seen it seems as if Lily has to fight to get things done to. Like them all wanting her to stay put while they checked out THE WOODS for George's suspect ways.

As if Lily was gonna just sit around and not take action. I picked up that she has her own mind and doesn't care too much when someone tries to keep her from getting involved in things. Am I right?

So it'll be cool for another female to come on and maybe have a tenuous rapport with Lily. I hope there's tension and that eventually they'll come to respect one another.

All in due time. We don't want things settled over a couple of shows. I want the cases to take utmost importance and along the way the detectives settle into a routine.

What we know about Lil's attack is what was revealed on "The Woods" (it looks like you've watched it, right?). She was attacked one night on her way to the liquor store to buy booze to her mother. Guy broke her jaw and five teeth. Besides that trauma, there's the fact that Lil's mother was an alcoholic and promiscuous woman (it hasn't been stated that she was abusive... at least I never got that feeling). We know nothing about her father but it seems like he was out of the picture during the girls' childhood. About Christina, she wasn't involved in the attack but we don't know about the girls homelife. So we don't know if she was a victim of something. Personally I believe she's just a "bad seed" (I don't like her very much...).

About one of the detectives dying/leaving. We didn't get any info on that direction but then we hardly get spoilers for CC. I hope this isn't the case, though.

I see you're very excited with the show, luvthe one who's name we shall not saybrown. That's great! I hope you'll enjoy it even more after season 3 begins.

I watched it and heard that story from George, but I didn't know if it went much deeper than that.

See I used to write fanfictions, lol.... and I always delved deeper into the psyches of my characters. I sometimes forget on television that time is of essence and that they don't have a lot of time to go futher than the surface of a character's integrity.

LOL!

I sometimes get carried away with simple things.

So the story that happened is what it is. I shouldn't make more of it? Season 3 could do a lot worse than to go with that attack story. It may make sense why Lily is the only female detective. Why she's in a profession where men generally rule.

But then again, that could be the start of some nice Cold Case fanfic! LOL!

I have a feeling I'll enjoy this show. I'm already waiting for the reruns to air on TNT


I forgot to add about Lily's mother. She was an alcoholic and was promiscuous, too. She was abusive. Especially if her children watched her on the binge of sex and booze. Mental abuse is just as bad as physical.

It would explain Christina's behavior and why Lily feels she has to save the lives of her Cold Cases.

I just think I should start writing again. I miss doing so, lol...

That's great news, luvthe one who's name we shall not saybrown! We're in desperate straits for more fanfic writers. I love fanfic dearly but I don't have as much time to read it as I used to (there are a dozen or so I haven't reviewed *sniffles*), can't wait to have you on board. Hopefully you'll be joining in and giving us a different viewpoint!

More fanfic - oh, I'm all for it. What I read of Cold Case fanfic so far made me like this genre again. Compliments to all writers. So, if you really decide to write something, luvthe one who's name we shall not saybrown I certainly will look for it.

Arg. TVGuide don't give much away, do they? Only so much that I'm even more on the edge. But it's great to hear something from KM though. So, the aftermath of killing Georg will be filterd in - good! I hoped they would do. And I hope in a week I will hear so much more from you about the premiere (I'll have to wait longer to see it.)

Thanks for the pic! KM looks beautiful! Why do I hear so much about her hair? I like it? It's unkempt and sexy for a detective. As if they have time to comb their hair and keep it that way while solving crimes. I always laugh at these soaps stars who go through hell and back and still have their hair and make-up in the EXACT way, lol...

It's great that all you the one who's name we shall not say gals are so complimentary about our lovely Kathryn, and I hope you haven't thought we have been unnecessarily harsh on the one who's name we shall not say. Mind you if you had thought anything bad about Kathryn you probably haven't dared posted it for fear of the wrath of all us Kathryn fans!! :smile21: :smile21:
