Well, last night was exciting. ;D We had some new members that joined our chat which was great! ;D Lots of comments with this episode b/c it was a time of the Vietnam war. It was a sad time b/c back then our soldiers weren't praised or supported as our soldiers are presently. Vietnam at that time was felt was not a war to happen. Alot of POWs were tortured severly back then and when they came home; their lives have changed. Actually I think anyone that goes to war will come home as a changed person.
Here is a synopsis of what was discussed:
That's about all I remembered, I was busy in between helping Soccerulz with her problem in signing in. All in all, I think Soccer and the rest of our chat gang did a great job. It was a pleasure to see some more members to join our chat!
If there is anything I missed, please add on or correct me if I goofed
Here is a synopsis of what was discussed:
- this was Stillman's turn; it was his era and he was very tough on this case.
- Carl Burton was received as a hero; he sees himself as a traitor and coward
- Carl's son had collected bracelet IDs and made a box for his dad when he would come home from the war.
- Carl's wife made friends with a Ken who took over Carl's life. Pretended he was Carl and was in the Vietnam war. Took Carl's son to the zoo and wine & dined Carl's wife
- A new person showed up, a Ms Miller who was working for Narcotics division; she hinted to Stillman she is open for a position in their squad.
- Another POW was still in prison in Vietnam and his son Daniel would follow Carl to ask about his dad, Rex. Carl tried to avoid Daniel, but finally told him how brave his father was.
- More POWs have come home and told Rex's family what really happened. In order for him to come home, Carl told VCs (Vietcongs) what they wanted to hear and was sent home early. Other POWs were still in prison including Rex and endured more torture.
- it was at Rex's funeral that Carl was asked to leave. Daniel, the son of Rex, was very angry. Wanted to know why Carl came home and not his father.
- A week or so? after Carl came home, he is found in the streets with the gun to the side. It was thought to be maybe suicide.
- We discover it's Rex's son, Daniel, that shot Carl and realized what he had done. Carl had forgived him and told him to run. He died then.
- Carl had discovered that Ken had wine & dined his wife and posed as him. Ken didn't take the ID bracelets as he claimed before, but Carl just left it with him with a heated exchange of words.
- Lilly was tough again and disgusted with Carl's wife who presently had a drinking problem
- there was alot of good music in this episode as Byrdman pointed out - "Draggin the Line" - "Rocket Man" - to name a few...
- All in all, this was a very emotional episode and I feel a great episode.
- to add with humor ;D DF hands were itching and all of us were itching too. DF had not given her cat a bath, I hope she did now
