Well we had exciting chat last night and here is the run down of what we talked about:
- It was a 1978 murder case with couples watching Jamie Lee Curtis in Halloween movie. We all had impression it was going to be a spookie one b/c of the hyped advertisement with the knife and Lilly. But some fans were disappointed it was not a scary one.
- it was pointed out that the Halloween movie's flashbacks kindof captured the mood. However, it was pointed out that the movie scenes were out of order
- There was more of Lilly in this episode, espec. at the end when she did some interrogating.
- This time Vera and "Josie chippy" (the actor who portrayed the Defunct Detective) were together. Some funny lines were said with Vera's whole card game side story.
- This episode, since it was a car accident, had brought back memories to Jeffries. He was extremely upset with this case and barked at "Josie chippy" with a comment she said. All in the end, we find out Jeffries's wife was killed in an auto accident, a hit and run.
- it was felt that suspects were played out good. Just like the old times At first you suspected that the father did it, then thought the son did it.. then Vikki's boyfriend. All in all, it was a surprise as to who did it
- Discussion was in regards to mysterious killing of Angus. Angus was in love with Vikki and proposed to her, but Vikki had a boyfriend, Greg, but she and Greg were playing the jealous game. Based on the flashbacks, Vikki doesn't go on Greg's motorcycle, but goes in Angus's car. Angus's date goes with Greg. They seem to be racing, Angus not paying attention; a flat truck is pulling out as Angus turns the corner; Angus's car goes up in the air and flips over. Angus crawls out, but Vikki is still in the car. Later on, you learn what exactly happens and how she gets paralyzed.
- The scene starts with this movie, Halloween, and there seems to be some discomfort among Vikki's friends. We see Angus wheeling out Vikki, Greg with Angus's girlfriend. Vikki's father shows up to pick up Vikki and take her home. Lot of tension with this scene and a comment that Greg said to Angus.
- Six months later, it seems, Angus is stabbed to death. Was it Vikki's angry father? was it her brother? Greg? alot of suspects here.
- Lot of discussions in regards to Scotty; he seemed to be less cocky in this episode and we are not getting the impression that he's the lead guy as portrayed before.
- Lots of discussions with some the actor who portrayed the Defunct Detective fans; "Josie chippy" seems to be slowly getting to know her new surroundings. At the end, you see her and Vera playing cards. So, I think things will smooth out with having "Josie chippy" with our gang.
- Angus's mom said something to Lilly when she approached her to investigate. Lilly felt there was not case b/c they assumed the killer was a serial one (flashback of serial killings) of Eddie Foster which they assumed he killed her son. She asks Lilly about the "Acts of Kindness" Lily says; "I don't go for that." Then Angus mom adds about how about finding the the truth. In the end of the story, you see Angus's mom hugs a startled Lilly. Lilly finally does understand and hugs back.
- One scene with Jeffries and Vikki's father; Vikki's father tells Jeffries, He forgives Angus for what he done, but he would never kill. Jeffries retorts; "You can never forgive someone who took away a life." (not exact works, but you get the jist). But in the end with the song "Dream On" you see a Dream flashback that Jeffries saves his wife from being hit by a truck. Next you see Angus swerving to avoid running into the flat truck. So, you see Jeffrey has some type of release or an understanding in forgiving. A sort of "Burying the Hatchet"
- One more thing.. was the surprise ending as to who killed Angus It was the fireman, Ian, that rescued Vikki from the car with the Jaws of Life. IN a flashback, we see that Vikki was moving and felt pain in her legs. What caused her paralysis was Ian (Fireman) using the Jaws of Life too fast in trying to open the door. In doing so, he caused Vikki's plight in being paralyzed. IN feeling guilty, we find out ( and wonder who he was in the beginning of the story and portrayed as Vikki's husband) that he married her out of guilt when Angus was her true love. Angus was reviewing a firemen's manual (which we thought he wanted to be a fireman) and found out what big error Ian did. Ian panicked and killed Angus; he made it seemed that the Serial killer did it or a copy cat.
- Oh and DF's cat was put to bed early LOL
If anyone else has anything to add or to point out an error, please do so. Thanks ;D
