12.9 to 14.8 this week! Oh good tv. You can give us all the industry analysis too if you care too. I'd be interested in your interpretation and I'm sure there are others who don't always post out there that would read it too. If you care to. I haven't charted this but I'm wondering what the top three eps are so far, in viewership, for Season 1. ~Naj

I will keep an eye out for analysis types of articles that apply to CC. I read plenty of them in general, but not too many specific to CC. I read something not too long ago about the popularity of "procedural dramas" like Law and Order and the JB shows. The article talked about the fact that these shows are easy to sell into syndication (where shows make most of their money) b/c you can air them in any order and people will be able to follow them for the most part. Networks love shows that are easy sells for syndication. I too would be interested in finding out what CC episodes have gotten the highest ratings.

Hey guys. Sorry this is late. I'm having a crazy busy day at work! Anyway, here's the article on the overnights from Zap2it.com: ---------------------------------------------- NBC Sunday Leaves Competition Shaken Fast National ratings for Sunday, May 2, 2004. NBC's big budget miniseries gamble on the four-hour "10.5" seems to have paid off. The disaster drama scored big ratings for the network, yielding both overall and demographic victories on Sunday. NBC averaged an 8.4 rating/14 share for the night, narrowly topping CBS' 8.3/14 (NBC had a much more commanding margin in total viewers). ABC was well back in third with a 5.9/10, beating FOX's 5.2/9. The WB had a 1.9/3 for the night. Among adults 18-49, NBC had a solid 5.0 rating for the night, comfortably ahead of ABC and FOX, which posted the same 3.9 rating in the coveted demographic. CBS had a 3.0 rating, with The WB trailing at 1.3. NBC's win for the night was even more impressive considering how the night began. CBS began on top with an 8.2/15 for "60 Minutes." FOX got a NASCAR-aided 5.2/10 out of two episodes of "King of the Hill," with "America's Funniest Home Videos" putting ABC in third. NBC was fourth with the 3.9/7 for "Dateline." The WB was fifth with a reairing of "High School Reunion." At 8 p.m., CBS got a 9.0/15 out of "Cold Case" to stay in first. ABC had an impressive 7.5/12 from "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" to move up to second, beating the 5.7/9 for two episodes of "The Simpsons" on FOX. NBC remained fourth with Dateline." On The WB, "Charmed" had a 2.4/4. The first hour of "10.5" scored an 11.6/18 to move NBC into first. CBS was second with the 8.1/12 first hour of the movie "The Book of Ruth." ABC's "Alias" had its standard 5.4/8 for third place, beating FOX's double dose of "Malcolm in the Middle." On The WB, the finale of "High School Reunion" did a 2.0/3. NBC closed the night in first with the 12.9/21 second hour of "10.5." CBS stayed in second with "The Book of Ruth," as the penultimate episode of "The Practice" did a 5.8/9 on ABC. # Ratings information provided is from fast national data. On TVTome, the rating for The Plan came in a great second, and I don't know if I've seen it on the boards with the exception of "Greed" since A Time To Hate. I can barely wait for next season.

Hubris was a good episode! I didn't stay up to watch it though. But I have it taped. Looks like the 10pm slot might be where they put it for summer.

Here are last night's overnight ratings for the season finale. Looks like Cold Case won the entire night! Here's the article from Zap2it.com: << 'Errors' is Human, But CBS Divine on Sunday Fast National ratings for Sunday, May 23, 2004. The ratings for ABC's telefilm "Reversible Errors" were better than the numbers for last week's "Helter Skelter," but failed to break the bank. Still, the Scott Turrow adaptation performed well enough to help CBS coast to a Sunday victory. Overall, CBS averaged an 8.5 rating/14 share for the night, comfortably ahead of NBC's 6.8/11 and ABC's 5.7/10. FOX was fourth with a 4.8/8 and The WB had a 2.0/3 for fifth. Among adults 18-49, ABC snuck in and grabbed a slim win with a 3.7 rating. FOX was second in the key demographic at 3.5, with NBC's 3.4 rating close behind. CBS took fourth with a 2.5 rating, better than the 1.3 for The WB. CBS began the night in first with the 7.7/15 for "60 Minutes." "America's Funniest Home Videos" on ABC and NBC's "Dateline" posted the same 4.6/9, but the ABC show had a large advantage in total viewers. FOX got a 3.6/7 out of a repeat of "The Simpsons" and a new "King of the Hill." The WB trailed with yet another encore of "Superstar USA" and the beginning of "There's Something About Mary." **The season finale of "Cold Case" scored a solid 9.2/15 for CBS in the 8 p.m. hour. ABC moved up to second with the impressive 7.2/12 for "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition." NBC was third with "Dateline" as the season finales of "The Simpsons" and "Malcolm in the Middle" averaged a 5.2/9 on FOX. The WB was in fifth with its movie** The first hour of "Reversible Errors" earned an 8.9/14 to give CBS a slim win over the 8.3/13 for NBC's "Law & Order: Criminal Intent." FOX was third with yet another repackaged "American Idol" special. ABC was fourth as the season finale of "Alias" had a 5.1/8. The end of The WB's movie had a 2.5/4. At 10 p.m., NBC moved into first as "Crossing Jordan" had an 8.8/14 and "Reversible Errors" slipped to an 8.2/13. ABC trailed with "Super Millionaire." # Ratings information provided is from fast national data. All numbers are preliminary and subject to change. >>

Thanks TV! I wonder how many million that translates into? Nice ito hear it took the night, though. Here's what I got on TV Tracker: www.tvtracker.com/daily_ratings.php-Sunday's Ratings Winners: 60 Minutes (CBS), Cold Case (CBS), Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (ABC), Law & Order: Criminal Intent (NBC), Crossing Jordan (NBC) -Honorable Mention: Scott Turow's Reversible Errors, part one (CBS) -Ratings Breakdown: Ignited by a 10.7/17 in the overnights for the season finale of Cold Case at 8 p.m., CBS won this final Sunday of the May sweeps with an average 29 percent advantage over second-place NBC. At 7 p.m., the Eye net's 60 Minutes (8.8/16) held the No. 1 spot for the umpteenth week in the overnights, followed by the first hour of NBC's expanded Dateline (5.1/ 9), the season finale of America's Funniest Home Videos on ABC (4.7/ 9), The Simpsons R (3.5/ 6) and King of the Hill (4.0/ 7) on Fox, and a half-hour repeat edition of Superstar USA on the WB (1.8/ 3). Following Cold Case at 8 p.m. was the season finale of ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (8.3/13), the season finales of Fox's The Simpsons (6.6/10) and Malcolm in the Middle (5.2/ 8), and the second hour of NBC's Dateline (5.0/ 8). Once the nationals are released, look for ABC's Extreme Makeover Home Edition to finish first in the 8 p.m. hour among adults 18-49. On the WB, repeat theatrical There's Something About Mary averaged a 2.6/ 4 from 7:30-10 p.m. At 9 p.m., although part one of CBS miniseries Scott Turow's Reversible Errors averaged a respectable 9.0/13 from 9-11 p.m., it wasn't enough to beat the season finale of NBC's Law & Order: Criminal Intent (9.7/13) and unexpected hit Crossing Jordan (9.7/14). On ABC, the season finale of Alias, which will return with new episodes in midseason, scored a typically non-spectacular 6.4/ 9, followed by the final episode of the latest Super Millionaire arc at a 7.2/12 at 10 p.m. On Fox, 9 p.m. special, American Idol: The Phenomenon, averaged a 5.8/ 9 at 9 p.m. As for who will be named the next American Idol on Wednesday, my pick sinceday one is Fantasia Barrino. Next season, Sunday will feature four new shows, three Fox series in new time periods, one returning show -- Steve Harvey's Big Time on the WB -- on a new day and time, and ABC's Alias in midseason. Take a look: Sunday in Fall 2004 ABC: 7:00 p.m. America's Funniest Home Videos 8:00 p.m. Extreme Makeover: Home Edition 9:00 p.m. DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES (Alias in midseason) 10:00 p.m. THE PRACTICE: FLEET STREET CBS: 7:00 p.m. 60 Minutes 8:00 p.m. Cold Case 9:00 p.m. Sunday Movie NBC: 7:00 p.m. Dateline 8:00 p.m. American Dreams 9:00 p.m. Law & Order: Criminal Intent 10:00 p.m. Crossing Jordan FOX: 7:00 p.m. King of the Hill (new time) 7:30 p.m. Malcolm in the Middle (new time) 8:00 p.m. The Simpsons 8:30 p.m. Arrested Development (new time) 9:00 p.m. THE PARTNER WB: 7:00 p.m. Steve Harvey's Big Time (new day and time) 8:00 p.m. Charmed 9:00 p.m. JACK AND BOBBY Source: Nielsen Media Research data ~Naj

After a very long search, I was only able to find a few of the other episodes' ratings unfortuntely. If anyone knows any way of finding the other ratings, please feel free to post them. Here's what I found: Look Again (Pilot) - 15.85 million viewers *It was CBS's most watched premiere in the time period since 1999. Gleen - 13.96 million viewers Resolutions - 14.3 million viewers Late Returns - 14.2 million viewers Greed - 12.9 million viewers Maternal Instincts - 14.8 million viewers The Plan - 14.4 million viewers Lover's Lane - 14.5 million viewers Sorry I couldn't find any others. I'll keep looking though. We'll have to do a better job next season. One interesting thing, CC is up 15.32% over the same time slot last year according to thefutoncritic.com.

Looks like last week's ratings are finally out. CC's first summer rerun wasn't in the Top 20 for the week, but it did win it's timeslot according to zap2it.com. I'm hoping it will crack the Top 20 next week since there won't be so many reality shows having their final episodes. This past week we had American Idol (2 nights), The Swan, and Super Millionaire (2 nights) all in the Top 20 according to USAToday.com. Plus the fact that it was Memorial Day Weekend probably didn't help any either. I wish they would atleast post the total viewers for CC so we could see how many people watched it.

Just found the overnights, and it looks like CC came in second for its timeslot. NBA Finals on ABC took the whole night, leading every hour they were on. CC got 7.3/13 compared to the NBA's 8.0/14 (in the 8pm hour). You can read the full article at zap2it.com under tv.

The weekly ratings are out for June 7-13, and it looks like Cold Case ("Hitchhiker") came in 10th for the week!!!! And, the top three programs were NBA playoffs, which are now officially over. Maybe CC will move up even higher next week. CC had 11.2 million viewers which isn't bad for a rerun. Looking back in this thread, it looks like it averaged about 14 million for new episodes, which means it didn't drop off very much. Consider CSI - during first run episodes, it averages about 25-30 million viewers. This week, it only had 13.8 - half as many! I wonder if this means that CC is picking up more viewers over the summer. Plus, it's a good sign because networks love shows that rerun well. Here's the link to USAToday.com for the full ratings info for the week. www.usatoday.com/life/television/nielsen.htm

The overnights are posted on Zap2it.com. Looks like Cold Case won its timeslot last night with "Volunteers." CC had a 7.5/15 rating. Maybe we'll see a repeat performance in the Top 10?? Keep your fingers crossed!
