I think that there has to be a balance. I agree that Scotty has helped Lill open up more, but I'm just concerned that the show might shift its focus from "the lone female detective in the Philadelphia homicide squad who finds her niche when she's assigned to "cold cases" (from the CBS web site) to something like a two person team of dets who solve cold cases. This would make me unhappy. I like Lilly's relationship with Scotty and I think it adds to the show, but I don't want the focus off of her. As far as the quality of acting goes, I think that Danny Pino is amazing! I'm surprised he hasn't done more projects b/c he truly is a good actor. I also think that Kathryn is an amazing actor. In both "Sherry Darlin'" and this week's rerun "Fly Away," she really proved her talent. I wouldn't say that Danny is better than Kathryn. I think that Kathryn has an amazing ability to tranform into the characters that she plays to the point where you don't even realize the same actress played the roles. She also has an ability to make you remember her characters even if the role was small (The Contender is a great example of this). Anyway, I think that they are both incredible talents (as is the entire cast on CC), and I'm glad they're all a part of such a wonderful show.

I like everyones opinions on this, makes it so much more fascinating ;D Im going with TVFan on this one. Scotty is definitely important in helping Lilly open up. But like TVFan said, the show is about the only female detective in the homicide division. I would hate to see it any other way.
As for acting jobs... I think they are all soo talented. I would LOVE to have half the talent that they have.

I just noticed that CBS added a picture of Scotty to CC's page at cbs.com. Last time I remember checking that page (near the season's finale) they had only a big picture of Lilly and pictures of Stillman and Vera on the background. Now there's a pic of Scotty near them.
This only shows he's come to stay. But, if they added a picture of Scotty, they should add one of Jeffries too... it's really unfair to leave him out!

Yea, why do every one but one? that makes it out to be like hes unimportant, and he's not! *not that CBS's site is up to par otherwise, but...*
