Okay the year for this episode is 1984. Here's a list of the top songs from that year. Anyone know if this is the aforementioned John Mellancamp episode? If so, then I'll have to come up with a different list. Assuming it's not, here are my guesses: Caribbean Queen (No More Love On The Run) - Billy Ocean I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues - Elton John Purple Rain - Prince & The Revolution Hard Habit To Break - Chicago You Might Think - The Cars

When "The House" was getting ready to air, there was a lot of build-up for it being an all Johnny Cash music episode so my guess is we will begin to hear about John Mellencamp's music filled episode long before it airs. My guesses are: "Head Over Heels," by The Go-Go's "Love Somebody," by Rick Springfield "Sunglasses At Night" by Corey Hart "I Can Dream About You," by Dan Hartman "Oh Sherry," by Steve Perry "99 Luftballons" by Nena "Twist Of Fate," by Olivia Newton-John "Here Comes The Rain Again" by Eurythmics "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go," by Wham! "Against All Odds (Take A Look At Me Now)" by Phil Collins "Dancing In The Dark," by Bruce Springsteen (A favorite of mine and it was also used brilliantly in a scene in one of my favorite movies, "Lawn Dogs.")

Okay, I'll bite. There's some really good songs I like from that year. There are just too many from that list I like.
But here's the guesses despite the songs I really like.
"On the Dark Side" by John Cafferty & The Beaver Brown Band
"Let the Music Play" by Shannon
"Almost Paradise" by Mike Reno & Ann Wilson
"Tell Me I'm Not Dreaming" by Jermaine Jackson
"The Glamorous Life" by Sheila E.
"Better Be Good To Me" by Tina Turner

This is a little tough considering songs don't necessarily have to be from the year.
"Jump" by Van Halen (David Lee Roth needs the money) "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" by Cyndi Lauper (Her songs have been used frequently) "Relax" by Frankie goes to Hollywood (I have a feeling) "Missing You" by John Waite
Final Song Guesses "Drive" by the Cars "Almost Paradise" by Mike Reno and Ann Wilson "If Ever You're In My Arms Again" by Peobo Bryson *Although technically a 1985 song, "I Want to Know What Love Is" by Foreigner
These are my guesses. We'll probably all be wrong as songs are usually not from the year of the case.

Wow! I didn't make any correct guesses before this aired. But I know several of the songs.
Does anyone know the Brit Band? I don't think they were from the US.

Yea I noticed the box said May 1982. Here's what I have: Under Pressure by David Bowie and Freddie Mercury Say a Prayer by Duran Duran Caught Up In You (can't remember the band name) Dancing With Myself by Billy Idol 867-5309 Jenny by Tommy Tutone (spelling) Don't Stop Believing by Journey I need that other band. I don't ever remember that song but I'm a sucker for foreign bands.... ~Naj

Naj, "Caught Up In You" is a .38 Special song The lyrics can be found at: www.38special.com/lyrics/caughtup.htm There was a blues song in this episode when Scotty was talking to Lil's sister. The chorus was like: It's not that I wish you were dead I just wish I'd never met you Does anyone know what artist does this song. In has an 80's feel to it, but it was in a present day scene. Very interesting. thx

I'm guessing that it's a newer song, but the voice definitely sounds familiar. I'm hoping someone will know it, or recognize the artist, and can point us in the right direction! BTW, the song by Duran Duran was "Save a Prayer", one of my favorite songs from the 80s. (This is the part where I start feeling my age....)

Naj, Can you tell me what the scene was that it was playing in and I'd be glad to look into it for you. Well now I'm not able to remember what song number it was. Here's what I had guessed: Under Pressure by David Bowie and Freddie Mercury Save a Prayer by Duran Duran Caught Up In You by 38 Special Dancing With Myself by Billy Idol 867-5309 Jenny by Tommy Tutone (spelling) Don't Stop Believing by Journey It was either right before Billy Idol or right after. There weren't that many songs this episode and I think we have 6 of the 7 or 8. I didn't tape the episode so I don't remember which scene because I had drop in company too! <sigh> I checked Talie's site and she doesn't have anything there either. That's the site we have a banner showing in this forum at the top...sorry I wish I could be more specific. ~Naj

It's the scene when Mike comes to Lindsay's house to discuss stealing the valuables in the house.
I've tried to figure out the lyrics. I'm sure I've heard the song before but I can't seem to find the artist. I'll keep trying though.

I'm not sure of the song number, but it was playing during the scene with Scotty and Christine (Lil's sister), when Scotty and Christine were playing "I Never" in the bar after hours.
Does anyone remember the songs before and after that scene? We could determine the song number that way, if it helps us.
I figure that it must be a new song, if I can't find the lyrics for it on the Web....

It's the song jdavey referred to in an earlier post. It's not a song I remember from the 80s (note: my friends refuse to play the Pop-Up Video Board Game with me because I remember the 80s a little too well), though I could be mistaken on that front. Since it was in a modern-day scene, I'd guess that it's a modern-day song as well. Just a hunch.... There was a blues song in this episode when Scotty was talking to Lil's sister. The chorus was like: It's not that I wish you were dead I just wish I'd never met you Does anyone know what artist does this song. In has an 80's feel to it, but it was in a present day scene. Well this song only has one line of that:
Artist: 48 May Song : Home By 2
Lyrics :
Friday night and feeling good to go Met this girl i'd like to get to know
How could I have been so blind Wish i'd never met her
All tied up On the floor This is not what I signed up for I wonder if she knows the things that hurt the most Cut me deep and burn me too close Do you think i'll be fine
Friday night and feeling good to go Met this girl i'd like to get to know
She does things that girls just shouldn't do Take her out and have her home by 2
How could I have been so blind Wish i'd never met her
All tied up On the floor This is not what I signed up for I wonder if she knows the things that hurt the most Cut me deep and burn me too close Do you think i'll be fine
All tied up On the floor This is not what I signed up for I wonder if she knows the things that hurt the most Cut me deep and burn me too close Do you think i'll be fine
All tied up On the floor This is not what I signed up for I wonder if she knows the things that hurt the most Cut me deep and burn me too close Do you think i'll be fine
Do you think i'll be fine? Do you think i'll be fine?
i can't find an audio clip...
