Remember the Dybbuk Box? Famed director Sam Raimi (the Spiderman movies, the Hudsucker Proxy) is developing a film based on the story of the Dybbuk Box, we’re revisiting the whole disturbing and fascinating story. So listen as the original and current owners compare notes on the effects of this demon-haunted artifact from prewar Poland. In February of 2004, one of the most watched auctions in Ebay history took place, of a small 'wine box' that seemed to be haunted, and to bring its owners horrible luck.
The box had been bought in an estate sale, and the buyer warned that there was something 'wrong' with it. It contained some seemingly innocuous items--a lock of hair, some pennies, a small scroll containing Hebrew letters--but nothing to suggest the terrifying and bizarre power of the box.
