After their daughter had been wheeled into the operating room, the two embraced. Scotty kissed his wife knowing she too was scared. Lilly remained cool and calm but them tears began to stream down her face.

“You didn’t do anything” he said reading into her thoughts” Allie’s strong like you”. Scotty had donated some blood just in case anything had happened.

He knew he was a good father which was important to him. It made him realize how close he could have been to avoiding a life that he now loved.

Scotty was glad that Lilly saved his life knowing they needed each other. More importantly he loved being a father and husband. His worries weren’t on his wife but on Allie. She had been through a lot and now deserved some healing time. Now with a new sibling on the way Scotty had recently bought a house.

Though he wanted to wait a little while before moving in, but now their apartment was going to become both Vera and Kat’s. She was now pregnant with his child he wanted both the baby and Veronica to have more room.

Since Allie’s heart stopped twice during surgery it was taking longer. When it is was finally over Scotty come into the recovery room seeing his little girl there. It broke his heart as flash of Lilly right after being shot was evident. Not in the present day he felt so sick that he slid down the wall crying outside.

Scotty’s fingers found her now barely visible scar before letting more tears out. Lilly took his hand” I’m here”.

He then nodded” It feels all the same Lil, almost lost you”. Not getting up the two held each other not knowing that the birth of baby number three was going to be the worse pain Lilly had ever felt. For now her mind was on Allie.

Somehow the surgery was a complete success as the two helped Allie recover. Thought it took awhile Lilly remained strong for her daughter.

Scotty was in agony blaming himself for everything, as he sat there with thoughts in his mind. Then he saw Nicholas his son standing there as the now three years old came closer.

“Daddy” he said.

Scotty then picked up his son into his arms, silently apologizing to him. He had been lousy father to him but not even his smile could lift his spirits. Allie was doing better but she still required some oxygen since her heart was still beating fast at night.

It had been a month since the nightmare case had gone away. Lilly was already showing a little as she began to pack up some more of the stuff. Peering into the bedroom she saw how withdrawn Nicholas looked.

“Hey you going to have your big boy room”

He nodded as Lilly began to play with him, during the middle of it her hands went immediately to her stomach. Nicholas placed his hand there as he felt his unborn sibling moving. His little eyes were wide as Lilly tucked him into bed.

When Allie was all ready to go home, Lilly smiled as she carried her daughter into her new room. The walls were painted purple as her eyes scanned around.

“You like it”

Allie lay in her new bed while Lilly covered her up. When Scotty walked in he immediately kissed her before she fell asleep.

“Let’s let her sleep” Lilly whispered.

Scotty then kissed her forehead before whispering some words in Spanish. After leaving the two spent time working on the nursery together when they saw Allie’s door was open. Inside Nicholas lay by his sister.

“He’s all you” Lilly whispered” But got your handsome looks to boot”.

He smiled before the two took a nap which was well needed. By the time Lilly was in her ninth month everything went wrong.

You have to finish the story LII2! Can't leave us hangin! I know how hard it is to write if you're not inspired but take a breather and maybe something will spark for you. I just hope you do continue eventually because I really like this story and want to see an ending for it. You know there was a part there a few chapters back when the killer was taunting L&S that totally reminded me of an X-Files Episode (I don't know if you watched XF but it was called "pusher") Anyway, it was a great moment and cool idea to add to your story to create more tension and drama for Lilly/Scotty. I also like Scotty maturing even more and he's such a good dad. Good stuff! Please continue when you can!!!

Now lying in the hospital Lilly wasn’t in labor but after feeling dizzy her doctor had her admitted. The baby wasn’t in any danger in fact it was stirring like crazy inside. She let out a breath before thinking about her Nicholas and Allie. Though her little girl had gone through a lot she was recovering very well although every day and night they had to check her pulse.

Now seeing Scotty standing there a smile crept onto her face.

“Hey beautiful” he said as they kissed” Baby doing alright”?

Lilly nodded as Scotty handed her some crushed ice. He had turned out to be the most loving person she’d ever met but saw how much he had changed. Now feeling his hand on her stomach she knew he wanted to hold their baby badly.

Then she felt a contraction ripping right through her. Scotty was clearly reading into her thoughts as he began to time it. He remained calm as Lilly took in a deep breath as hours began to tick on by. Soon her pain was worsening by the minute.

“Breathe” he whispered blotting her head” You’re doing good”.

Back at their house Vera noticed how Allie was sitting there alone. Coming closer she sat there touching her necklace.

“You sad “

“Quiera a mi mami” (I want my mommy) Allie replied in Spanish. Vera looked at her confused but then saw her looking right at him.

Allie sniffled back several tears before crawling into bed. She then held the book :The Velveteen Rabbit in her hands wanting her mother to read it to her.

Vera knew from the face she didn’t want his comfort. Nicholas was already in bed as he sat down on the couch before flipping on some game. At the same time Lilly was in the middle of pushing as hard as while more pain shot right through her.

Scotty then watched as their baby was being born. He loved watching this ever since bringing Allie into the world. A smile crept onto his face before the doctor looked”It’s a girl”. Lilly breathed out feeling slightly dizzy from labor.

He noticed how their daughter was struggling to breathe. Scotty gently took her tiny hand before seeing her chest rise before she cried out. The doctor then let him cut her umbilical cord before placing the infant into his arms.

He cried softly while gently rocking their daughter” Hey Te quiero” (I love you) before kissing her. After moving to separate room Lilly held her feeling much happier. She then looked up before giving their child a name: Emily Kate Valens.

Scotty liked that name before he spent time talking to her in Spanish. Lilly knew a couple of words but didn’t mind her children learning in two languages. Emily had a strong resemblance of her father but she still could see a tiny bit of her.

Now yawning the two kissed Emily good night as Scotty kissed her again” Noche buena Hermosa” (good night beautiful).

After leaving the hospital, Lilly stopped breathing as the doctors worked to restore that. Her chest heaved as she breathed in before move dizziness occurred. Meanwhile Scotty came home feeling great before seeing Allie sleeping soundly. He leaned down to kiss her before checking up on Nicholas.

Now a father of three Scotty lay back in bed waiting to bring Emily home. By morning he got up after hearing the news. Before leaving he checked Allie’s pulse before writing down the number. She was fine but now Lilly wasn’t.

At the hospital Lilly had an oxygen mask over her face but was awake. The doctor stopped to talk to him” Your wife will be staying a little longer but your daughter is okay to go home. She’s perfectly healthy” before seeing the look on his face” She’s awake but doing much better”.

Now inside of the room Scotty took her hand” You okay Lil”?

She nodded before feeling his lips kissing her. Lilly felt comforted by that as she felt sad not going home with Emily.

“You’re still a good mother. I’m proud of you” he said

Now closing her eyes, Scotty felt odd taking Emily home without his wife. Now putting her into her car seat he gently kissed her cheek. When he entered the house Vera saw how much of a good father he was before leaving.

Upstairs Allie peered into the nursery seeing her father holding a baby.

“Come here” Scotty said” You got a baby sister” as Allie looked curiously at her.

He then leaned over to kiss her” Her name’s Emily”.

Allie sat down as Scotty placed the infant into her arms “La mami y te quiero mucho” (Mommy and I love you a lot)

She started to cry as he put Emily down a bassinet” Quiera a mi mami”
“I know Mommy needs to get better”

As Scotty held her close he knew Allie had been through a lot in her four years. Now he was still so proud of her” You’re my big girl now” he told her” Todavía mi nena” (still my baby girl). Then Nicholas walked in as he peered down at the baby.

Scotty introduced him to Emily the same way not wanting either of his children to feel left out.

Later on that afternoon it was clear that all three of them wanted their mother.

During the middle of the night, Lilly tossed and turned as flashes of blood appeared. The dream was in black and white while seeing a man with a tattoo standing over her. Back home Scotty kept moving around in bed as if he was being held down by someone. Then he saw Lilly lying on the ground before her eyes snapped open.

Now breathing out heavily Scotty then got a phone call that sent his heart into pieces. Right now they were working on saving Lilly whose heart kept stopping. Fear sweated into his veins before seeing Kat getting out the car. Somehow she heard of the news, before he left he gently kissed Emily’s forehead.

After arriving at the hospital, Scotty grabbed his knees hearing the doctors shocking Lilly’s chest. Tears began to stream down fearing he was losing his love forever. Then flash backs of their past together flickered like an old movie before a heart monitor flat lined inside. Scotty cried even more knowing his wife was now dead.

Everything then went silent and dark until his eyes fluttered open. Scotty breathed out seeing Lilly lying there fast asleep. He then realized that this was all just a dream, as he heard his wife breathing out heavily.
In one motion he got dressed before the phone had rang, as Scotty heard a familiar voice on the other line.

“Horrific dream you just had, loosing pretty Lillian. You sent my brothers away but now it’s just between you and me now. Except I got your daughter make one bad mistake she grows up knowing you two didn’t love her”.

Now frantic he checked in Allie’s bedroom before seeing an open window. The Alarm never sounded as Scotty raced back calling for backup. Luckily Vera was in the area as he came in before Lilly looked at him” Find her”.

Now going with Vera she knew Scotty was the only one would be able to solve this case. Now he was running of time before Nicholas came running into his arms. There were cuts all over him “Quién herida usted” (who hurt you)

Nicholas cried” Bad man” as Scotty feared the worst. Now his daughter was missing, his son was injury and Lilly was in the hospital giving birth to their second daughter. His heart was racing as he rushed to the hospital. Once there Nicholas was fine since the cuts weren’t deep before Kat took him.

“I’ll bring him back to my place” as Stillman stood there.

In the dark place Allie sat there feeling scared. The guy kneeled down” I can make your heart feel better”.

“No usted puede no” (No you can’t) she replied in Spanish

He looked at her before taunting her some more. Allie grew even more scared as she shivered from the coldness. She now felt chest hurting as she cried out for her father. Now lying on the ground Allie breathed out “Daddy “.


Now as Lilly held their newborn daughter she cried softly. Scotty didn’t get to see her being born this time since he was driving up to Connecticut. He wanted to be there but felt better she was in a hospital and safe.

Then his phone rang again” Her chest is hurting her from all the pain you two had given her”.
Scotty eyes widened” You let her die I’ll kill you”.

A laugh was heard as he heard Allie crying out” Not when I let her watch as you die”.

Allie breathed out” No duela a mi Papá” (don’t hurt my daddy). The search came up empty before the killer showed her some blood” Daddy’s dead”.

“No he’s a cop” she answered” I want my Mommy”.

He touched her shoulder” Your heart doesn’t beat, why they want you”.

“Let me go” she screamed before hitting him in the face. Allie was one strong fighter as she began to run before dodging the man. When he caught up to her she punched and kicked him hard. Running faster she grew tired as her heart surged with pain.

When the search turned up empty Scotty worked with state police. At the hospital Kat came into the room seeing Lilly holding her daughter.

Kat smiled” She’s beautiful Lil what’s her name”?

“Madison Kate Valens” she replied before kissing her tiny cheek.
Lilly was worried so much that she made sure Madison was still loved. Upon seeing Nicholas there her heart ached as he lay next to her.

“Baby” he whispered touching his sister’s hand. Kat left them along as Lilly spent time with two of them.

Then Scotty got another phone call” Speak to her”.

“Mommy and I love you” he said

Allie cried out” My heart hurts Daddy”.

He knew that this wasn’t a good sign” Yo le encontraré” (I’m going to find you) as Scotty could hear how heavy she was breathing”Respire Allie, te quiero” (Breathe Allie, I love you).
“Es dolido” (it hurts)

Scotty knew he had to get her to hospital but didn’t know where she was” Dónde están usted” (where are you)

“Lugar oscuro” (dark place) Allie cried “Hold me Daddy” as he spoke again”Te quiero con todo el corazón” (I love you with all my heart). The killer then took the phone away from her as she touched the necklace with breathing out.

Scotty knew he had to get Allie to a hospital” Take me let my daughter go”.
“Too easy, especially that I want her to watch you die. Seeing how weak you really are”.
After hanging up Scotty walked through the woods trying to determine something as he heard a familiar voice

” Quiero ir a casa” (I want to go home) as he knew his daughter was nearby. That was setup until Scotty went through the brushes seeing a cellar door. Inside was another one leading into a tunnel; the ending came out into a basement.

Sure enough the killer had been watching them all along. There was one tape showing something that Lilly had once dreamt about while pregnant with Allie. He knew felt a cold chill running down his spine until seeing her lying there after being shot. Then seeing how almost sad Lilly looked with blood coming out of both wrists.

At the end were flashes of the murders on repeat. Scotty knew this was supposed to brainwash him but didn’t buy into it. He had to stay strong for his family but realized that he was now trapped. Time was quickly running out.

Even Lilly was scared as she made a promise to Madison before kissing her. The truth was she was scared of losing her oldest daughter and husband. She couldn’t risk never seeing Scotty again feeling that comfort and safety he provided.

Somehow she managed to stay strong this time. Now with Madison lying on her chest Lilly cried even more now.

I was a bit shocked when I read Lil' was dead!
Luckily it was all a bad dream!

I love your writing, but there's one thing I don't understand.
Lilly gets a daughter, named Emily. And then she gets another daughter all of a sudden, named Madison.
Did she get them at the same time? Or was a year between it? Or can you be pregnant of 2 kids at once?

It's sad little Allie has got heart problems. She's so young!

The killer knew that Allie wasn’t the type to believe him. In fact she was one strong little girl just like her own mother. He then decided to hurt Scotty instead without her watching. Now brining him into the room filled with murder he turned the tables on him.

Before he could everything caught on fire. Scotty raced through” Allie” he yelled loudly before picking her up into his arms” Cierre sus ojos” ( Close your eyes)he whispered. Now as the smoke grew worse as Scotty was able get her to safety before he was pulled back into the building.

When Stillman saw Allie he called for an ambulance. After she had been taken to the hospital Lilly immediately was driven to Connecticut. Now flashing her badge she was alerted that Allie had been stabilized but was receiving oxygen.

Inside of a room Lilly took hold of her daughter’s hand” I’m here” before kissing her. Scotty was alive as he worked with the forensic team to try and find more evidence. Sure enough they found six skeletons belonging to his family.

Then he saw the family standing there before seeing the woman nodding as if to silently thank him. Scotty had brought justice to them and saved his little girl. Then he found a picture of Lilly pregnant with Allie since the date was the year of her birth. Now bagging it Scotty wanted to show it to her, since the envelope it contained it was still sealed.

Then he saw some more diaries knowing that the killer was a paranoid lunatic. It told a story full of horror that made Scotty glad he was dead. He didn’t want to think how either he or Lilly would react during the interrogation.

Somehow they were able to transport Allie to a Philadelphia hospital. Her life wasn’t in danger but her doctor was connected that facility. Lilly remained home as with Madison knowing her newborn child needed her love and comfort.

Scotty arrived there as he remained at Allie’s bedside, not giving up on her. Taking out the picture he remembered first seeing her during a sonogram how tiny she once was. Now four year old she was still his baby girl.

Throughout the night he stayed with her for support. By morning he was so tired that Kat had sent him home. Once there Scotty showered and changed into some clothes. Now making his way to bed he leaned over kissing Madison for the first time.

He loved when there was new baby in the house for some reason. It made him realized how much of his life had changed in a good way. Lilly then placed her on his chest as Scotty cherished this moment; wanting more than anything for Allie to come home. He felt the need to be with her but then he fell asleep.

For the first few days Allie needed an oxygen mask as she held onto Scotty’s hand. He knew now his whole family could start to heal. The squad had made sure there was no one else left but the Connecticut State Police were going to be on alert if there was. Now Scotty’s concerned was for Allie until he heard she didn’t need any extra surgery.

That was good news but then if things didn’t get worse it did. As he was sitting there he felt a horrific pain rushing through him. Allie panicked as she saw her father in pain while squeezing his hand. Unable to talk still with the mask she tried get out before found it was impossible.

Her heart rate climbed while Allie grew scared before seeing a nurse coming in. Then a doctor entered before he called for a stretcher. He closed the curtain as the four year old kicked in bed wanting her father as tears came streaming downward.

As Scotty was prepped and rushed into surgery, Lilly came down with her two other kids. It was a good thing Kat was there. Now talking to the doctor she came back” His appendix had burst in Allie’s room”.

Lilly then went into her daughter’s room as she held her” The doctor’s going to make Daddy’s tummy better”?

Kissing her cheek, she wiped another tear away” I know your scared but I’m here”. Pulling out the book she began to read it to Allie. Somehow that instantly calmed her down but Lilly knew her daughter had gone through a lot.

Two Chapters left..

When Scotty was moved into recovery, Lilly went inside as she took of her husband’s hand. He was still the best husband and partner she could ever ask for. Now as she sat there as a flash back of the shooting played around like an old movie.

“ Want do want me to do” Scotty asked listening into his phone. Inside Lilly’s nose flared while her heart pounded with fear inside” Hey, you hear me Hey”?

Touching the now faded scar Lilly knew he had saved her life. Then came another memory of when Elisa had died seeing him in the hallway.

“ Scotty I’ve been worried” she said seeing the pain in his eyes. He mentioned about being with her family but Lilly wanted to be there for him” What can I do to help” trying to offer some way of comfort. All he cared about is where they were in the case.

Now watching his chest rising and fall Lilly got up and kissed him” I love you” as a single tear streamed out of her eyes. It left a trail down her cheek before it dropped onto his face. Gently touching his hair she hated seeing him like this.

Now back in Allie’s room she said there reading to her. Lilly then heard the sound of her mother’s voice as flashes of a memory appeared.

“ You make me read a million times” Ellen said giving her a smile. After discussing a certain part she remember touching her mother’s hand

Looking over Allie’s hand lay in hers like in that memory. Lilly knew that her mother loved her dispite everything that was never going to chance.

“ Bye Baby” her voice was calm as Lilly turned not wanting to go back.

Wiping a tear from her face she knew she was a good mother. It was tough sometimes but Lilly remained strong especially after all of this. Now putting the book down she pulled the covers up closer.

“ I love you” she whispered before kissing her. Lilly then walked out before heading home by that time she spent it with her kids. Now flying Nicholas around the living room he giggled in delight before Lilly took him up to bed.

After reading to him he drifted off as she remained there for awhile. Her lips pressed gently against his forehead” Goodnight Little Man”. Now asleep in her own bed, Lilly was able to go into a deep sleep which was well needed.

Two days later Allie was off of the oxygen as she sat up in bed coloring. The doctor was examining her as Lilly sat there. He then let her hear her own heart before taking it away.

“ Everything sounds good, her EKG is normal. She should be able to leave either this weekend or that Monday after. We’re keeping her on some heart medications but Allie should rest for awhile then she can run around and other stuff”.

Lilly nodded before kissing her daughter” Is that for Daddy” she asked
“ Yeah, I think he’ll feel better seeing that”.

Allie smiled while she braided her long blonde hair. It felt like a big relief that her heart was all better but that the killer was dead. Now everyone was starting to heal, but Scotty wasn’t out of the woods yet. He still was in pain and was now back in surgery.
“ Your baby sister misses you” Lilly said

Allie looked up” I want to go home, Mommy” before hugging her “ With Daddy”.

The next day Scotty was so much in pain that Lilly was becoming scared. In fact she saw through his mind how he felt just moments after Ed had shot her. Now swallowing back the memory before gently placing a kiss on his cheek, before placing the picture that Allie had drawn on the nightstand.

Exhaling a breath Lilly was near tears as she spoke” Hey you hear me”. His response came with a gently squeeze of her hand” You helped me though so much but I need you. Who knew that day I was going to get the most handsome, caring detective that became my husband that saved my life”.

Tears then dripped onto his face as Scotty gently raised up his hand. He was in so much pain but was glad that she remained with him.

“ I love you” Lilly said holding his hand closer to her heart. Now kissing him she got up” Hey you got two little girls a boy needing their daddy” before giving him another kiss. Scotty breathed out before closing his eyes from the pain.

On the day that Allie went home she sat there looking at picture of her father and her on a horse. Lilly came in with a bottled drink in her hands” Cowboy Daddy” she grinned never imagining that Scotty would even do that in a million years.

Becoming a father changed him, but now as Allie peered over into Madison’s bassinet she knew they needed him back. Her littlest girl resembled him like Nicholas but her eldest was all her. Thought she let it known that she was part Cuban.

Although Lilly had no idea what she was, she too considered herself Cuban by marriage. Her Spanish was still terrible but it was improving. Her cooking was well lacking but tried to cook several dishes that were unsuccessful. Scotty never saw Lilly for her faults but her who she was. That part made her always feel wanted around him.

“ I want to play ball” Allie said.

Lilly kissed her” Not yet this summer you can I know Daddy wants to teach you”.

Allie smiled before watching her baby sister again. Just looking at her two girls it made her feel sad that she didn’t know where Christina was. Thought she was a train wreak Lilly needed to make sure her little sister was alright. In one of the albums there were only on picture of them as kids.

Now remembering the good times Lilly wished she had a better relationship with Christina. Now it was never going to happen. Closing the book she saw Nicholas joining them as he tried to torment them.

“ Hey what are you doing”?

His smile was of his father’s “LUCHAR” (fighting) he yelled. Lilly looked confused before Allie interrupted for him” Fighting Mommy”.
She shook her head before speaking in Spanish” Dormite tiempo” ( Nap time) realizing that being around this so much it was sinking in.

“Usted también” ( You took) pulling the covers closer to Allie before pickening up Madison. Nicholas looked up at his sister” No justo” ( No fair) upon seeing his baby sister crying out.
Allie grabbed him as he cuddled up with her before the two fell asleep. Lilly smiled before carrying her youngest daughter out. While singing softly to Madison downstairs , she saw her mother standing there looking rather proud.

“ You’re a good mother Lilly” Ellen said
Lilly smiled” Miss you” she said as her mother’s voice echoed before disappearing” Bye baby”.

Now feeling knowing her mother was at peace, Lilly put Madison down to sleep before seeing her old self appearing in the mirror. It was sign that she was moving on with her life, while the other half smiled and faded away. Now Lilly watched herself breathing and out knowing her Darkened Seas were now gone.

By nightfall the kids were up watching a basketball game as the phone rang. It was always feared after the killers but now she answered it hearing the doctor on the phone. Listening intently she knew she had help Scotty through this. Putting it down Allie sat there as Nicholas went crazy after someone made a basket.
Lilly high fived him before going over to the door, Vera stood there” Tell Scotty all bets are off”.
“ No you still owe him”.

At the same time Allie screamed out” Haga la cesta” ( make the basket). She intentetly watched holding the necklace closer to her. Vera had a strange look plastured onto his face” They sound like Scotty watching the game”.

He chuckled in amusement when the other team made the score as Nicholas threw something at his sister “ Sure he isn’t Scotty’s clone”?


Lilly looked up at her kids before controlling her son” No fighting understand” as Nicholas yelled back at her” No un bebé” ( Not a baby) before going upstairs. She knew it was better to let him cool off then to yell at him. It was already later and he was just being cranky.

“El tiempo para la cama” ( time for bed) as Allie went upstairs into her own room.

Vera left before Lilly put on the alarm but noticed that an hour later the TV was on in Allie’s room. Inside she smiled seeing her little girl curled up holding onto her necklace. Gently kissing her she turned it off before checking on Nicholas. He too was asleep almost making her wonder what Scotty looked liked as kid.

Sure enough she found a gift bearing her name on it. The card was for their wedding anniversary that was in four days. Now feeling the excitement Lilly fell asleep dreaming about what it might be.

Next one is the last chapter

Each day Scotty was getting much better as he held onto Lilly’s hand. This particular day she gave him a romantic smile, as he realized it was their wedding anniversary.

“Open it” as she began to open the box. Inside was small diamond necklace that sent tears shimmering down her face? Lilly couldn’t help that as she cried looked up at her husband” Scotty” but couldn’t get any more words out. Although he was better the pain was still there” Love you always, you mean so much to me”.

Lilly then clasped it around her neck as the two shared a small kiss” You take me out some other time” she said reading straight into his thoughts. For awhile they thought about their wedding day feeling the happiness of finally being together.

Scotty was taken aback by her use of Spanish but knew this was symptom of being married to him.
“Hable más a mí” ( speak more to me). As Lilly laughed” Got to get back see you tomorrow” before placing a picture of their kids on the nightstand” Madison’s in this one”.

When the storm grew worse outside Lilly saw how scared Allie had become. Though she never had a problem with it before something was wrong; judging by the way she was breathing.

“Tengo frío” (I’m cold) she yelled. Lilly sat down rubbing her back knowing the killer had left her out there during one of the abductions. Now kissing the tears away she took out the Velveteen Rabbit book and began reading to her.

Allie snuggled against her listening to the words before trying to read the word on the page. Lilly helped her sound it out, knowing her fifth birthday was nearing. Already she knew two languages which were going to make in impression when she started Kindergarten this year.

Her breathing had returned to normal signaling she was calm. Halfway through Lilly could just picture Scotty’s face knowing he too would have been proud of her. Now taking out an easier book Allie was able to sound of the words better. Now as she sat there trying to read, Lilly could see how determined she was.

While Nicholas was deeply engrossed in his video game, she pushed play on the DVD playing while watching their wedding video. Lilly saw herself walking down the aisle wearing that dress that she still adored. Even after giving birth nine months prior her waist had slimmed down a lot. Then it cut to their first kiss as a married couple.

It looked so perfect out of a storybook but their marriage had its ups and downs like any other. Sure the two fought and the ice queen look came out, but all in all they had great relationship. After watching the whole thing Lilly was crying softly.
Now sniffling away the tears she touched the necklace wanting to spend it with him. Now looking at the bigger wrapped present, her wonder grew even more. Now opening up the card she could hear him speaking each word to her.

From the moment I met you nothing else mattered to me. You taught me so much about being a good detective and a friend. Through my mistakes I realized how much we need each other. Even now, you’re a wonderful mother, cop and wife. Wouldn’t trade that for anything else; especially how I feel about you; Lilly right now.


Lilly cried as she looked at several pictures of them together before placing the card on her nightstand. Usually it held a spot of her victims but now on maternity leave she had only that there besides a wedding photo and a big one of her children. By the time that Scotty was able to leave the hospital she made sure he relaxed.

When Allie came into the room he smiled” Hey, there’s my girl” as she felt him kissing her. Nicholas too was thrilled to see him but when Scotty saw Madison he was so awed by her. His infant daughter whom he cherished so much” Cómo sea mi bebé hermoso” (How’s my beautiful baby)?

“Ella me despertó arriba otra vez” (She woke me up again) Allie replied as Scotty kissed her.
“Usted es bueno” ( you being good) he said his son. Nicholas nodded” Juegue conmigo Papá” (play with me Daddy).
“When my tummy is better, I promise” keeping his word. As Lilly helped him sit up she then placed Madison on his chest. Now with his family there he felt better but couldn’t erase the horror he had recently seen.
“Open the gift Lil” as Lilly began to unwrap it. Inside a picture of both him and her as kids incased inside of a glass heart.
“How did you find this” she asked. Scotty smiled before wiping the tears away” You still were beautiful back then” before they shared a kiss. Now showing it them, Lilly was glad her children never had to starve or have a purple foot. They had a father who spent hours with them even after coming out of court with a massive headache.

The morning after, Scotty was so impressed with Allie trying to read. When she finished a small sentence he responded with” Orgulloso de usted” (proud you) “Siempre” (always). Allie continued on following his father’s finger as he helped to guide her along. Lilly liked how he paid equal attention to both Madison and Allie.

With Nicholas lying there nearby, she knew he recovered better with them. At night Scotty was still not sleeping as the two talked about the killer. Lilly knew he needed to put it behind him, but for now let him be with their kids.
After yelling at Vera for taunting her, she came into the room” How did we get stuck working with him”?
Scotty laughed” He still owes me from last game, but he doesn’t have three beautiful girls and a wild little boy to watch it with”.

First part for the last chapter of this story

Lilly knew she had Scotty’s side but it hurt knowing her own family was gone. After making arrangements her car made it back to Philly still feel sad inside. Just seeing Allie playing with Madison who was now seven months old made her want to curl up in bed crying. Scotty came into the bedroom after he heard about the news.

“I’m sorry, that this happened “Trying to avoid bringing up the past. Somehow Lilly wasn’t thinking about that anymore, in fact she had managed to forgive him.

“They didn’t kill Allie or you but why Chris. She was the last of my family”.

Scotty held her tightly” We’ll never find out the reason, but despite everything she was your sister”. At that point Allie came into the room as she hugged her mother. Lilly was crying even harder knowing she could have lost her daughter before Scotty wrapped his arms around his girls.

“Entre cama, yo estaré allí en un minute” ( Go into bed I’ll be there in a minute” as he spoke to Allie. Lilly then kissed her “Hey I love you” before watching her little girl leaving their bedroom.

“You tried to help her but couldn’t it didn’t make you a bad sister” Scotty said
She nodded before feeling his lips upon hers before hearing Allie calling out for him” Go before she wakes up everyone else”.

Now all alone, Lilly sat there feeling sad with pain etching into her own heart. It hurt deeply never to hear the sound of Christina’s voice again and her mother’s as well. Then finding one picture of them during a rare good time she studied it carefully, before placing it next to a picture of her own family.

During the next morning, Lilly watched Allie walking into the school with her friends. She remembered how Christina and she would walk home together. Now a piece of her was gone but in her heart she had her own family to take care and love. Lilly wasn’t all alone like always not with a husband who had her heart.

Now as the day of the funeral arrived, she managed to hold back the tears. Even afterwards Lilly reverted back to burying herself with work. It was the only way to remain calm and collected but then saw herself right after the glass slit both of her wrists. Now feeling that same sadness inside her went outside to take a walk.

By morning, Scotty grew worried as he saw that Lilly wasn’t at headquarters. Then his eyes widened as he saw her going into the river.

Part II

Running now into the cold icy river, he heard her voice echoing. Scotty turned around seeing how everything was coming into full circle now. This was now really happening as he saw his finger pulling the trigger as bullets were discharged but there was no sound, until someone fired back.
“Scotty” Lilly’s voice said repeating his name for a second time.
He turned around before realizing she wasn’t yet pregnant with Madison yet, somehow six shots rang out before the building exploded. Looking around his wife was gone before hearing another gun ringing off in the distance.
Fear snuck in before seeing Lilly reappearing as he wrapped his arms around her. Now heading home the two made a promise to protect each other and their kids. Two months later after the case was turned to solved, Lilly received a phone call” Isn’t it sweet Lillian “as she saw blood trailing out.

Now following it the called hissed before she found Scotty lying on the floor motionless.
“Lillian, Lillian” came an evil whisper

Part III

Now as she was grabbed, Lilly fought but notice her husband was gone. Turning around there was nobody there before a flashlight flickered on causing her to scream. The lights came on as Vera stood there laughing with everyone else.

“Damn it that wasn’t funny” she said before coming to her senses knowing her husband was part of the prank. He avoided being yelled at by taking their kids somewhere. Later on just as they were making their way back to the car, a man jumped out leading Scotty back into the field.

Part 4

Allie watched how much her father fought before seeing the man aiming his gun at her. Scotty then lost it knowing his children meant the whole world to him. Now firing one shot, which missed the man, turned around “You can’t completely open your heart to Lillian not even to them. It’s that weakness that lies inside”.

Scotty remained strong for his kids as the man came closer” Think about it you knew she wasn’t sleeping after being shot, but did nothing about it but when Lillian slits both wrists with a piece of glass you started to care. Was that really love or you just feel sorry for a messed of piece of trash from Kensington. Poor Lillian so many cracks in her own heart from people like you who don’t love her”.

“I had enough of this” Scotty yelled as the man knew he was getting into his skin” We kill to take that pain away, but now you will be our perfect victim not Lillian or them. See I get off torturing men weak ones who can’t treat women right”.

He then looked deeper into his eyes while, Allie was holding onto her brother shielding him from seeing what was going on. The man backed off before turning around as the two of fired back... Allie then saw her father lying on the ground bleeding.

“Daddy” she yelled before making her way there. Allie was very scared now but somehow Lilly was tracing the killer’s path here as she raced up to her kids. Feeling for a pulse she looked over her shoulder as paramedics came through. Scotty’s breathing was labored but he managed to say one thing” Hey”.
Lilly knew he needed her now at this very moment” Hang on Scotty”. Allie was so brave she stepped forward gently touching her father’s face, before being led away by Jefferies. In the car Nicholas held onto her while she spoke to him in Spanish.

During the whole ambulance ride there Lilly kept on talking to him. She couldn’t lose the man she loved so much. While he was being worked on she stood there thinking about how he would always listen and understand her for who she was. Not many people like him would have stuck around to help her not even an old childhood friend.

Inside of the waiting room Lilly looked over seeing how much hope Allie had for her father. She was remained strong for her brother as well. Though she knew she saw the shooting, it was amazing for a four year old to be like this. Yet Lilly was brave even at that age, but realizing that her daughter took on her strength of hope.

When the doctor came and got her” We’ve got him on a ventilator since he went into a coma after the surgery”.
Lilly felt her legs weakening knowing Scotty had been shot in the head. Now entering the room she saw him lying there motionless.
“Hey I love you” she said beginning to cry hard. Glancing up at the monitor his heart rate was declining” Scotty please hang I need you” she whispered.
Throughout the night Lilly sat there telling him about the good times. She needed to hear his voice again so badly but by morning he didn’t have much time to live. In fact his brain activity was slowly down so much that Lilly knew this was the end.
“I love you Scotty no one else could ever protect me the way you did” she said crying harder. Kissing him on the cheek before Lilly spoke to him” Te quiero con todo el corazón para siempre” (I love you with all my heart forever).

The monitor began showing rapid decline as Lilly put her head on his chest after it showed his heart had stopped. She listened hearing that one last beat knowing the man who meant everything to her was now dead. The doctor came in seeing the grieving widow crying softly against her husband while he took away the ventilator.

Now all alone again Lilly cried even more not wanting to be with anyone else but him.
“I love you” she whispered before seeing people ready to take him down to the morgue. Standing up Lilly walked out now a widow with two children. Her heart was broken into so many pieces knowing her protection was gone. As she hugged Allie and Nicholas they too cried needing Scotty also.

Somehow Lilly came the next day to interrogate this guy. Now walking down the hallway she walked the same until entering the bullpen. There her eyes routinely looked for Scotty needing to see him but his coffee cup was still in the break room unused. Picking it up gently tears of misery flooded her eyes feeling alone.

Lilly then walked into one of the rooms and slammed the door “Think you can kill my husband in front of our children”.
The killer laughed” Just be lucky it wasn’t them” before Lilly pulled him up feeling her husband’s anger when people tiffed him off” Do not mess around with me have it” before dropping him down.
“My husband, my partner didn’t have to die”
He smiled” Yes he did, now you’ll never get his comfort or safety again”.
She slammed her fists hard on the table” This will eat at you forever. No matter what nothing can bring back my partner and husband or that father my children love”.
Lilly was beyond tiffed at this point before she yelled loudly. With Vera and Jefferies running in she was about to lose it. Now heading home the now widowed detective felt all alone while seeing couples in love remembering how much love Scotty had brought into her life. Even her children didn’t play or speak feeling the loss deeply.

With the funeral coming up Lilly never imagined herself as a widow. It hurt to think of that new title knowing she would never grow old with him. Just remembering the last beat of his heart sent more tears down her face. Now watching her kids holding each other they felt lost without him. She then bent down to kiss both of them.
“We’re never going to forget about Daddy, I miss him too” Lilly said.
Allie sniffled back some tears as Nicholas whispered” Come back Daddy”. It hurt to hear that knowing what a good loving father Scotty was. He had such a great relationship with their kids now it was hard for them to say goodbye. Even that night they wanted their father to kiss and hug them, but tears of sadness were shed instead.
Not even Lilly could cure it, for she too missed that also. For the first time it felt awkward to sleep alone against without Scotty next to her. Then in the next room Allie was tossing and turning as she relived seeing her father being shot over and over again.

ACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LII2! What are you doing to me? lol. I have been meaning to catch up on your chapters forever so I took a morning off here to do so and now... I'M FREAKING OUT! He can't be dead! You HAVE to bring him back to life!! Ohhhhh nooo... I'm gonna be upset now until I read the next installment. Having said all that, great and interesting writing! I was psyched out a few times when it turned out to be a dream before...... it better be another dream or SOMETHING! Just please fix it! lol Don't worry about me, I'll be okay. Too much caffeine + prospect of Scotty being dead = bad combo. Anyway, thanks for writing it. I'm going to try to read your new story soon. I just have to find the time to do it!
