those sc... bags!! I don'ts wants to know!! I'm really PO'd. You know the last several survivors I don't want to know anything and this season was going along really great. They've (CBS) has basically given it away in their finale commerical promo anyway. You can tell by the wording as they show each of the last four and what they say for each one. I'm sorry I got to know MB's tricks over the years. dayum as you would say. :smile55:

Yup, I wasn't very happy about seeing that. :smile12: It kinda ruins the surprise element. Geez.
Next season's looks good though. I like the idea of that island they each have to spend time at. I'm betting they really mix up the teams back and forth too.

I did find some information based on some old survivor shows and when Boston Rob and his wife (name slipped my memory)... but basically, I think it depends on their sponsorship, advertisements, etc. B/c don't forget they do give cars away?? So I think alot of factors are based on that... but I found some sites that mentioned prizes money from the first voted out up to the winner here we go Prizes Not only the winner receives a prize in Survivor. Here are the approximate monetary prizes for all placings in a normal 16-player game (on the All-Star series, all prizes except the million dollar top prize were doubled):
Prize (in US$) Sixteenth $2,000 Fifteenth $4,000 Fourteenth $6,000 Thirteenth $8,000 Twelfth $10,000 Eleventh $12,000 Tenth $15,000 Ninth $20,000 Eighth $30,000 Seventh $40,000 Sixth $50,000 Fifth $60,000 Fourth $70,000 Third $85,000 Runner-up $100,000 Winner $1,000,000
The Million-dollar winner also typically wins an automobile.
While the show is based on the theme of wilderness survival, the real basis of the show is interpersonal relationships. The survival aspects are difficult enough to discomfort the players, but contestants are rarely truly endangered (only one has ever had to leave in mid-series due to injuries). The real survival skills required are the ability to make deals and form alliances with other players to keep from being voted off. Because of the steadily diminishing number of players and the fact that the players being voted off will in turn choose the ultimate winner, considerable political skills are required.www.answers.com/topic/survivor-television-show

Then there was the All-Stars I saw an article on that... Survivor: All Stars will feature eighteen of the most memorable, entertaining and controversial castaways from previous Survivor editions. The series' best strategists, survivalists and personalities will collide with the winner earning $1 million and the title of the "Ultimate Sole Survivor."
According to USA Today, in additional to the increase from the show's usual sixteen castaways to eighteen, the show will air fourteen original episodes, up from the typical thirteen, and while the grand prize will remain $1,000,000, the payouts for the losing contestants will increase significantly, beginning with a tenfold increase in the $2,500 prize that the first ousted contestant traditionally receives. www.realitytvworld.com/news/survivor-all-stars-premiere-after-super-bowl-xxxviii-on-sunday-february-1-1999.phpthen of course Rupert won $1million b/c of popularity... another one... Rob and Amber The rules of "Survivor" say the winner can't share his or her winnings with another contestant. Brkich said she and Mariano will maintain separate bank accounts.
He got $250,000 [as the runner-up] and I got the million. We can't share; it's against the rules," she said. "Maybe he'll win on the live show Thursday, but I do feel Rupert has somewhat of an advantage. So get on the phone and vote for Rob!"
Yes, there's still more voting to be done, this time by viewers. At the end of Sunday's live "Survivor" reunion show, Probst announced that viewers get to pick one contestant from among the 18 "All-Stars" players as a favorite, and that person will win $1 million. Fan Favorite Rupert Boneham is expected to be a leading contender for the additional prize. Votes can be cast at www.cbs.com or by sending a text message via wireless phone to 26161 followed by the name of the "Survivor" receiving the vote. Results will be tallied until midnight tomorrow and the winner will be revealed in a live hourlong show airing at 8 p.m. Thursday.www.post-gazette.com/pg/04132/314270.stm

So Like I said, it all depends on Sponsorship, advertisements etc. Don't forget, if these ppl make a name for themselves b/c of Survivor. Then they asked to be on shows etc.. so those contestants get money that way too. I hope this answers your questions

You know I wasn't aware that all the players got something. Or it just slipped my memory. I think I do remember early on something about $10,000 for last place. Oh well.
I've seen too more recently in the seasons that there are much more food rewards. I guess a small food reward once every three days isn't all that big of a deal. I do enjoy watching them eat it. I'd still like to see MB do an all out survival game though in some rough environment. I don't care if it did involve him finding actual mountaineers or triathlon winners - I still think it would be fascinating television. And I mean this in the sense of playing the game surivor and forming alliances but just with people who should be physcially able to battle the elements on very little given to them.
Thanks for looking for the info Eurache. So Rafe got $85,000. Not to shabby.
