Rob is a master schemer! I really didn't think that he'd be able to pull it off on this show, but he seems to be doing it quite well. How it affects him in the long run remains to be answered, though. Paying off the security guard to not tell the other teams - brilliant. Even more scheming (and brilliant, really) was his paying the bus driver to keep the rear door closed when the bus stopped. The best part was that he tricked a couple other teams to chip in, and then only used their money to pay the driver. To quote the Guinness commercials - Brilliant! Brilliant! Amber and Rob need to stick around, if only for the entertainment value. I can't wait to see what happens when the teams figure out that he's causing all of these difficulties.
I don't miss the Paris Hilton girls. They were annoying and added nothing to the show. The recipe detour was a trick. It seemed so much easier, but then when you found out that you had to pay for all that stuff, it was the wrong choice. I still can't figure out how the other teams weren't able to take all of their books in one trip like Amber and Rob. Weird.

I didn't mind who got eliminated. We didn't get to know to much about them. Guess that's why.
Well did you hear Amber say that she let's Rob make the major decisions? lol! Anyway he is very inventive and I do like how the show is progressing along.
Next week looks good too. I am rooting for Rob and Amber to stay in as long as they can. They even won a trip!
I agree! I love it.

Rob is the master! He manages to steal Debbie and Bianca's taxi without them knowing. Then, he gets two other teams to quit the roadblock, thus, guaranteeing he and Amber another leg of the race. He is really amusing to watch and he plays a smart game. I really can't hate on that. The other teams have the same opportunities, but they fail to see them or use them.
I can't believe so many team members were able to finish the 4 pounds of meat. I don't care if it had been normal animal parts, there's no way I could eat 4 pounds! Kudos to Debbie and Bianca for finishing so (relatively) quickly. Bummer about finishing last after such an accomplishment, though.

Yea, TVFan. I wonder how many hours that put between the front part of the pak vs. the ladder part. Rob also had a police escort to find some place early in the leg. lol! I hope he can keep it mixed up!

Well it looks like Rob and Amber were about one hour behind the front of the pack or was it two? Anyhow it's so interesting how Rob can finangle things and it really is annoying the other players. They were in 5th place and ended up first again! I bet Phil is really impressed.
Phil did say in an interview before this season ran that he knew nothing about Rob and Amber on Survivor due to his own schedule on TAR. I think he's been impressed. Isn't it always also interesting how it seems Rob knows how to do stuff. Like the horses. He knew how to handle one. They did luck out with their boat - not having any problems.
Bye bye Mom and son. That son didn't like Rob at all. But they had some tuff breaks and they were 4 hours behind and last to begin this segment.
Another exicting episode. I guess it will be a two hour episode next week. The first hour probably won't be an elimination round but the second will?

I was wondering that about next week as well Naj. I wonder why we are getting a two hour ep?
It was interesting to see an episode where everyone didn't catch up at some point. I liked the two groups idea where one was racing for first place and the other was racing to stay in the game.
Patrick's attitude doomed the Mother/Son team. He gave up, and that made it almost impossible for that team to stay alive. He did the same with the eating roadblock and the horse roadblock. For all he knew this could have been non-elimination. The mother was right, you should never give up. Oh well.
Rob and Amber are playing a very smart game. As long as they keep this up, I don't see how they wouldn't make it to the final three. I could see them winning as well, but things tend to shift on this show. There really isn't a team that I'm rooting against this season. I like all of the teams. Ray and Deana are a little annoying (her whining, his yelling out of frustration), but overall I'm enjoying all of the teams. I find myself in a bind each week b/c I don't have a team I want gone like Jonathon and Victoria. Kudos to the casting department this season!

Wow! We had two back-to-back episodes that were very intense! I assumed the first hour was going to be non-elimination, but I didn't know that the last team was going to have their backpacks taken! I REALLY don't like that twist at all. I'm still not a fan of the taking all the money idea, so the backpacks is not cool. I couldn't believe how strong Gretchen was after she was injured in the caves! She was more concerned about finding the clue than her bleeding head.
The car accident with the brothers was scary. I was so concerned about the camera man that I missed most of the detour after it happened. I was glad to hear Phil say that he was okay. The foot race at the end with the brothers and Ray and Deana was intense. The brothers deserved to stay, and the other couple only have themselves to blame. They fought between themselves, and didn't work together.

I was getting kinda scared that Rob and Amber might get eliminated but they didn't and then improved due to the jeep accident. That older couple is amazing.
The footrace was nerve racking. The couple that got eliminated was on the CBS Early Show and the woman said that they thought they were enough ahead of the men to make it and when the dust cleared when the vehicle stopped for them to get out they were shocked to see them right there behind them.
This is a good season!

Well the two brothers are gone. I don't miss them. Phil didn't seem too impressed with their outfits when they came into the pittstop. It's amazing to see the older couple still hanging in there.
Well next week it will get whittled down to the final four. I am hoping that Rob and Amber are in the final. And how about that ex-marine and his g/f? He isn't too nice to her is he?

Africa is really neat, especially with all of the animals the teams keep running into. I was surprised at how many teams got tripped up because they didn't read their clue correctly. Meredith and Gretchen and Greg and Brian both went to the wrong water tower because they didn't read where it told them to go through the town of Moen (sp). Then, Uchenna and Joyce (who rocked the detour btw) and Meredith and Gretchen both messed up the roadblock because they didn't read their clue correctly. Poor Lynn and Alex, boy did they go through some cars! I'll miss the brothers because I thought they were hysterical. They had a good time playing the game, and never got nasty with each other or the other teams. But, there are plenty of other teams that I enjoy as well. I couldn't figure out what happened between Ron and Kelly because I never heard him say what she accused him of saying (it's possible the editing didn't allow us to see it, though). Seems like they have been spending too much time together, and it's starting to wear on them.

I think Ron did say what Kelly thought. It was the f word. I can't remember the sentence though.
I caught the recap episode last night that had a few additional scenes. Rob and Amber are hysterical. Remember when they were in the jeeps and a few teams had followed Rob and Amber with R&A leading the jeeps? I forget which ep it was - it was the one where all three jeeps were going the wrong direction though. But anyway what was funny is that Rob kept laughing that no matter what he would do they would. so he kept changing lanes and they did too. Then he slowed down until he got next to the other teams and from his vehicle window motioned like he didn't know where they were. It was so funny. But again I think this was the part of the leg that they found out they were all in the wrong direction.
I wasn't going to watch but then remembered that sometimes you get something funny from these recap eps. I kinda wish I had taped it. Oh well.

I missed it because it was up against Lost. Funny story about the other jeeps and Rob and Amber! I can just picture the whole scene, too. foujylos.notlong.com [/IMG] Were there any other stand-out moments from the special, Naj?

I didn't see that one coming! I had recorded the episode, so I wasn't aware of how far along I was when the screen suddenly flashed the three dreaded words "To Be Continued..." I thought it was odd (and as Amber pointed out) that the clue said nothing about a pit stop, but I couldn't figure out what was going on until Rob and Amber showed up at "Phil on the Mat." Of course Lynn and Alex's "I hope we get to the pit stop because I'm so tired" comment had me wondering too because the producers love to throw not-so-subtle foreshadowing into each episode.
The "find a clue in a box" roadblock had me worried. I was picturing poor Hayden and the roadblock-of-death from last season where the racers had to find the lock that matched their key (as cruel of a roadblock as that was, it's still one of my favorite challenges on TAR because it was so suspenseful). I felt bad for Gretchen as she searched and searched for the clue.
I'm looking forward to finding out how this leg concludes next week.

I like them all actually. I don't want the race to end. Just keep them running legs. ~Naj

I agree Naj. I'll be bummed no matter who gets eliminated next. I like all of the teams, and would be happy no matter which one won the whole thing. The casting people did a nice job finding very likable teams this time.

I was so shocked when the camera/editing revealed that it was Meredith and Gretchen that were coming in, and not Lynn/Alex. It just seemed like Meredith/Gretchen were constantly playing catch-up. I know Lynn and Alex ended up at the wrong palace, but it's so hard to tell how much of an effect that really had until after they checked in to the pit stop. The editing makes it tricky, but I like it because it keeps me in suspense.
Rob/Amber and Ron/Kelly are very competitive. I wonder if they'll be racing for the win come the finale. That could be interesting!

It's amazing that Meredith and Gretchen stay in it. And Phil told them they are the oldes two to stay in the game that long! It is impressive.
I like the competition between R/A and R/K. I don't think those Fast Forwards are as good as they once were. I doubt that couple has much of a lead.
Evidently up till last night last weeks leg was several days long already. So I wonder just how many total days that leg was?

It was a very long leg. I know they had the opportunity to sleep on the train, but I imagine you don't get a whole lot of sleep on one of those. The teams must have been exhausted when they (finally) reached the pitstop.
Congrats to Meredith and Gretchen! I forgot to mention that in my previous post. Their endurance and determination is very admirable. I'd love to see them make the final three. I love how this race has little to do with age and physical strength.
